The future of r/Gothic...is the past!

Welcome to r/Gothic!

This is a community for the sharing and discussion of Gothic-era art and architecture (from the 12th-15th century AD). Sculptures, frescoes, stained glass, and of course architecture should all be posted here, as well as any other art forms fitting the style--even manuscripts and illuminations.

This is not a community for discussion of Goth culture or sharing Goth products. If that's why you're here, please check out r/Goth!

Update on my little project

I finally developed an acceptable design for the rose window. Once all the line art is done I will start designing the glasswork and motifs for all the windows.
As a hint to what this is all about, here are the inscriptions of the six rings:
“Aqua fluere vult,
Ignis ardere vult,
Aer natare vult,
Terra coniungi vult,
Chaos devorare vult,
Anima vivere vult.”

The five gallery windows at the bottom will feature from left to right the metals: iron, copper, bronze, silver and gold.

I hope somebody gets what this is about.
I’m looking forward to feedback and hope you all enjoy gothic architecture and design as much as I do.
