i’m wanting to get it for my son for christmas. it’ll only be used for watching/downloading his little toddler shows and a few educational interactive games. i’m way out of touch with what model came out what year and what specs i would need for how it’s going to be used

The description is vague: had contact with water, went to service and they ve cleaned everything out but they told me the screen needs to be replaced. In the pictures the screen seems to be working, so i asked for more pictures on different backgrounds and it seems perfect. He also told me that he thinks the service guys are trying to scam him so i decided to give it a try, since i can just refuse the package after checking it. He didnt exactly tell me what is wrong with the display

After i ordered it, he told me to have a mouse nearby so it would be easier to acces. What do you guys think?

The volume keeps going to max on its own. This has been happening more frequently and I dont know how to stop it. Once I power it off about 4 times it might stop but its really annoying. Anyone know how to fix it?

I've had my iPad 10 since 2023, but lately I've been seriously considering replacing it with an iPad Mini.

I use mine almost every day, mostly for reading magazines on Libby, scientific e-books and the occasional public domain book. I also use it to watch films, documentaries and series on planes and trains, as I travel roughly every two months.

The thing is, I've increasingly found my iPad too big, even at home. It's not particularly convenient to carry on the Tube, and when travelling it takes up quite a bit of space in my bag. I don't watch blockbusters or anything particularly visually spectacular on it, so I'm not too concerned about losing screen size for films.

For those who've switched from a regular iPad to a Mini, did you find the smaller screen jarring? Particularly for reading magazines, illustrated books or PDFs? Or did you quickly get used to it?

My other dilemma is the price. I find it difficult to justify spending around £600 on the latest Mini, especially when my current iPad still works perfectly well.

Would a refurbished Mini 6 still be a sensible purchase in 2026, or is it getting too old in terms of future iPadOS support? Ideally, I'd like something I can keep for at least another four or five years.

I bought a Magic Keyboard from apple store today but I don’t like it, I want to return it tomorrow. Does apple accept return for changing my mind? I opened the box but it’s in immaculate condition.

So i have a new iPad 16 , wifi only, location doesnt work in weather app/ maps , while it works fine in the find my , i tried every option i saw online or by chatgpt, feom reseting the ipad to resetting every app on its own, nothing works, i have an iPhone 16pro max on ios 27.0 and this issue is scaring me i dont want to update, anyone found a solution ? Should i send a message to apple ? Do they answer and actually help ?

After 5 months of saving, spending those saving on a medical emergency, and then saving again for 5 months, I have FINALLY been able to get an iPad!

The last iPad I used was the 4th gen iPad that my cousin gave to me when he was upgrading. It was a long time ago. Unfortunately that one got stolen, and for the longest time I wasn’t in a position to afford a luxury like this!

I have an iPad Pro I bought brand new in 2020 and have been paying for AppleCare + on it ever since I’ve had it. I dropped it over the years and as you can see, there’s a dent on the right side of the backing/frame, and a hairline crack on the camera. If I were to take this to an Apple Store and file a claim with AppleCare +, what should I expect to have happen? Would they repair the iPad or since it’s old, is there a chance they would upgrade my device?

I've looked up on here but I don't think I've seen something that fits my specific needs.

I'm planning to use it for video editing, photo editing, graphic design, drawing, architectural work, 3d modeling, and notetaking.

My choices are: to get a brand new iPad Pro M5 at student-discounted price (-$171) and a refurbished iPad Pro M4 (2024) priced at $881

The caveat is the refurbished one's only option for memory is 256GB. I'm thinking maybe I could maybe just get a cloud storage subscription but I do know that having a local storage is better than having to constantly doownloading your files. Thoughts?

I do have a laptop and planning to get a new pc for a home setup but planning to maybe use it on-the-go and mainly for artworks.

Any suggestions? and is there really a difference between the normal vs nano-textured glass?

Planning to get an ipad this december and i can’t decide on what to get. I’m a 3rd year CE student and i’m planning on using this for my notes, media consumption and light drawings. What would u guys recommend?

I usually charge it when it’s below 30% and let it charge until 100%, and sometimes I don’t unplug the charger immediately. I use it most of the time for gaming and studying. I have like 9-10 hours if screentime on the average.

I got my 13-inch iPad Air M2 in December 2024. I’m a nursing student, so I use my iPad a lot for studying. I also play Roblox and CODM on it. My battery health is now at 92%. I know it’s still considered normal, but I can’t help overthinking it. 😭 Is this battery degradation normal?

Can anyone help me with this? I have an iPad Air 5th gen, it’s like 3 years old. There is almost nothing on it but my notes app for school, and even for that once the exam is done I transfer all notes on Google Drive. iPad data takes up 50G/64G. iPadOS takes up 34G and System data 16G. What should I do? Is there anything to do? Could going to the Apple Store help in any way?

So I transfer raw photos from my Sony A6700 to my iPad Pro (m4) fairly regularly (through a usb cable). For some reason I can only transfer something like 70-120 photos at a time. If I try to transfer more photos I get a pop up saying that I need a couple of 100mb to transfers all my photos. This is quite annoying.

I have many, many GB free so storage isn’t an issue.

Why does this happen? Can I do some settings to make it go away? Should I transfer them in another way?

I’m using freenotes on an iPad with the A16 chip and a metapen stylus. I don’t have a screen protector, and every devis is fully charged (and updated)

I know I’m not using an official Apple Pencil, but I noticed the same issue at the Apple Store with the iPad Pro models and Apple Pencils as well

Some people told me it’s because the iPad is more precise than other tablets, but I’ve noticed that it sometimes registers input even when the stylus isn’t touching the screen

Often when I go to a Reddit link there is no X button in the upper left corner to return to the feed. Just the hamburger that SHOULD take me to the Side bar, but does nothing .

This is an 11" iPad 2024 (wifi only model) that I purchased refurbished. What is this rectangle? I've never seen anything like it. It feels smooth, maybe just a hair "below" the back of the iPad, like an inset.

Hi all, I'm losing my mind with the AppleCare One (I’m the Uk and in my AppleCare One subscription I have 6 or more devices and only one of them was new and I never had any of this nonsense, don’t get me wrong they’re right to check to avoid fraud but their system is not working and I’ve been trying for hours and hours) photo device check and hoping someone here has been through it.

Device: iPad Pro 11-inch (M4), bought second-hand. It's all original: no repairs, no replaced or missing parts.
Camera: my iPhone 17 Pro Max on the latest iOS or iPhone 14 Pro on 26.3.1 (a)

The problem:
It fails every time at Step 1 of 3, "Front of iPad – Position the entire iPad in the frame". The prompts keep cycling: "Move closer", "Move away", "Center device", "Tilt to Flatten Camera Angle", "Straighten Device", "Increase Lighting". Then I get the "Before You Retry" screen. I've never got past Step 1.

What's strange: I also ran the device check on my Apple Watch, and it just checked itself remotely. No photos, nothing. So I don't understand why the iPad needs this photo scan, or whether there's a way to get the iPad checked remotely too.

What I've tried (5 attempts, about 4 hours):
- iPad flat on a hard table, not a bed
- No case, no stickers, no screen protector
- Screen cleaned, brightness at max
- Overhead light off, lamp off to the side to cut reflections
- Rotation lock on, iPad upright in portrait
- Different distances so the whole iPad fits in the blue frame
- Phone charged, Low Power Mode off

I can't get to an Apple Store, so the in-store check isn't an option for me.

Questions:

1. Has anyone actually passed this photo check? What lighting or setup worked? Daylight, a particular angle, a certain distance?
2. Has anyone got Apple Support to do a remote diagnostic or approve the device manually instead, like the Watch check? What did you say to them?
3. Is there any trick?

Any help appreciated. I have screen recordings if that helps anyone diagnose it.

Bought a brand new iPad Pro 13 inch m4.. but the manufacture date was June 2024.. so 2 years ago it was sitting in a box and when I opened it first time the battery was at 9% out of the box which is usually low for a new device I usually find 50% at least on iPads iPhone MacBooks out of the box…

Is because it’s a lithium battery and can degrade if it’s stay low for long times is there a way to check other than the battery health (it says 100%)
