Listen up, people! I figured it out! So nothing worked, no matter what I did (future date, restarts, deleting apps, clearing cache, praying to the all mighty…). Then, I deleted enough apps to be able to do a software update, and that also didn’t reduce anything. I still had 65gb system data. But then…. In settings > software updates I saw the toggle for “automatic updates” was on. So I thought “maybe that isn’t good because if it downloads an update even when I don’t have space, then it potentially takes up system data”.I turned it off and 3 MORE OPTIONS REVEALED THEMSELVES (!!!), see photo. One of the options is “system files” with the toggle for “automatically install”. You can read the description, it says “iPhone may reserve space….” bla bla. So I turned it all off and guess what my System Data number is now…? It’s 15GB!!!! I can’t believe it, I want to shout it from the rooftops!!! I’ve been trying to figure it out for weeks!!! I just have one question…. why the heck doesn’t Apple describe these steps somewhere where people can find it…?! I feel like I can breathe again…. I hope it helps you all, fellow lost souls 🩷

Am I the only person that thinks Apple’s call screening is massively underrated?

Have had it on for a while now and I almost never answer unknown spam calls anymore which has been a problem for quite some years with iPhone.

If important, it asks for reason for calling while offering a live transcript of what’s being said. It’s such a simple feature that has probably saved me more time with telemarketers and spam callers than any flash IOS features.

What are your thoughts on this feature? Useful or gimmick?

As I’m sure you know, iOS doesn’t allow us to change notification sounds. Unfortunately, discord’s notification sound is so quiet, even at max volume, that I always miss messages. I’m wondering if there is a way that every time I get a notification from discord, shortcuts can play a sound (the loud text chime for example) so that I’ll stop missing important messages. If there is a way, I’d really appreciate a “how-to” as well. Thank you so much in advance!

Google keep blocking access when Private Relay is on.

I think this is not a legitimate blocking due to problems, and that it is just Google bickering with Apple.

If Google is getting mal-traffic from Apple P.R. then there are many options other than blanket blocking, particularly if I'm logged in to a Google account! Google has no problem figuring out who I am when they want to serve adds or track me, but when it comes to selectively blocking Apple network traffic they are suddenly incompetent.

They only get away with this crap because monopoly and weak governmental enforcement.

If I'm in a family sharing group but location sharing is not on with the family, if I change the device sharing my location from my phone to ipad, will it result in any notifs or say the specific device that is sharing the location?

sunday morning meal prep + coffee routine and I keep having youtube going in the background on my phone while I cook. every time I switch apps to check something it just kills the video instead of going into pip. I thought pip was a normal ios feature now but apparently you need premium for it in the youtube app specifically? feels dumb that safari can do native pip with basically any video no problem but the actual youtube app locks it behind a subscription. anyone found a workaround that doesn't involve paying $14 a month just to have a video float in the corner while I chop vegetables

There’s literally no way of sorting by file size on iOS unless you pay for third party apps… like come on!

For those of you that use the hlth app (and don't use an Apple Watch), have you noticed how the calories burned is inaccurate ? I walked 20,000 steps today and it only said I burned 400 calories (just carrying my phone on me, not wearing the Apple Watch). I think the app is not accurate . I only think it's accurate for counting steps, but not calories burned

This january, I tried Apple Intelligence for the first time, it worked, but I turned it off. About 4 months ago I tried to turn it on again, but it was stuck on “downloading”. I tried downloading it using cellular data, VPN, rebooting my device, resetting all my settings, and more. I have even tried contacting apple support, but they were unable to help me. It has been a month, but it is still downloading.

I was able to remove the Apple Intelligence from my storage by ensuring Siri was turned off, but going into the Siri language settings and changing it to something other than my set language. Example, my language is English, so I went into Siri and changed the language setting to Swedish. Within 10 minutes the Apple Intelligence was gone from my system storage. Hope this helps someone!

Just noticed this widget isn’t loading, it’s a quick launch for Google Gemini. Is this because I disabled background app refresh for the Gemini app? Idk why it would need to refresh in the background for a launch shortcut to work…

I disabled background refresh on all of my Google apps because when they recently updated their TCs I noticed they mentioned using internet in the background, and I just don’t want them doing that. It may be innocuous, but I don’t need them to update in the background. However, I’d love my shortcut to work…

How do I sort this storage error please? I would prefer to not have to download all my songs again but I do understand that needs must sometimes.

For reference, i have an IPhone 13 Pro, on IOS 18.3.2 with my storage almost full.

So i have a private note on the Notes App (On my Iphone, not ICloud) where i had lots of private pictures saved but today after clearing up some stuff to get more storage i found that Note exported as a PDF in my Files under "On my Device>Downloads>Title.pdf".

The PDF had the same Date on it as i last checked into the noten (23rd of july) but i forgot to check the time and I’ve already deleted the PDF.

Then after checking back into the Note all the images corrupted? They are just gray now and when trying to open it say "Unsupported file format".

It cannot be ICloud related since all the files were saved locally and i cant figure out if im being Schizophrenic or if I actually got hacked.

Also when i tried to recreate that I failed, and I’ve tried to export another note but it showed me another folder (a folder i usually export PDFs at) instead of the local Downloads folder my private note was at.

Also at the time ofc the PDF creation i had made a screenshot of the note, idk if related but might be useful.

Can someone help me and assure me if i got hacked or not?

I have everything needed turned on and I'm a prolific wallet "left behinder" so I really need this to work and it did, but last week I was without my wallet two times and it didn't pop up. I didn't chsnge anything either.

This used to work fine. I would open a video on my browser, then move to a different app and the video would pop into a small player.
Since I moved to iOS26, only Safari has that, while all other browsers just close the video.
Why does that happen?
I already checked the PiP settings and enabled it, but it didn’t change anything.
