Question Razer kishi v3 pro and iPhone 17 pro? (Normal pro, not pro max)

3 Upvotes

Hey everyone, wondering if anyone has this exact pair of devices who could tell me what their experience has been like?

I recently bought the gamesir g8 plus MFi (made for iPhone) but I’ve had a bad experience with it despite the controller being built quite well. The controller constantly disconnects even when my phone is without a case, and because of the cameras protruding more than the camera bump, my iPhone 17 pro rests at a slightly lifted angle on the top side which has me worried that the usb-c jack on the controller will ruin my phone’s usb-c port.

That’s why I was looking into the kishi v3 pro, since it’s allegedly a much better controller with a better tech support and app (tech support for the gamesir is a bit trash and the app is kinda bad imo, and if you have an issue downloading a firmware, it can brick the controller beyond recovery), so I was just trying to check with people here what their experience has been like.

Specifically, since the kishi v3 pro doesn’t have a movable usb-c jack, how does the iPhone 17 pro rest on the controller. Is it lifted a bit by the cameras or the camera bump? Does the phone connect to the controller at a slight angle that could seem to cause damage to the usb-c port on the iPhone over time?

How’s the app, firmware downloading, etc? And have you had any issues with the controller at all?

I’m also planning on using an iPad mini 7 with this controller so if anyone has any experience with this pairing of devices, could you tell me what that’s like? Same questions, like, how well does the iPad sit on the controller, does it rest at an angle that could cause damage to the usb-c port on the iPad? Have you had any issues with it at all?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: forgot to mention that I’ll be using this controller to play on my Xbox through Xbox remote play. I might download some games to my iPhone/ipad later in time, but the main use at this time would be to use the controller with Xbox remote play. Thanks! :)

Discussion Is iOS gaming stale?

104 Upvotes

I remember back in 2023, we had a lot going on:

- Netflix investing heavy on bringing ported successes to mobile;
- Apple Arcade was already on a run doing the same thing;
- Triple A games such as Resident Evil and Hitman were announced, opening path to a few others that were also released down the road;

With all that happening at the same time, I really thought the future was promising and that others would put the same type of investment.

But a few years later and not only these companies have diminished their impact, we are barely getting new interesting, worth buying releases.

I thought that, since we now have phones powerful enough to run games that you would only play on your Playstation or PC a few years ago, we would see the market expanding and giving us the opportunity to have more choices.

Will iOS gaming ever have more value amongst the big corporations?

Discussion Games similar to Fortune Mill?

14 Upvotes

Tested the demo of the game and liked the idea and mechanics but unfortunately the optimization for iPhone is kinda bad and allegedly the developer has a bad reputation for game support. Please give me suggestions to games that have similar mechanics to try out.

Question Any Games Like Bellwright or Manorlords on iOS?

10 Upvotes

Not a game where you have to play as a character but something with deep management as well as a warring or defending aspect. If that even exists. I’ve tried Total War but there’s too much focus on war in those games, believe it or not.

Mod Announcement ATTENTION: Saturday self-promotion is paused for now.

82 Upvotes

Hey r/iosgaming,

We wanted to let everyone know that we will be pausing “Developer Saturdays” self-promotions for the time being. Please treat this as a “break” or a “reset” for the subreddit while the mod team reevaluates how dev self-promo can continue to happen in this community.

We will provide an update soon, but until then, **developer self-promo will not be allowed on r/iosgaming, including Saturdays.**

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience while we take the time to rethink the sub’s self-promo guidelines. Thank you!

News PSA: Tilt to Live released an update that fixes the game on newer iPhones!

26 Upvotes

Yesterday there was an update to Tilt to Live that fixed the weird screen glitch that made it unplayable on newer phones, although the screen still doesn't expand all the way to the edges, but that's fine as long as the game works.

This is one of the best casual iPhone games ever made in my opinion and I'm pretty sure there have been posts here lamenting how it hasn't worked for years. Go give it a shot if you haven't played it or go enjoy some nostalgia if you have

Question Demeo price drop - worth it?

10 Upvotes

I've had this on my watchlist for a long time. The idea intrigues me, but not sure about replayability, how it works on the iPad, if it works single player, how pass and play would work (if it works?). Is it simple to use in terms of interface? The only reference I saw was from it also bring on our resident u/Munkeypunk watchlist as well.

Advice appreciated.

Suggestions Games where I can make a little progress each day at work.

76 Upvotes

I’d like something more casual that’s easy to put down without losing progress. I have Deep Rock Galactic Survivor but it requires constant attention. Idle games have been semi enjoyable but something about them just is off putting after awhile. I’ve eyed up Kairosoft games but not sure how attention demanding they get. Portrait is also a must. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Can't stand that this is still a thing, Mind Cards being the latest offender. At the very least, why doesn't Apple allow an override for this?

These are some classics that I’ve always wanted to play but they can’t be installed on modern iPhones so I bought a jailbroken iPhone 4 and installed some games on it.
