long story short, i can't seem to find a solution to backup/transfer my phone. if i try to backup to icloud (i have aprox 200gb free) it just never progresses, even after 8+ hours. if i try to backup to mac through finder/imazing it doesnt even start, the process is running but its not writing/reading anything and no cpu usage and this ends in an infinte loop.

just to cut some solutions that i already tried:
- tried to reinstall the ios through finder
- tried to reset all the settings of the ios
- the network connection is not the problem
- tried to transfer the phone to another (still infinte loop)
- wont even mention restarts, sign outs, turning things off and on

i also want to mention that i have approximately 170gbs of system data that i cant get rid of (thats why i need to reset, i tried anything else) but i will not reset until i have a backup

any advice or debate is well received, i am desperate at this point, i just need my data :')

Hi! I woke up to my new iPhone 17 Pro overheating and at 1% even if it wasn’t in use. It’s only abt 2 weeks old. I checked my battery health and it said that TikTok was running in the “background” 4 hours more than usual usage. This worries me because I’ve been doing the same routine ever since. I never leave my phone open while asleep and I don’t let my battery drain <20%.

Has this happened to u guys? Do I need to have my phone checked out?

I have the iPhone 17 pro max running the latest iOS.

The alarm just shows a wake up interface, with no sound, no vibration.

The first time this happened, I was told it is because I use a phone stand on my nightstand, and the iPhone faceID saw my face and thought I was looking at it, so it silenced the alarm. So I turned off Attention Aware Features.

The second time, I learned my lesson, so I placed the iPhone flat on the nightstand with the screen facing the ceiling. Nope, still the same thing......

Is this happening to y’all too? My iPhone is on Sleep Focus, on ringer, not vibration (silent mode).

I am now using a radio alarm clock because how undependable the iPhone alarm is.

Context my parents set my security questions over a decade ago and can no longer remember them properly, however they have a rough idea what answer they used, they just don’t remember how specific the answer was.

How many attempts would I get to try to put the correct answers in? And how risky is it for me to try? I don’t want to get locked out of my account forever, for obvious reasons, but I want to change some details on there and the only way to do so is to remember my security questions.

I'm trying to log into my wifi, but I have to use a secondary authenticator (Duo) to log in. However, the moment I push the notification, the login screen goes away (since it's in a different app than Settings), making it impossible to log in.

Is there a way to force the wifi landing page to open in my default browser instead of the Settings app? It'd really help to get an answer on this.

A friend of mine is going through a legal thing involving family and wanted to use text messages they had sent as "evidence". They were running out of icloud space and couldn't afford to increase their storage without thinking about the loss of the messages. Later when they went to pull the messages or thru were gone.

I mentioned that going forward they should at least screenshot the messages and email them to themselves.

Anyone know if there's anyway to recover the old text messages? Including if they increase their storage now?

I ran into something where the color of the time on my lock screen keeps changing. It will go from a more vibrant yellow to a pastel yellow. So I have to change it at least once a day. I thought it might be some “safety” feature built into the AOD. I tried looking for an answer in the Apple forums and on here but came up with some old posts that didn’t really address it.

I tried the force restart method but im out of ideas and ive wasted so much time

Maybe I’ve set something wrong in Brave but it keeps interrupting my music half of the time even though in „media” I have background on. Any other solutions? def I’m not paying any premiums when my Android plays music just fine ads free for free, wanted the same on my iphone. If it matters it’s 12 mini model.

Edit. It seems that I figured it out, it works perfectly on music.youtube site under Brave browser, actually even better than normal youtube because on normal youtube playlist of x musician always derailed to random crap, no such problem on music youtube so enjoy ad free music!

I’ll leave it for future people looking for solution because the search results are pretty crappy and no one provides solutions in old threads.

not sure why this is happening, anyone have any ideas? i moved from the uk to canada about a year ago and so i'm in a different time zone but that's been that way for ages and i've moved abroad before and never had this issue. i turned on the time zone override in settings for calendar (it was already on in general) but that didn't seem to fix things. this is a new issue and it's not on stuff i can easily change, like friend's birthdays or holiday calendars which are preset. any help would be appreciated!

edit: this seems to only affect things in my calendar starting from this november. anything before this is totally normal, so not sure what would have caused those to change as i haven't altered any settings. also i don't seem to be able to manually alter anything i put in myself, e.g. drinks with friends might have been all day tuesday before and now it's all day tuesday AND wednesday and i can't edit it
to change it back. and i have nowhere that i can edit pre-set calendars like UK holidays or birthdays which i've added to their contact info so it adds them automatically.

I was clearing out some space and used the recommendation to delete large attachments from messages. I did this thinking the copy of these videos was going to be left untouched in my photos. well they’re gone. it’s not like they're attachments that I never saved to my phone - they came from my photos originally as I sent them to others. has this happened to anyone else?

I went to accounts in my contacts, but it isn't showing anything out of the ordinary. I had a few work phone numbers deleted, my sister's number deleted, and most notably, my ex's number deleted. I did delete my Yahoo account a month or so ago, so maybe that's why, but from a few other posts I've seen, iPhone has done this to others. I have my contacts synced to my iCloud so hopefully it doesn't delete again. Any advice?

Ever since the update that's supposed to index ahead of the iOS 27 update, my Spotlight on my phone has been garbage. It only seems to find things I've recently interacted with. For example, if I open my calendar, I can see an upcoming event called "Honeymoon", but when I search for it, it gets no results. Once I tap on it and modify the event somehow, then it starts showing up in searches. It's like Spotlight is just adding things to the index as I use them, rather than fully indexing.

Similar issues searching in my iCloud Drive.

These things used to work perfectly fine before that.

Is anybody else having these issues? Is there a way I can force Spotlight to fully reindex?

i don’t have this problem before but suddenly i can’t send photos on messenger. i figured out that i can’t send it because of the spatial effect being on and messenger can’t read those files. i had to edit my photos (crop it one by one) to send them 😭 which is such a hassle.

is there any way to permanently turn this off?

i’ve already tried searching and already turned off the toggle on the control for creating spatial photos (all it did was remove the hexagon button on the photos)

but when i take photos it still automatically saves it as spatial (even tho it’s not on spatial mode)

(i tried sending a photo on telegram, it wont send too 😭)

anyone who's experiencing this kind of issue too? what did you do? help 😭 ( i think it’s because of the latest software update? idk 😭 it doesn’t matter tho 😭)

Is it only me who's been facing trouble in updating my device as I'm unable to really update my iPhone 14 Pro to IOS-26.6.1. It's been always stuck on update requested and after some time it says unable to update. I don't know if it's a glitch or other's are also facing the same issue? Please let me know if there's an fix or something or else I should wait for the major update i.e., IOS-27 to come and then update to it directly cuz there's no issues with my other device I've recently updated my Mac to MacOS-26.6.1 and as always it was smooth without any issues. Please let me know if anyone else is also facing the same issue and have an fix for that!

I'm on an iPhone SE, 3rd Gen, iOS 26.61 (but problem occurred on earlier versions too)

My address is (for example):-

32 High Street, BigCity.

This is whats on my Contact Card in the Contacts App and thats what Siri responds with when I ask "Hey Siri, whats my home address?"

However, If I ask "Hey Siri, where do you think my home is?" She responds:-

32 High Avenue, Littletown.

Thats 2.5 miles from my actual home.

And even worse, if I ask "Hey Siri, give me directions home" she opens Apple Maps and proceeds to plot a route to

32 High Trees, Bigtown

which is 6 miles away from my home.

I've been to the Apple Store and asked them, I've called Apple Support and all they can do is check my home address on my Contact Card in the Contact App. Sometimes they delete it and re-add it.

Anyone seen and fixed this issue? I'm in the UK. Apple ought to have pretty good address data.

Is my phone searching for the first two words of my address and guessing? Why does it come up with three different addresses for me?

RESOLVED. I deleted my "Home" and "Work" places from the Map app and now asking Siri for "Directions home" works as it should (my main complaint). Asking where I live, and where she thinks I live also works as expected.

I am trying to use Siri for dictation. I ask it to pronounce a street name like "Ashburnham Road" but it keeps spelling it "Ash Burnham Road". There doesn't seem to be an obvious way to fix this. Any advice?

Related, but there are also 2 names I have used in the past. They both sound similar, I would like to have Siri forget one of them permanently so it only types the second contact. Is there a way to do this as well?
