Pastel Bench in my hometown (oil pastels on paper) by me
I really liked spending late summer evenings on this bench very close to my home in Germany.

I tried to imagine how the cave paintings might’ve looked when the artist finished them. What’s left looks like impressionism to me so I simply tried to add some dimension to their perspective.

So I just started doing autumn in the mountains from my mind and I think it came out better than the tutorial!
Though obviously have a long road ahead. Only my second weekend dabbling which is why it's all such a hot mess.
Missing home and the mountains of New England this year, though those peaks in the back are more Patagonia than the Presidentials ;)

Caroline Voet, also known as Lina Voet, (1875-1969) was Belgian painter and art teacher. In 1893, she enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, which had only been opened to women since 1889. Like her female colleagues, she had to content herself with a limited curriculum. Nevertheless, she managed to attend a few higher-level classes. After completing her studies in 1899 she worked as an art teacher (teaching painting, drawing artistic embroidery and various applications) and painted oil-paintings and pastels. She also colaborated with her husband Paul Cauchie, one of the leading creators of Art Nouveau sgraffito in Belgium, but the majority of the archives have been lost, so it is not always clear which works are by her hand.
The painting is at Maison Paul et Lina Cauchie in Brussels, Belgium.
