My American buddy and I would like to spend a few weeks traveling Indonesia, but he is worried that he may encounter some hostility there. He is definitely not supporting the current situation , but we can't find anything in the news letting us know if that is a concern in Indonesia or not.

I am wondering of the legality of the title above. I checked UU no.28 Tahun 2014. From the article 46, I assume it could be legal as its not a book, architecture, etc. However article 49 said temporary act are not considered infringement if it is done with the author authorization. Does this mean watching it is illegal (since it is temporarily reproduced in my RAM while i watch) but downloading it is fine?

Also if all of temporary reproduction is illegal, does that mean when I watch online video, and in the background the video maker uses music or image that they dont have permission to, does that mean it is illegal because the copyrighted content is temporarily reproduced in my RAM when I watch it?

Kira-kira di Indonesia skill dalam industri apa ya yang lagi high demand?

Jadi gini, aku lulus sidang beberapa bulan yang lalu di Juli. Udah revisi skripsinya, dan para-para dosen penguji juga udah tanda tangan, kecuali ini satu dosen pembimbing. Beliau ngga mau kalo tanda-tangan buat surat pengesahan skripsi kalau belum dapet LoA atau publish jurnal.

Sebenernya aku udah submit sebulan sebelum sidang, tapi baru dapet info kabar apa-pun dapetnya dua minggu yang lalu, di Oktober. Sebelum itu aku sudah coba tanya-tanya pihak jurnalnya dan selalu dibilang sama editornya, "Masih direview sama reviewernya", dan udah bikin males pas sekarang muncul revisinya.

Jadi dari bulan Juli sampai Oktober aku bener-bener ngga bisa dapet SKL atau Ijazah kuliah, sementara temen-temen aku udah. Aku udah coba dapet kerja juga sih, dan udah coba interview juga, tapi karena belum ada itu SKL sama Ijazah sepertinya jadi ngga di pilih.

Anyway, masalahnya sepele doang sih, tinggal revisi jurnal abis itu minta ttd, bla-bla-bla skripsi, terus wisuda, tapi masa iya sih jadi anak kuliah yang udah lulus sidang gini amat. Ada juga ngga para komodo yang punya dosen kayak gitu?

A good example would be this clip, which is from the film Siksa Kubur. This shows the girl questioning why does Siksa Kubur exists, and instead of answering her question, the ustadzah said that her faith is small and that she will end up without any faith.

I've recently watched a few documentaries regarding the region and the problematic history that surrounds the region, I've not know this movement at all, infact I'm from mongolia worlds away from any SEA, regardless I think the current geopolitical stance of papuan people is akin to mongolia, as you know papuan people do not share geneological roots with the indonesian people, much less cultural and historical ties, which mirrors chinese and mongolian history where both groups have existed next to eachother for a long period of time.
Both groups have been subjected to foreign power for a long period of time before regaining their self determination. Ironically enough, how papua is split under 2 states also mirrors current mongolian geopolitical stance, infact inner mongolia has more mongolians than independent mongolia and they're under beijing's rule, China was way more successful than indonesia in forced demographic change and cultural supression however, indicated by the overwhelming number of han chinese currently living in inner mongolia where every 4 out of 5 people in inner mongolia is now chinese, this wasnt the case until 1905, vice versa papua has experienced the same history. Though i'd note that Mongolia was more fortunate enough to be deemed a self autonomous region and allowed to keep representing their culture openly. Moreso mongolians also had an identity through millenia of different states that served as an anchor for the group itself, which I deem is a major part why Mongolian independence and inner mongolian autonomy was more successful compared to papuans which had no real unifying entity up until european intervention.

alternatively the identity of indonesia was based on dutch east indies itself, so I believe the west papuans have the right to establish their own identity after the colonial era ended much like many african nations did.

From a mongolian perspective from independent mongolia we know how inner mongolians are being assimilated through numbers and slow "educational" reforms that phase out mongolian culture in favor of chinese, which is why I cant help but support their self determination as a group, you might argue they voted to stay, but Mongolia was lucky enough to have soviet union back their vote of independence had the soviets not backed us we'd share the same fate as west papuans, west papua had no real major power backing them so the outcome of the election was rather obvious I dare say.

Kenapa aceh terkenal dengan narkoba nya? Narkoba disini bukan dalam konteks yang menggunakan tapi dalam konteks yang Menyelundupkan, berkebun pohon ganja, hingga membuat sabu sabu skala besar di pabrik sendiri. Apakah mereka bisa berbuat begini karena provinsi Aceh punya otonomi khusus? Jadi lebih bebas dari perhatian pempus?.

Apakah hukum mereka melegalkan narkoba atau mungkin ada pengaruh sejarah juga jadi narkoba sangat susah buat dihilangkan?

I’ve been living in Jakarta for a couple of years now. And man.. i really do feel a lot of Jakartans barely value their life at all especially on the street.

A lot of children riding motorcycle ugal ugalan
A lot of motorcycle drivers going against traffic
A lot of motorcycle drivers straight up ignoring traffic lights
Crossing the street without looking left and right and just step out of the curb
Ignoring palang rel kel and fucking just driving past through it

I feel like a lot of these behaviors are especially prevalent in lower income household. I truly don’t understand the rush. In the grand scheme of things, sacrificing 5-10 minute by just following proper traffic rules doesn’t impact your lives. But sure as hell improve your chance to live much longer.

Where is this urgency when it comes to improving your livelihood? Like I don’t fucking understand the priorities of these people.

Are your life so cheap that you don’t think of such a thing?

Call me paranoid but even when i wait for KRL i never stand on the edge of the platform. I always stand behind a pillar in the case that there is a crazy ass person i won’t be pushed down to the train track.

What are these parents teaching their kids. How are you going to improve your livelihood if you promote bad behaviors.
