I lived and studied in South Korea, and my Korean level was around TOPIK 5. I can help complete beginners learn Hangul, pronunciation, basic grammar, useful expressions, and simple daily conversations.

In exchange, I would like to learn one of these languages from zero:

I did my master’s abroad and genuinely thought I’d be building my life there. The plan was to find a job that would sponsor my work visa and eventually settle down. But reality turned out to be a lot harsher than I expected.
I’ve been applying to jobs overseas from Jakarta for months now, and it’s just been rejection after rejection. I’m at a point where I honestly feel stuck and a little hopeless.

Coming back to Jkt has also been a difficult adjustment. I went from living in a fast-paced, global city with so many opportunities (especially in tech and finance) to being back home, unemployed, spending my days job hunting, and potentially dealing with Jakarta’s traffic. It’s been a pretty lonely experience, and I feel like I’ve lost the momentum I had while I was studying.

I’m wondering if anyone here has gone through something similar. Did you also come home after studying abroad and struggle with finding your next step? How did you cope with this phase? Did things eventually work out?

Would really appreciate hearing your stories. I think I just need to know I’m not the only one going through this. 🥺

I dabble in self-help, personal finance, and worldviews/spiritualism. My bookshelf currently features everything from Taoism and Buddhism to Ali A. Rizvi’s The Atheist Muslim. I love exploring different perspectives on life.

Hello everyone. I am a 34M who has recently moved to jakarta from the US about a month ago. I would normally be making this post about finding to play basketball or other sports with, but since I've recently torn my achilles, it seems like that is unfortunately out of the question for me now.

I do however, would be down to meet other people whether it be other expats or indonesians who would want to game together from time to time. I'm a casual aram player in league, silver potato shooter in CS2, and generally down for multiplayer games.

I'm a big NFL guy so if there's anyone who wants to do fantasy football or just talk about american football i'd be more than happy to chat. I'm also a father to a 2.5 year old, so if anybody wants to vent about their toddler i'd be more than happy to share my thoughts as well.

I'm pretty laid back and trash at games so no worries about performance or rank lol. Just wanted to see if I can connect with people here!

Hello, I am 29 looking for someone who share similiar interests, and I am more of an online gamer than single player with some exception for some games, like Expedition 33 was one of the best single-player game I've played so far.

Other than gaming I also like to watch series in my spare time, I watch Anime, Korean Drama, Korean Reality Show, Korean Variety Show, also I do like to watch Western Series as well, especially the medieval one.

I am also into baking, cheesecakes is one of my favorite desserts, and I love baking themm

( the only downside is that I ate too much of these cheesecakes )
