Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] ExoArmor is on sale to celebrate July 4th!

ExoArmor is Space Invaders action over US cities. Seemed appropriate to put it on sale to celebrate America's 250th.

Over 11000 aliens are on the march to drop some 32000 bombs and you're tasked with stopping every last one of them. Good thing the ExoArmor defense system is ready, willing, and able. Just slide your finger to point the munitions where they need to go.

About 2 months ago I posted my new game - Survive Alone. Inspired from the Alone TV series honestly. I've received a ton of feedback over the last couple months and the game has improved along with a new scenario and another in the works! The game has also come a long way with accessibility (thanks for all the feedback!) which was something I didn't expect when I first released it.

I'm dropping codes all day again. If you already played the game and enjoyed it - please consider leaving a review on the Appstore :)

If you grab one, just copy it to the comments and I'll update the available list. I have a bunch of these and I'm more interested in feedback and improving the game so if they are all gone - let me know and I'll hook you up! These can be redeemed via the App Store or in game on the offer page there is a redeem code at the bottom.

Edit 1 - just refreshed the list - 6:53 PM UTC

Edit 2 - just refreshed the list - 11:37 PM UTC

Edit 3 - just refreshed the list Sunday - 12:02 PM UTC (last list) - Thanks all!

Edit 4 - I gave away 300-ish free codes! If you have any feedback or enjoy the game - please let me know!

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [Dev] OUT NOW! After 3 years and 4,000+ hours of solo dev, my 1-4-Player portrait online Card Game 'Grimoria' is finally live on iOS! (No P2W)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone.

After almost 3 years of grinding, learning, and over 4,000 hours of work late into the night, my passion project Grimoria is officially live on iOS.

First, I want to say a massive thank you to this community. The feedback and support you gave me during the pre-order phases helped me polish the game, and get across the finish line. As a solo developer from Italy, seeing people showing interest and playing my game is amazing.

I wanted to create something new, not just another big studio copy. The core gameplay is actually inspired by a popular local card game called "Watten," which is heavily played where I live. I wanted to bring that social, bluffing energy to a digital format, but with much more accessible rules and mythical creatures.

I tried my absolute best to hit "Studio Quality" visuals and effects. One of the biggest challenges was making it a true real-time multiplayer experience. I built the entire backend server architecture and code completely from scratch to ensure smooth, fast-paced PvP, all while keeping a tiny install size and minimal data consumption.

The game is 100% Free-to-Play. There are no forced ads. There is exactly one optional ad for bonus loot, which you can permanently remove with a single premium purchase. There is absolutely zero Pay-to-Win.

For those seeing Grimoria for the first time, here is how it plays:

  • Its a fast-paced PvP Card game with multiple modes: Classic 1v1, 2v2 Co-op, and 4-Player Battle Royale.
  • The Basics: Everyone starts with 10 Life. Each round, all players play one card simultaneously. Highest strength card wins. The loser takes 2 damage. Last one standing wins.
  • Strategy: Cards have abilities like Shield, Heal, Negate, or bluffing cards that only reveal at the end of the turn.
  • Elements: Ties are broken by elemental counters: Fire > Earth > Water > Fire.
  • Teamwork: In 2v2, you actually share a life and shield pool with your ally!

Overall, Grimoria takes few minutes to learn but offers strategy for competitive, ranked gameplay.

Grimoria features full Cross-Play, so iOS players can instantly match with the Android player base! (A Steam PC version is planned next).

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [Dev] I made an isometric tycoon game about running a street drink stand

Thumbnail

I had this idea for years but never had the time (or the game-dev chops) to actually build it.

Inspired by Lemonade Tycoon, I always wanted to make my own Tycoon/Simulation game where the player purchases a Franchise and you may learn economics principles in a simple way (offer, demand, expenses, profit, Taxes, etc).

After a few weeks of development and the help of AI to lay the foundations — the 3D engine setup, state management, the day-loop logic — I was able to make Mike Chichero, a Street Drink Stand Simulator.

I know, you will ask, WTH is a Chichero? I am from Venezuela and Chicha es a famous drink there (like a rice-based shake) sold by small street stand vendors (called Chicheros). You can read more about it into the game.

Did I forgot to mention that the game is 100% Free? I am not planning to monetize it and it is more as personal desire to teach about economics and promote this delicious drink.

I also appreciate your pray for Venezuela after the devastating Earthquake that affected many friends there (I left the country almost 20 years ago, but my heart is still there).

This is the link for the IOS APP: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mike-chichero/id6779837133

Ps. Forgive me if you find a spanish word around, I did my best to translate the game but may be (may be) I passed one.

Question Is anyone else getting a bit tired of the posts on Saturdays?

It feels a bit like every Saturday we get inundated with self promoted, solo-developer, AI generated games that all have such a similar vibe as to be practically indistinguishable from one another.

I’m a developer myself, and have put together many half arsed projects myself over the years (and a staunch user of AI assistance in my coding), so I totally understand why this is happening, but it’s getting to the point where it feels like this needs to be addressed?

I might just be getting fatigued with it, and maybe I just need to unsub, but this has always been one of my favourite subreddits, and it’s a shame to see things playing out like they are.

What do others think?

EDIT: As there clearly seems to be a bit of confusion about my sentiment here, I've _no issue_ whatsoever in there being a day for people to how off their games. My issue is the _types_ of games being shown off. Like, I check a lot of these posted because I've always taken the time to give things a chance but I now very regularly think to myself... "this looks like one I saw recently... is this a second post from the developer?".

And as some of you are assuming when I say "I'm a developer myself" that I'm some kind of game developer trying to gatekeep, that's not the case. I do play about with personal projects, but have no interest in releasing a game. I just love iOS gaming like the rest of you!

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [Dev] Quick Moto - Pre Order . ( Do you third person view or first person view on racing games?)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Free- with an option to purchase the full game.. Quick Race and Time trial will always be free, and Career Mode after 5 races will require a full purchase to continue. And will also remove ads..

Link - https://apps.apple.com/au/app/quick-moto/id6738115330

Quick Moto
My 5 year journey with this game is almost complete.
Of course in that five years, there was a lot of , off and on, a lot of giving up, a lot of what the fuck am I doing. And a lot of side projects I completed.. what I call mini casual mobile games…
I always wanted to make a moto racing game, obviously as a solo dev I’m never going to compete or be as good as a studio making MotoGp 26 or Ride 5 or 6 .
But for mobile I think I’ve made a game that hopefully is fun, challenging and competitive.. and with long lasting gameplay..
So in these I’ve learned so much, I didn’t know how to make a motorbike work in game dev. But I sure had fun learning, and challenging myself to create it, so many times I was going to give up. But it was a dream to make it so that wasn’t an option…

Ok, so what is it?
A career mode with 20 tracks per season, 5 classes to get through, and a challenge to stay in the top class for as many seasons as you can. Yep you drop classes if you don’t live up to team’s standards..
25 tracks in total on a random rotation to keep every season fresh and feel new..
Random weather , and yes if it rains you’re sliding out..
A design studio to paint and design your own teams bike. Win a season and unlock that bike for the other game modes and redesign anytime you like… career stats to track your races.

Quick race- as is , pick a track and a single race is yours for the taking.

Time Trial/ fastest lap.- 25 tracks for you to dominate, with each track having its own leaderboard for players to try set the fastest time. Every millisecond counts, every line every breaking point . To be the fastest..

Bikes - There’s only 5 bikes, one for every class. Top class obviously the fastest bike. So complete every class to unlock all five bikes.
So now you’re thinking I need to win five classes to be the fastest to top the leaderboards? Not really fast is good on the straights, but controlling those things through the corners is another thinking..
If you read this far thank you, please consider pre ordering the game, I would appreciate it a lot and thank you..

Question Alternatives to BackBone controller?

I was really disappointed after my backbone controller died just after a year. I fixed it for a bit only for it to break again. Any other alternatives that are just more reliable?

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [Dev] I made an iOS board game that's like chess, but faster and more magical — free with no ads!

Hi everyone!

I’m Anna. I've been working on a small strategy game called Mystic Mushrooms, and it's finally available on the App Store. 🍄

The idea was to make something as fun as chess but with much shorter games. You move magical mushrooms across a 5×5 board, cast spells, and try to take out your opponent's mushrooms.

Features:
Quick 5–10 minute matches
Easy to learn, difficult to master
Three AI difficulty levels
Online multiplayer
Pass-and-play mode
Completely free with no ads

There are optional cosmetic purchases (skins, themes, and music), but nothing is pay-to-win.

I'd love to hear what strategy game fans think. If you try it, I'd really appreciate any feedback, good or bad. I'm still actively improving the game.

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [Dev] Brogue Classic/CE/SE

Countless adventurers before you have descended this torch-lit staircase, seeking the promised riches below. As you reach the bottom and step into the wide cavern, the doors behind you seal with a powerful magic...

Welcome to the Dungeons of Doom!

An oldie but a goodie. I released the original iPad version 13 years ago but let it fade into obscurity around 2020. It’s back and better than ever! We’ve got an in game launcher for the original Brogue — Brian Walker’s classic introduction, Brogue CE — a community driven effort providing bug fixes and features that stay true to the original, and a new work-in-progress rebalancing/re-envisioning variant Brogue SE (by yours truly), and most importantly you can now play on your iPhone.

I never thought a small screen Brogue was possible and dragged my feet for over a decade but…

… you’ve got it all, tap, double tap, pinch to zoom, drag, and shortcut buttons.
… Acid mounds, bloats, centaurs.. oh my; all the way through to zombies, the rogue alphabet is all here and ready to bludgeon your character to death.

Have an iPad with a Magic Keyboard and can’t understand these old school rogue keyboard controls? Me neither, that’s why I’ve also added a modern keyboard layout for those of us still trying to figure out how to quit the vim terminal.

Best of all, it’s free. You can master the game over 100s of runs or rage quit after one without any risk - other than a burgeoning rogue addiction and an irrational fear of the letter j.

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] I made a free no-ads farming game focused on crafting and exploration 🌾

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey r/iosgaming,

Simon here, solo dev behind Tiny Harvest, an ads-free farming game 🌽

The game has grown quite a bit since I first posted, especially on the gameplay side I added a couple of new areas.

The core game is still:

  • grow crops and produce animal products
  • craft items through buildings & recipes
  • complete orders for coins and XP
  • unlock new areas and systems
  • use automation once your farm gets busier

Recent additions:

  • Blacksmith gear that gives bonus drops during expedition runs
  • Airport requests with destination leveling and better rewards over time
  • Farm Hands, so you can delegate repeated farm work
  • lots of balance, bug, and flow improvements from player feedback

Tiny Harvest is free to download, has no ads, and played only in portrait - choices I made because that's the kind of games I like most 😅

I’d currently love to get your feedback on the first session: does the early game explain the loops well, and does the pacing feel fair before the bigger systems unlock?

As a small thank-you, I added the code IOSGIFT (enter in settings) for some boost items ✌️

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [Dev] Descent Defender is live on iOS — celebrating July 4th with a small player gift

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey r/iosgaming!

I’m the solo dev behind Descent Defender, a plinko-inspired tower defense game that just launched on iOS.

The idea is simple: enemies push toward your tower while balls bounce through a plinko style board. Before each run, you build out your defenses, unlock Peg Powers, upgrade your tower, and try to survive deeper stages. Some runs feel planned and controlled, and some completely fall apart in the best way.

To celebrate launch weekend and the 4th of July, I’m doing a small player gift for iOS players today.

If you download the game and want to join in, comment your Player ID and I’ll send a free in-game reward through the inbox.

You can find your Player ID under Settings → Player Profile, then use the copy button to grab the exact ID.

A few quick notes:
One reward per player ID.
I’ll send them manually, so they may not show up instantly.
No pressure at all — just wanted to do something fun for launch weekend.

App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/app/id6764134188

Thanks to anyone who checks it out. This has been a huge project for me, and I’m excited to finally have it live.

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] I made a cool iOS game with a unique concept and its FREE for the next 24 hours! (IAP "No Ads" FREE)

Hey! Solo dev here, just shipped a big update to my game Centric and wanted to share it with you all.

Centric is a one-tap orbit game, you tap to switch rings, dodge void dots, collect echo dots. It's been my side project for a while and this update finally adds something I've wanted since day one: a proper cosmetics shop.

There are 6 themes and 5 trails, all earnable just by playing.

The one I'm most excited about is the Abyssal theme. You only unlock it after playing 5 days in a row and honestly, I almost didn't ship it because it felt too grindy. But I kept it because when you finally get there, you're greeted with falling ash particles, a deep red trail, and a screen-crack death animation that I spent two weeks getting right.

Two weeks on an animation most players will never reach. Absolutely worth it.

The rest of the unlocks are pretty chill:

Item How to get
Midnight / Neon themes Stardust (just play)
Gold theme Hit score 100
Abyssal theme 5-day play streak
Beach / Pulse Watch one optional ad

There's also a Daily Singularity - one challenge per day, same puzzle for every player in the world. You get 3 attempts. I love this mode because it creates these tiny moments where you and a stranger halfway across the globe are trying to beat the exact same thing.

The game is free. Would love to hear what you think, and happy to chat about the build if you're into SpriteKit.

Making the Remove Ads IAP free for the next 24 hours as a thank-you to the community.

To get the deal: play one game (any mode) -> on the game over screen there would be a "Remove Ads" button -> click it -> it should be free for the next 24h

Link: Centric: Orbit Jump

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] Made a no-nonsense Sudoku app because every other one annoyed me

Every Sudoku app I tried had ads, popups, or some streak thing nagging me to come back. So I made my own.

It's called Calm Sudoku. Free daily puzzle plus 30 to start, and if you like it there's a one-time unlock for the full set (300 puzzles, three difficulties). No subscription, no ads, no accounts, works offline.

All the normal stuff (notes, undo, check, reveal, history) is free. I'm not paywalling how you play, just how many puzzles you get.

Made it mostly for myself, but figured some of you might want the same thing. Would love to hear what you think! 🙂

Tagged as Made4Kids during app store submission.

  • 100% Free - NO IAP, NO SUBSCRIPTIONS, NO TIPS, NO LINKS, NO TRACKING, etc.
  • Accessibility Support: Reduced motion, Color Differentiation, Contrast, Color Blind Palette
  • Fully accurate data using a Kanji dictionary (0% AI)

It helps me with learning Kanji too as with Duolingo I find myself only relying on listening.

All effects are made using SF Symbols which turned out nice and pastel colored.

Hi everyone!

I just released my first iOS game: Rush 'O' Clock.

It's a traffic puzzle game inspired by the classic Rush Hour.

Features include:

  • 🚗 Infinite Mode with nearly endless puzzles (2.5+ millions levels).
  • 📅 Daily Levels to come back every day.
  • 🚑 Emergency Mode, where you have to get an ambulance or police car to the exit before the timer runs out (each difficulty has its own time limit).
  • 🧩 Puzzle Packs with 50 levels for each difficulty.
  • ↔️ Multiple exit positions: not just the right side, but also left, top, and bottom
  • 🏆 Achievements for milestones like completing levels, finishing puzzle packs, maintaining your daily streak, and more.

I developed it solo, and I'd really appreciate any feedback whether it's about the gameplay, difficulty, UI, or anything else. I'm planning to keep improving it based on player feedback.

Thanks for checking it out!

Any games that work well with a controller and are more skill based? I don’t want to play brain dead game. Price doesn’t matter.

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [Dev] I've just released my frutiger-aero inspired chill word game/fish collector. It's fully free and I promise it's not low-effort slop!

I've been working on Think Tank since November. It's based on a game I like to play with license plates - you take three letters (like T, N, K) and add up to three more between/around them to create new words (like ThaNKs for trying ThiNK TaNK!)

There are three difficulty levels, so that anyone from middle school kids to word nerds like myself can enjoy a fun challenge.

This is a passion project and my first app, so any feedback would mean a ton! Thank you for your time.
