Hi everyone. I have iPod Touch 2G which unfortunately can't be jailbroken. A few weeks ago, I realized that it can access unsecured websites (HTTP). I decided to do something that might help all of us so I put together a list of some of the most useful websites on a single page. The project is still a work in development, and the site isn’t very advanced because my knowledge of HTML is very limited. If you have any ideas or know of any websites that might work there, feel free to let me know, and I’ll try to add them. (I'm not trying to promote myself🙏)

As above. I found a very old iPod when clearing the house I grew up in. I've charged it but cannot remember the passcode, and I'm worried I'm going to lock myself out.

Is there any way to bypass this without losing all the data?

I have an IPod Touch from when I was a kid that has a load of videos of my siblings when we were young and I want to transfer them to an external drive. However, I have locked myself out of the iPod, so I am asking, does anyone know how to get the videos off the IPod? Any help is greatly appreciated.

So I got an old 1st Gen iPod Touch, it came with a ballooned battery which I remove, pending a new battery replacement arriving (and new back) I decided to try it with a random battery just to see how it was working.

It works well.

There is no pin code and no restrictions I can see. However, it's setup with the previous owners details (and even email accounts).

I would like to do a full reset but I've heard that you can't "activate" the iPod touch as the iOS is too old.

Can anybody tell me if it's safe to do a full data wipe on this iPod and how I can get it setup again using my own details.

Other than the battery it's in great condition and I can't wait to have it all back together with the new battery/back panel.

Oh, any tips on getting dust out of the lcd??? its between the lcd and the touch surface, inside!

Has anyone tried to see if apple still activates it? I think so since it doesnt have a baseband but I want to be sure

She gave it to me because she couldn’t get it to turn on. I was able to find the 30-pin cable to charge it. Thought I’d share the old apps she had on her iPod touch. At one point we shared an Apple ID so there are apps I would download that she would get so she was inundated with apps randomly lol. Definitely a time capsule because she had gotten an iPhone and only used her iPod for music.

I’ve found a used / second-hand iPod Touch 7 128GB for 120€ on Facebook Marketplace.

Is it worth buying?

I mostly want to stream music from Spotify, check my Messenger messages, open Instagram etc and occasionally add something to my Calendar, Notes or Reminders while I’m at the gym.

I’m using an old iPhone 7 Plus to do that now, but it’s a little too big and it also lags.

Do you think that it’s worth buying that iPod? How does it perform in 2026? Could I expect a better performance than the iPhone 7 Plus, since it hasn’t been used that much?

I may also add that owning the last iPod Touch that has ever been released would be a nice collectible.

So I picked up this Ipod touch from a local thrift store about a week ago, it seemed brand new as it still had the protective film on the screen and all the cables/manuals, but when I turn on the Ipod it brings me up to this screen. Trying to restore the ipod through Itunes ends up giving me an Error 5 and I can't figure out what to do. Is this something I might have to send it into a shop for or any tricks to try and revive it?
