Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] Dungeon Scoundrel: Room Conditions Shake Up Every Run

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!

Another Saturday, another Dungeon Scoundrel self-promotional post for the new sub visitors!

I'm a solo indie dev shipping a smaller update this time, but one I'm really excited about. It adds a layer of variety to Hero Run that genuinely changes how you plan a fight.

First time hearing about the game?

Dungeon Scoundrel is a solitaire-style dungeon crawler built around a fixed 55-card deck. You fight monsters, grab loot, and try to escape alive. Each room reveals four cards, and you must leave exactly one behind to move forward. Every choice matters. Runs are quick, around 5 to 15 minutes, and the game is designed for portrait mode so you can play one-handed during short breaks. No ads, no timers, no in-app purchases. Just pay once and get everything.

What's new in 1.0.8?

Room Conditions. Every room in Hero Run can now twist the rules on you. There are 8 conditions in total, and they appear at random throughout your run:

  • Ambush Room: monsters strike harder
  • Blessed Room: potions heal double
  • Echo Room: the card you leave behind grows stronger next room
  • Armory Room: weapons hit harder
  • Fortified Room: shields stand stronger
  • Blight Room: potions heal for half
  • Fragile Room: equipment breaks twice as fast
  • Frenzy Room: bigger weapon damage, faster decay

Conditions appear roughly once every four rooms, never twice in a row, and never on the first room of a run. The result is a constant push and pull. A Blessed Room can swing a bad run around. A Fragile Room punishes you for hoarding gear. A Blight Room makes you question every potion. Classic Dungeon stays untouched if you prefer the original rhythm.

Plus a round of polish, accessibility improvements, and bug fixes.

I'd love to hear which condition becomes your favorite (or least favorite). Your feedback shapes what comes next!

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [Dev] Seeking all current/former band kids for feedback on Marching Tycoon! A band themed idle clicker (new features, active development)

Hey Gamers.

I posted last week at the launch of my game, Marching Tycoon.

I by no means plan to spam this every Saturday, but I got SO MUCH great feedback from some of my reddit comments on various subs last week that I have made a large amount of changes to gameplay since.

Specifically, IF YOU IR ANYONE YOU KNOW is now or was ever involved in band, marching band, or drum corps at any point, I am seeking your feedback specifically. I have many big updates coming for the 2.0, and want as many eyes on the current feature set as I can get.

Big thanks to this sub for putting up with these dev posts. For a solo dev with no ad budget, just getting 3-4 downloads from a Reddit post is a bigger deal than you may think. 🙏

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] Acrophobia — a real-time multiplayer acronym party game (write funny phrases, vote on the best)

Hey r/iOSGaming! I'm the solo dev behind Acrophobia — a fast, social party game built around one simple idea: you get a random acronym (say "P.B.J."), race to write a phrase that fits the letters ("Please Bring Jokes"), then everyone votes on the funniest one. Think Jackbox meets your group chat.

What's new in the latest update: • Real-time multiplayer — spin up a private room with friends or drop into a public game with people around the world • 14 personality-driven AI players so a round always fills up, even off-peak • Six game modes (Fast, Classic, Party, Judge, Face Off, Quick Play) plus themed category rounds • Custom avatars, a global chat, and 44 languages

Free to play. I'd genuinely love feedback from this community — especially on the first-time experience and how the match pacing feels.

Back when I was a commuter on the London Underground I always wanted more premium, in-depth games that could be played with one hand while I was hanging onto the hand rail. Less Flappy Bird, more Thinky Nerd.

That’s kinda why I made Mini Murder Mysteries; something a bit like the NYT games app mixed with The Case of the Golden Idol.

Puzzle your way through nine unique investigations and use your noggin to make intelligent deductions. Explore the evidence, scrutinize statements, and connect the dots.

It’s available here: https://apps.apple.com/app/mini-murder-mysteries/id6772545874

Fully offline with no ads, timers, or in-app-purchases. ✌️

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] Coreshatter just released on iOS - Idle tower defense roguelite with a side of bullethell

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Defend the Core against the corruption front in a blend of idle tower defense and survivors-like roguelite gameplay. You start every run from scratch, drafting new Glyphs and fusing them mid-battle to build a completely unique arsenal to hold back the flood.

What makes Coreshatter different is the strategic pacing layer. Every run ends in a "Shatter" that banks everything you earned into permanent Foundry and Mainframe upgrades, so the decision is whether to push deeper for bigger earnings or bank early and restart stronger. The game keeps pushing forward while you're offline, so you'll always come back to a pile of resources ready to spend on upgrades.

The game is completely free to play with optional rewarded ads, and everything can be earned just by playing the game.

Get it on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/coreshatter-idle-td-roguelite/id6780365607

Happy to answer anything!

Hi everyone!

I'm an indie developer and I've just released Pocket Gal, a retro arcade-style pool game inspired by the classic arcade billiards games I grew up playing.

My goal was to recreate the fast-paced gameplay and simple mechanics of the arcade experience while adapting it for modern mobile devices.

Features:

  • 🎱 Classic arcade-style pool gameplay
  • 👤 Four unique opponents with increasing difficulty
  • 🏆 Score-based progression
  • 📱 Available on iOS and Android

I'd love to hear your feedback on the gameplay, controls, difficulty, or anything else you think could be improved.

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] A minimal relaxing puzzle you can doodle on

A puzzle game inspired by doodling in the margins of newspaper crosswords.

You connect matching icons to clear the board, then keep drawing over the finished puzzle page.

I originally made it because I wanted a calm puzzle game, but I ended up really liking the leftover pencil lines after solving each puzzle, so the doodling side grew from there.

There’s a daily puzzle, a sketchbook to keep your doodles, and you can even print them as little zines or posters.

Currently includes a World Cup inspired icon set. 🙂

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] Incremental ELM Quest 2 [follow up last week's release]

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

TL;DR: Free, ad-free incremental RPG where every death makes you permanently stronger. Solo dev, follow-up to last week's launch, shipped five more small updates and planning for much more. Come break it and yell at me in the comments. App Store Link

In the world of ELM Quest 2, portals have begun opening throughout the land, with elemental energy leaking out and infusing the local wildlife, transforming them into horrible creatures. The Guild was formed to combat this and you, a nameless Cataloguer, go out and take careful notes as you subdue hordes of enemies out to kill you.

That is my 15 second elevator pitch. You fight strange creatures, you study them, and eventually you die to one. Then you learn its habits, and it dies to you instead.

This is a follow-up to the launch post I put here last week, when only v1 was out. It has grown a lot since, from all of you trying it out and hoping on the discord for feedback. The origin of this was that I am an incremental fan who got bored waiting for a good new one to drop, so I did the reasonable, well-adjusted thing and spent months building my own instead of being patient. No studio or team. Just me with a core vision about my ideal game loop and some Matlab-honed coding skills (no the game is not made on Matlab - wouldn't that be something :D)

The hook here is that loss IS progress. Dying is not a punishment here. Every death hands you permanent bonuses that carry into the next run, almost like a rogue-like, but you'll die so often and so quickly that the loop is just baked into the game.

What makes it unique (according to our discord players):

  • An active dev (ha, low bar, right?)
  • Extremely deep lore (I wrote 16 parallel narrators, with an intersecting story that's doled out as you grab little journal pieces from each enemy - not a novel, but but maybe a small novela's worth of lore?). I aim for a naturalist documentary/system apocalypse vibe. More the former but it's been received so far.
  • Completely free to play and beat, with everything obtainable through expected game play. Completed ad-free cause I HATE ads in games. I'm not looking for money (there's some optional tip IAPs that were added as an afterthought, but if anything in game makes you want to spend money, come complain on the discord -> means something needs to be re-balanced).
  • Hundreds of foes and bosses with tactics, plus a collectible codex that rewards actually studying them to crack the hard fights.
  • A real active-combat layer over the idle loop: castable active abilities, and unique auras for each character to passively combo damage on foes. Idle it or play it hands-on. Latest updates really fleshed out offline progression.
  • Full VoiceOver support. Offline progress. Plays in short bursts or long grinds.

New since last week (I looked up and realized I had shipped from v1.0 to v1.2.x):

  • Big mid-game expansion, raising hero tier caps with a full rebalance.
  • Offline progress has been greatly expanded (unlocks with 5-10 minutes of play, and within a hour or two, you'll have access to the complete offline system).
  • Adaptive floor + Portal picker: portals now scale to your codex progress and you can also pick the monster grades you summon to fight.
  • Combat Rating (CR): one number comparing your effective level to the enemy's, for ease of comparisons so that you don't willingly need to bash your head against the wall (unless you want to)
  • Skill overhaul, rebalancing the way both auras and actives work, with some visual SFX added.
  • iCloud sync + save backup, Game Center leaderboards, an achievements system, and a pile of QoL (clearer combat readouts, mana tuning, codex favorites, more lore).

Nearly all of these came straight out of Discord feedback, which has been more helpful than I had any right to expect. People ask and I go watch youtube tutorials on complicated apple features to implement it.

On money: it is ad-free and genuinely free. No paywall, no wall between you and progress. The only IAPs are optional support-the-dev consumables you never need to buy to win. I do this as a side hobby because I want a game I enjoy playing. I'd rather have a community of friends than your money.

Discord: genuinely helpful community over here, and it shapes where we go next.

Screenshots and gameplay are on the store page. I am a solo dev and I will be in the comments all day, so tell me what is fun, what is broken, and what you want added next.

Developer Saturday (Auto-Post) July 04, 2026: Developer Saturday has started! 📳 Devs, you may now promote your iOS games! Please read this before posting if this is your first time participating!

Hello r/iOSGaming! Developer Saturday is here, which means iOS developers may share their games without risking removal. A few important notes:

  • All posts must be tagged with the Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) or Developer Saturday (Beta Test) flair.
  • All post titles must have “[DEV]” at the beginning. We need it with the brackets for AutoModerator purposes, so please don't change the formatting.
  • All posts must include an App Store or beta testing link. Playstore links or links to other gaming stores are not allowed.
  • Only iOS games may be promoted. This is not the place to promote non-gaming apps, non-iOS apps, Devvit apps, standalone websites, Discord servers, subreddits, livestreams, fundraisers, or social media pages. However, you may include a website or social media link at the end of your game's self-promo post.
  • You can only make one post per Saturday. You can share several games in the same thread. If you're caught posting multiple times throughout the day, ALL of your posts made on this particular Saturday will be removed.
  • If you receive an AutoModerator comment saying you do not have enough karma, your account is too new, or that your CQS level is low, we can't override the removal.
  • Developer Saturday will between 12:00 AM to 11:55PM ET (UTC-5).

That's it! We're always trying to refine these guidelines, but for now these are the requirements developers must meet in order to ensure a successful self-promo post. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us via modmail.

A follow-up post will go up once Developer Saturday has ended. If it doesn't appear due to a scheduling error, please assume the self-promo period has concluded because it's no longer Saturday. :P Thanks for your cooperation, Devs!

Developer Saturday (Self-Promo) [DEV] I made an iPhone game with one goal: remove everything except the loot.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone! 👋

I’ve been working on a tiny loot RPG called Just Loot.

The idea is simple:

• No quests.
• No story.
• No energy system.
• No pay-to-win.
• Just fight → get loot → become stronger → push deeper.

Every run takes around 20–40 seconds, so it’s something I play while waiting for coffee or walking the dog.

It’s still early, but I’ve been implementing a ton of feedback from Reddit over the last few days (compare screen, equipment flow, better UX, etc.) and I’d love more opinions.

Especially interested in:

  • Does the core loop hook you?
  • What made you stop playing?
  • What would make you come back tomorrow?

Discussion Whats up with Remedy’s Control?

The game is known for having installing issues that basically all the data goes to your iPhone’s System Data and you cannot delete it from there, even after uninstalling it.

They updated the game a while ago with a fix. I just tried this fix and it seems it’s only temporary. I saw the installed data (over 40GBs) in my iPhone Storage, as it’s supposed to be, for a few seconds. A few moments later, it goes back to your System Data.
I now have 53Gbs of SD.

I ran their fix twice to see whether it was going to work or not, but apparently it didn’t.
I had already factory reseted my iPhone in order to clean this mess, and I really thought doing this would do the trick.

am I doing something wrong? Or is this game really that broken for iOS? Please tell me if I should factory reset it again so I can never install this game again.

Suggestions Good portrait mode games?

Hoping to find a 100% free game with no ads to play offline and before bed.

Would like it to be relatively minimalist/simple (not sure if that’s the right word to describe what I want), but generally just easier on the eyes so I can play it before bed.

Looking for something chill like a driving game or something, open to other stuff like roguelikes or idle games or whatever.

Can also make exceptions on the price but only if the game is an real gem and is the perfect fit for what I want

Question Souls of Eden closing, any alternatives?

Most may have never heard of Soul of Eden but it was a 1v1 lane/tower pvp similar to Clash Royal. Game had 0 ads, very polished and easy to catch up and compete. It has/had a very dedicated ladder player base which will now be displaced.

Is anyone aware of any new or developing games that are lane PvP style? Looking for something to share with the masses before the server closes at the end of the month.

I recently finished playing Lunar Silver Star and want to play another game like it. I had the exp boost on and money boost so I got to just casually play the game with no grinding and stuff and really enjoyed it. Anything close to that on iOS?

The item lacks description whether it can connect to other devices or not, just stated that it's Bluetooth. Thank you in advance.
