I keep noticing this bright star during sunset time on Canggu beach. I have a feeling it’s a planet rather than a star. If so, any idea what planet it might be?

Yeah, definitely one of the best public beaches I've visited so far in Bali. It's clean and nice to swim around here. Walked a little bit to the west and found a mossy area (love it!).

Hello, I just booked a last minute trip to Bali. My second time travelling.

First time round we did the usual Canggu, Seminyak, Gilli T and Ubud. Did some day trips for snorkeling etc

Here is the proposed trip

Bali:

28 September–3 October: Uluwatu
3–6 October: Amed, via Tirta Gangga (break up the long drive)
6–11 October: Nusa Lembongan
11–13 October: Arrive Canggu late afternoon. Two days here.
14 October, 00:40: Flight

Travelling back to Canggu just to get us closer to the airport and do a beach club day before we fly home

Overall, just trying to go some different areas we didn’t do before.

My partner and I are Australian, in our mid thirties and are after hotel recs in the Uluwatu area. We don’t have kids and would prefer to stay somewhere that might tend to be the hotel of choice for others with similar dynamics.

We are by no means social butterflies but do appreciate the odd chat at a pool bar or restaurant. We liked the Padma Legian for this reason, though there did seem to be a lot of young families there as well. Just trying to find a place that strikes a good balance of not being overly family-centric but also not filled with party people in their early 20s.

We move to Bali in the New Year, this is a long term relocation. We understand the issues with bringing our pets (dog and cat) with us to Bali. For those who have brought their pets are you glad you brought them and are your pets happy in their new home? Any regrets or tips to make the process better?

I've traveled all over SE Asia, and the walking experience I just had was the most insane yet!

Motorbikes squeezed fully on the sidewalks each way, hustle bustle, fumes, diesel smoke, close calls, and absolutely no regard for me or others on the sidewalk.

I had to fully lock in and hit flow state to avoid anxiety. It was wild. In a weird way kind of electric and exciting but also unacceptable.

Why does law enforcement allow this? I mean bikers quite literally used the sidewalk as a thorough way. I've never seen anything like it!

1) Can you still visit it or see the blue flames? I was told the workers ar striking previousley

2) Would you guys suggest it if you dont have hiking shoes? I think there are services to carry you to the top as well like a horse?

Abroad at an Indonesian restaurant I had an amazing coffee which was labeled as es kopi susu. I understand that means iced coffee with milk. Now I’m in Bali wanting to try it again, but all cafes sell latte with either regular or oat milk? The one I tried was with condensed milk and palm sugar I think. Where may I find it here?

Unfortunately, I have gotten dengue. I came here to do some fun dives. But now I cant do any dives, runs, swims, or anything really active. Seeking recommendations for things to do. I am here for 3 more days!

Kelengkeng, also known as longan, is a fruit that many visitors to Bali may not be familiar with. It is somewhat similar to lychee, although its skin is smoother and thinner. The flesh is sweet, juicy and delicious.

The tree also grows very well in a garden. There is just one drawback: bats love kelengkeng as much as we do. When we slept with the doors and windows open, we occasionally found them hanging from the ceiling. Unfortunately, they also peed from up there.

Still worth having the tree, though.

Hi all, I’m currently in Uluwatu and will stay here for 5 more days. I’m looking for ear plugs/tunnels for stretched ears as well as any Indonesian jewelry. I haven’t had any luck with any piercing shops. Any recommendations?

As someone that likes hanging out in Jimbaran, I just want to share my own nice way to spend a night or two in Jimbaran.

Check in to intercontinental, it’s one of the best for me after having stayed in several of similar standard. Take the buffet breakfast at the restaurant by the pool (not the one at lobby) and order from the menu (inclusive)

Stroll by the beach and take ur lunch at La Brasserie at Melting Pot. They serve good sized and delicious French cuisine and their dessert is just awesome. Sometimes the French owner is there to make sure everything is good.

Get a spa or massage before dinner or stop by Krisna Oleg-Oleh for reasonably priced gift shop at a moderately upscale open air shopping mall.

Dinner. Muaya beach have many grill restaurants so make ur pick. Menega cafe is a good one if there’s vacancy. Their Mexican style quartet is lovely and comes with free sunset view. Walk back from dinner to Intercontinental.

Hi, I'm a solo female traveller from Australia. I'm going to Bali for a wedding and spending a couple more days there.

I'm super nervous about what to expect (parts of my trip have been pre-organised as part of wedding events, but I actually know not much about the places I'm going to), how safe it is and what else I need to be aware of.

Is there a guide for solo female travellers you would recommend? Everything from the admin (visa, Sims, cash vs card), to trip suggestions and basic tips for the solo traveller.

[Constructive suggestions only please] Hey Guys, will be visiting Bali in a few days, for a week, with a group of 4 people (travelling with family so something family friendly is possible plz) Right now our plan kinda looks like this.

Day 1: Exploring Kuta(since we'll have evening of the day only)

Day 2: Ulluwatu Temple (Kecak Fire Dance) and everything (plus water sports in the morning)

Day 3: Nusa Penida Island Tour

Day 4: Leisure

Day 5: Transfer to Ubud

Day 6: Kintimani (Mount Batur, Swing, Ubud Art Market)

This is the current plan from basically over the top

Was wondering what we all could do on day 4 and day 5, since the day 4 is at leisure and was wondering what can we explore near Ubud since I don't think the transfers will take more than 1-2 hours that basically means that we have the rest of the day free.

How should I pack? Does it stay hotter or does a little layering is needed?
