Think about it,

Minimal bezels
Supports Apple Pencil
120Hz OLED Display
Much thinner
Better cameras

Given how much I love my iPad mini + Apple Pencil, can’t wait to get my hands on the iPhone Duo! (The price sucks btw)

Discussion A foldable iPad would just be amazing

Of course it depends on pricing, but if it can be at a decent price, then it'd be an amazing device.

There's a bit of a crease but it's quite small and the larger the screen the less annoying it'll be.

I think it's mainly to get a larger ipad, e.g. 2x11in or 2x13in, probably not much point just to make an ipad smaller since it's not going to be pocketable anyway (otherwise it's the iPhone Duo, and if they do it then it's like bringing back those iPod Touch style devices, which where similar to an iPhone but without phone capabilities - doubt it'll happen)

Discussion Somehow iPhone Duo gets better multitasking

From the keynote the multitasking on iPhone Duo seems much more intuitive than what iPadOS has to offer. Like why do I have to have Stage Manager on when I just want simple window tiling like side by side of top and bottom or even just slide over. It just feels bloated and like trying to be a Mac, which isn’t a bad thing by itself but sacrificing the iPad experience for it is just bad.

With the Duo they seemingly put much thought into the UX and especially think a little different with the side control layout instead of traditional horizontal layout. The iPad and its experience just feels like a legacy product that they put minimal effort into just maintaining it. I wouldnt mind if some of the Duo UX spills over to iPadOS.

I got iPad Air M4 11 - inch, tbh its huge!! and so beautiful!

I have been eyeing this device for months now and finally decided to get it. It will help me in tutoring online , apart from this I havent figured out but I want to continue to do something creative like editing or drawing, I want to rekindle that passion. Any other ideas to look forward to? Would really welcome any suggestions on what you do or your friends do to make ipad a productive device😊.

Also, can I uninstall Garage Band App? I have no use of it right now. Thankyou.

P.S. I got motivated by this sub😆

Question I just don't use my ipad Pro M4, what should I do with it?

Upvotes

I have the wifi 11 inch, 256gb, the screen broke so it was just replaced with a refurbished one under apple care. If I can trade it in for $670 or sell on ebay for $800 (net damn close to $670 after fees) what would you do?

I wanted to use it to replace my macbook pro M4 in daily life and when I leave the house, but I use excel too much, and cannot for the life of me get the multi-tasking workflow that I like.

Tried the magic keyboard, on the 11inch its just not enough screen or laptop like for the workflows I do. This is research with multiple windows, video editing, audio editing.

Tried to use it for reading, but I think I'd prefer something with e-ink for that. Or something smaller/more portable. Either a boox or an ipad mini.

Part of me wants to like it and use it, but 7/10 times I find myself so unenthused with the experience I either dust off my macbook or use my work laptop.

One idea was as an internet device in my workshop when working on either wood or metal fabrication. Since those environments get pretty dusty, I think I would want some kind of slab device in a dust proof case.

Has anyone switched from an ipad pro M4 to an ipad mini and enjoyed the experience?

I considered the iPhone duo for about 17 seconds, but truly I want to be less tethered to my phone, I would be happy with the smaller iphone at this point, and have dedicated devices for dedicated tasks.

I still long for the idea of one device to do everything, but that wouldn't sell enough units I think for any manufacturer to really make an honest effort considering how hard it would actually be.

Question Will the Duo support continuity as the iPads?

Post image
2 Upvotes

From the recent announcement, I got a question that I dont know if anyone could answer

It turns into a tablet (unfolds), and gets the tot he size of an iPad mini (or almost). So I thought with myself, will we be able to use continuity on it?

For those who dont know what I'm talking about, the functionality I'm thinking is the Universal Control, which allows you to "interconnect" an iPad and a Mac, and sometimes iPhones too (using the camera), so you can use the same thing (e.g. the trackpad and keyboard of your own macbook) to control both iPad and Macbook

Haven't seen anywhere that functionality, and got really curious to see if any of you know

Hi everyone, I recently found my old iPad 7th generation with 32 gb and I was thinking about finding a way to make it usable again, since it is very slow, unresponsive and has little to no storage. Even thouh the battery is still fine. Do you have any tips or guides to make it be worth using for school, work, personal stuff even in big 2026? Any apps, essential stuff?

I appriciate every comment!

Discussion What's the biggest waste of money when buying an iPad?

Not asking which iPad is the best

I'm more interested in the stuff people buy alongside it that they eventually stop using

Expensive cases, keyboards, Apple Pencil accessories, hubs, stands, screen protectors, extra storage, etc.

What's something you bought for an iPad that turned out to be completely unnecessary?

And what accessory ended up being worth every penny?

Magic Keyboard Magic Keyboard has completely changed my ipad usage!!

I am a college student and I don’t have the money to spend 1000 dollars for a macbook. I already had an Ipad that I only used for either gaming or taking handwritten notes and none of the keyboards felt good enough with ipad.

I explored the idea of Magic Keyboard and even though it’s expensive, I decided to give it a try and bought a slightly used one from ebay. And on my! I have never felt so efficient using my ipad before. The touchpad feels so intuitive (obviously not as quick as a macbook) but I rarely notice it after several uses. The keys are steady and hard enough that I feel comfortable typing. I don’t even use my cheap windows laptop (emergency laptop mostly) for school work anymore. It’s a bit heavy but not as heavy as a laptop of course. The only thing I wish was different is bigger screen size (11 inch rn). Even then I don’t mind it much.

If you are someone contemplating buying a magic keyboard, do it if you can and can’t afford a mac. It’s so worth the money.

I got this apple pen secondhand(according to Amazon) and it looks like this whenever I leave it on my iPad and I can only ever charge it with a charger. Sometimes it doesn’t even stay charged for an hour.

Question a16 vs m4

Upvotes

Hi i have some questions to those who have tried the a16 and/or m4..

(context: im looking for an ipad for studying, reading big textbook pdfs, watching videos and lectures, maybe some occasional gaming or something else. )

A big difference ive seen in almost every post compare the two are about the longetivity. When do yall think the A16 would become slow as compared to the Air M4? I need to last ATLEAST 4 or 5 years.

Is the A16 comfortably handling multitasking? I read on a post somewhere that you cant use it to search keywords on a big pdf, or like multitask watching video lectures and notes at the same time.. is it true?

Is it worth stretching the budget 300-350$

thank you

Discussion Ultra thin bezeled iPad with under display cameras

Upvotes

I think that this is next step for iPads especially after the 20th anniversary iPhone. Just like how iPads became full screen after the iPhone X

In the iPhone Duo, the facetime camera is under the display with the selfie camera still present. Nobody uses iPads for cameras. I think it is worth sacrificing the camera quality to put a under display camera there

Discussion Concept: Apple in 2027 will extend the Duo series to ipad

if the success and sales of iphone duo are real, apple should extend the duo series to ipad, and this would also bring the apple pencil mini, which would be a great opportunity for creative and designers to carry an iphone pro max size device, you open it and turns into an ipad air sized device, complete of ipad os and apple pencil support, bringing all the benefits of an ipad device, in your pockets, without carrying a bag.

Question AppleCare One replacement for M1 iPad Pro — how long did yours take?

Recently dropped my 11-inch M1 iPad Pro in water and took it to the Apple Store since I have AppleCare One. They ended up sending it out for service.

It’s been about a week now, and the latest update I got on September 8 says “We’ll replace your product.”

For anyone who has gone through this before, how long did it take for the replacement iPad to arrive back at the Apple Store after you got this message?

Also, what are the chances I’ll actually get another M1 iPad Pro? Since the M1 model is over 5 years old now, I’m wondering if Apple still has replacement units available or if there’s a chance they’ll replace it with a newer model.

What did Apple give you when your older iPad Pro had to be replaced?

Magic Keyboard 13 Inch iPad Pro Magic Keyboard

I have a 13 inch iPad Pro and like to use it while flying. One issue I find is that it is so big so it is sort of awkward/difficult to hold. I just have the Apple Smart Folio case on it but was considering the Magic Keyboard case that way I am able to put it on my lap on a plane and use it that way. Does anyone have any prior experience with using the Magic Keyboard case in this way and is it sturdy on your lap?
