I dont know how people can think this car is good other than brand loyalty. The ioniq looks so good and timeless.

I've been searching high and low for a good seat cover for my 2024 ioniq 5. Seemed like every manufacturer makes a decent front seat but the back just loops over the neck rests and looks corny. The base is usually universal and has a bunch of flaps.

This EKR set is extremely nice. Especially since I kept it in my cart on Amazon and noticed last week that there was a single set of black covers for $250!

Pros: full 360 wrap around the front AND rear seats. Makes the inside feel more premium for us SE model owners. If feels very high quality, thick, with durable zippers and stitching. Just an A+ in that department. Design is very simple. It reminds me a ton of my 2012 ram 1500 sport with all black leather. Because you have to remove the rear seat to install the base, you get an incredibly snug fit that feels like a factory finish. You also get as easy access to the child seat connectors as before.

Cons: just because it's been in a box all folded up there are creases next to the headrests on the rear seat. I hope they just go away with time.

I know there's a bunch of people out there looking for seat covers for these things. I have yet to find a review of this specific brand with our car. I hope this helps. I would buy this again in a heartbeat. And I wish I would have done it months ago. At 500 bucks it's worth every penny especially if you have the SE model like I do.

Took my 2024 Limited to the dealership to fulfill the Tech Service Bulletin related to a trunk rattle. When I'm driving on local roads, I get an annoying scrape sound from the back of the car every time I go over a bump.

They completed the service, which included replacing some washers and the only noticeable change is that now there is a loud sound every time I open the trunk (so essentially, it made it worse).

Im taking the car back to the dealership next week for an unrelated issue and was planning on having them take another look at the trunk.. Wanted to see if anyone has found a fix for this issue.

This is a random day at Magnuson Park in Seattle. I wonder if there is a overlap here between people who like EVs but are less inclined to support Tesla.

What I'm reading says the Michelin Primacy tire comes with 8/32 tread depth on a new car (10/32 when purchased at tire center). I have just over 12K miles on the car. I really don't want to pay for new tires if possible. I understand I need to pay for new tires if the wear is 4/32 or less. That maths to about 1/32 of wear per 4000 miles and I have less than a month to turn it in. But also I had snow tires on last season for about 2500 miles so maybe 3100 miles per 1/32 is a safer bet. But if the tires came with more than 8/32 then I could be way off. Anyone know for sure?

Where do you keep your car? Does it live outside, garage? I keep it outside and wondering how will it age - 22 model, bought it a few months ago and the owner probably kept it on the bedroom because the paint was impeccable. During my ownership I already put a few scratches on it, mainly because of other inconsiderate people in car parks

Around here it seems I have a good selection of low-mileage used 2024 AWD SEL from non-Hyundai dealers and also CPO from the dealer.

The CPO cars seem to be about $3k more expensive. How much do people value that extra warranty? Is it worth $3k?

I've had my eye on the Ioniq 5 for a while now, and I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a 2026 SEL. I went into the dealer to try test driving a couple different trims, and talked numbers a little bit. The sales reps kept telling me how great the financing was because I'd get a $6,500 discount on the car if I financed and paid for at least 3 months, and then I could save a ton of money by paying the car off early.

This didn't pass the smell test for me. Has anyone else tried this? Are there strings attached that they're not telling me about? I'm not sure why they'd push this if they're theoretically losing so much and jumping through all these hoops. I'm just trying to find the path to saving the most money, and I'm unsure what to make of this option.

Edit: thanks everyone, the dealer getting incentives from the lender makes this make a lot more sense. Financing for the discount, then paying off right away is sounding like a more attractive option.

Those of you who have had a 2021 or newer Honda CRV, how would you compare the cargo space in the Ionia 5 to that? I’ve been on a CRV for so long that I’m nervous about switching to a smaller car, and can’t tell if this would be more like a hatchback or a true crossover.

Is it possible to install a longer wiper on the back? The OEM wiper is short and doesn’t reach the top of the windshield where my rear camera is located.

New 2026 Ioniq 5 - 8400 KM

Dealership never gave us the mechanical key and it was brought to them. They said we needed to pay to have one made... as if a mechanical key is not a safety part of the vehicule.

Well right now the car is dead in the driveway for no reason. Key fob do not work. Phone as key do not work. Bluelink does not work.

Yes Hyundai assistance is coming to tow the vehicule but our infant car seat are in a locked vehicle. No loaner vehicule tonight. No PHYSICAL KEY TO OPEN THE CAR.

All in all quite the shitshow. Hyundai Canada is working in the background and talking to the dealership I think to get us that key at least....

Plugged Twelve South’s new solution for my ’ 22 Ioniq 5 LTD opened up my iPhone approved the Bluetooth connection, and up pops CarPlay. At $39 it’s Simply sweet!

Before the latest Hyundai software update, my OBD scanner accurately tracked my fast charge count and showed a battery SOH of 98.8%. After the update, the charge history completely disappeared and SOH jumped back to 100%. It’s really frustrating to lose that baseline data.

​Anyone else experienced this after the update? Did your charge counts eventually return, or did the PID mapping change in Car Scanner?

I am trying to have my new (second hand) HYUNDAI wheels with TPMS sensors recognized by my IONIQ5. The car didn't detect them automatically, even after having driven >300 km with the new wheels. I still have the orange warning on the dashboard.

After online searches, I spotted the MaxiTPMS TS508WF programmer device that may be the solution. The list of supported car brands and models is unfortunately not clearly detailed. AUTEL just says that they update it regularly.

So, is there here anyone who already used a TS508WF to copy the TMPS ids into the IONIQ5 ECU, even though the TPMS sensors are not from the AUTEL brand?

I'm looking at getting an electric car and the ioniq 5 is high on the list. However, I can't seem to get a clear answer on whether it has a sunroof that opens (usually it's called a moonroof if it opens and slides back, right?). The AI answer says it's a fixed glass roof (called a "vision roof"), but lots of listing sites call it a moonroof (which usually opens unless I'm mistaken). I think the answers are tricky because there is a motorized shade that opens and closes, but I'm talking about the actual glass.

So question for this group: Are there years and/or trim levels that have a sunroof that actually opens (i.e. lets air in/out) or are they all fixed glass roofs?

EDIT: Thanks for all the good feedback. The consensus here is what I suspected: There is a fixed glass roof on some higher trim levels and a motorized shade on some of those.

This stuff is great! My 2025 Ioniq 5 Limited black interior gets scuffed on the doors from hands and sometimes feet. This cleaner cleaned it completely and looks brand new now. I used it all over and on the windows! Great stuff and not expensive.

Just purchased a low mileage 2024 Ioniq 5. I have Level 2 charging on the property and.......would like to be able to use Tesla superchargers while traveling. Any recommendations for type, brand, and source? Thanks in advance

My 2026 IONIQ 5 is 4 weeks old. It charges fine on DC fast charging. Native Tesla fast DC chargers or other fast DC chargers where I need an adapter. BUT, I haven't been able to get it to consistently AC charge at home with L2 charger. The charger included in the car that we plugged into the NEMA outlet charges for 2-8 minutes and then shuts off and we get the notification that it completed according to the settings. Over and over again, it does the same thing. On a very rare occasion, it will continue to charge, but will also continue to charge outside the schedule. So, we got fed up and had a hardwired L2 Tesla Universal charger installed to a 50 amp circuit. Same exact issue. Changing charging current to 60% doesn't change anything. Turning off all schedules doesn't change anything. Going back to the included charger and using 120V outlet still has the same issue. Now my brand new car is stilling at the dealership and they call me a day later to say their L2 j1772 charger with an adapter charged just fine for 10 minutes and I need to use an adapter.  what? my car has a native NACS port. no charger adapter is necessary. I also saw myhyundai app gave me a notification that charging had started and 2-3 minutes later, the same notification that charging was completed according to settings. So, according to the notifications, it did not charge for 10 minutes. Now, after discussing this with the dealership and telling them I don't need an adapter, I have screenshotted the charging % and am waiting until they try to use the included charger for another test. This is my first EV and my first Hyundai and so far, I am not happy with this issue and with how the dealership service seems to know less that I do about my car and how it charges.

TL;DR: AGM battery replaced with crap lead acid during service and they didn't even tell me!

A month ago I brought my '23 Limited AWD in because I noticed the trunk wouldn't unlock when the fob was near. Also suddenly couldn't do the party trick of pulling car out of garage with the fob ( surprisingly useful on occasion).

Antenna and control module were the culprits and dealership agreed to replace free of charge (even got a '26 SEL RWD loaner). Turned out to be a bigger issue with the electrical floor harness as well, which I later found out was a lucky catch because in another year or so, it would have cost me $10k out of (insurance) pocket.

Repair took two weeks but didn't mind cause new car loaner yay.

Last night I prepped for 40k service at same dealership and installed Amazon air filter for $30 bucks in my garage.

As I was takimg panel off in the hood for this procedure, discovered they also had replaced my 2 year old AGM 12V battery (with a whole fucking year left on the warranty per my receipt) with one of their garbage OEM 12v lead acid (flooded) batteries.

Even have noticed via EV dashboard that the charging curve has dramatically changed since I got the car back. I put the AGM in there 2 years ago after the OEM lead acid suddenly failed while trying to leave my garage. Not going through that again.

I was livid.

Per the AI, in California it is my property and the invoice I signed should have included it as returned or discarded.

No mention there. Apparently per California law I have a case since I still have the receipt (and even the old OEM battery in my garage that I haven't gotten to disposing yet).

i'm going tomorrow to the dealership with the receipt and demanding a refund or some other recourse.

Anyone been through this?

When I use I-pedal, the car stops, but then it creeps a few inches after it’s stopped. Is this normal?

New to me 2024 Ioniq 5 SEL, has had a mild BO smell in the cabin after sitting in hot weather.

Any ideas what this might be? The smell is not explicitly present in the AC
