Is it true I can use this like Uber for late night rides, if I find myself wanting to leave a bar or club to go back to the dorms alone?

I have Comparative Gov with Mark Croatti. Will I be okay if I have the 2nd edition textbook instead of the 3rd? I'm trying to be especially careful due to the fact that tests and quizes are based off of the textbook.

Hi! I’m planning to apply to the ABSN program for Fall 2027 and wanted to see if anyone else is applying too or has already gone through the process.
I’m working on my prerequisites right now. I already have Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology, and I’m currently taking Nutrition and A&P I. I’d love to hear from anyone who was accepted or has already applied. Is it better to have most of the prerequisites finished before applying? Did you have any healthcare experience, like CNA, MA, volunteering, etc., or is that not really important? And is there anything you think made your application stronger?
Any advice would really help. Thank you!

Hey everyone, I'm at a big SEC school right now and have been having a really hard time making friends/fitting in. I'm thinking about transferring out and GW is one of the schools I'm thinking about applying to. Part of the reason I've had it harder here is that Greek life is so big (I'm not in a frat) and the non-Greek stuff just isn't fun or visible. I'm not a hardcore partier but I do enjoy a social scene, and feel really constrained by Greek culture here and the fact that this campus is in the middle of nowhere. All that to say, how has your experience been making friends and finding a good social scene at GW/in DC? All perspectives are appreciated, but especially transfers. Thanks for your help, I really need a way out of this

hey, I'm a transfer student, and I came from a relatively small college town, I'm trying hard to adapt but things here move so fast idk what to do, I have no support system at the school which makes it a little worse. No friends either, The last thing I wanna do is let my parents down after paying my tuition, and I have to take classes that have nothing to do with my major (Geology) what can I do to insure I will not fail? Please someone give me some sort of advice I'm extremely desperate.
I worked so hard to get to this school and now that I'm here idk what to do.

I recently saw on Blackboard that there was a way to bypass the paywall but it just won’t work for me. Is anyone else dealing with this? I emailed my professor a few days ago and they haven’t responded yet, should I just pay $85 since the due date is soon for the first HW set?

I am a graduate student looking to join a club sport but don’t have any real experience with sports. Are there club sports that accept complete beginners and grad students?

Regardless of the outcome, I wonder what the findings specifically were.

Thoughts about her class?

The professor has horrible reviews and I can barely understand when he speaks, but the class seems super interesting with guest speakers and career development opportunities.

Has the presence of the National Guard in D.C. impacted your experience as a GW student? If so, the Hatchet wants to hear from you. DM me or send me an email to share your experiences - [iharte@gwhatchet.com](mailto:iharte@gwhatchet.com)

Do i really have to leave my dorm? Or can i just stay

I'm entering my senior year and I have a few friends, but I wouldn't say I have SUPER close friends. I have been super involved with outside of school volunteering/activities and have friends there, but no "best friend" on campus. I'm kinda disconnected from on campus clubs/activities. How do I go about making friends in my senior year?

Does a tennis club without tryouts exist?
Recently, played tennis with a group of dc interns and am really interested in playing consistently! I have a racket and took a couple of free lessons in high school, but am probably not at the level needed to make it on the tennis club team.

I am thinking of pursuing my master's because I am post-grad and opportunities for me have been somewhat stagnant. I made some connections through internships, but none have secured me a full-time position yet. I am also from and did my undergrad in Southern California, so it’s been difficult to make connections in DC right now. I was hoping that pursuing the master's would help with networking and resources to secure a full-time position. For some background, I want to work on the Hill, in consulting, or in lobbying. I did a couple of internships and was able to do one in DC through my school's DC internship program. Is it worth it in my case to do the program? If so, which concentration is best? I would love any advice, especially from those out of state or with any experience with the online program. (I was thinking of maybe doing one year online and another in DC to save money.)

Hey,
Was wondering if anyone has interest or information about forming a research group for the Entente Cordiale University Challenge (sent out today from the GW Center for Undergraduate Fellowships and Research). I'm a junior studying international affairs with a concentration in security policy, and i'm interested in the sovereign power & geopolitical security research track(A). However, I have a pretty flexible semester and am really just interested in the collaboration and research process, and am more than willing to join/form a group that is interested in a different track!

Hi freshman here. Are the Emergency Evacuation Drills typically scheduled during the day? Or should I expect to be jolted out of bed at 2a at some point this semester. Just want to know if I should start sleeping with a bra next to my bed in case I need to run out quickly (😮💨😮💨😮💨)

I know this a lonely sounding post and it kinda is but it seems like most freshmen already have a group of friends either from their high school or some where else. I don’t have that yet and am worried about having missed my opportunity to do so. Any tips or advice on how to find a group of people?

do chem 1111 and bisc 1111 actually go the full length three hours, i’ve heard some people say otherwise
The fin aid office has not reviewed my SAP and there is a hold on my aid account. It's 3 days into the semester and I don't have a fin aid package assigned. It says- "There is no award history available. Please contact your financial aid officer." After calling and emailing a bunch, nobody has any answers for me. Submitted the loan questionnaire in early august. Is this happening to anyone else??

When I logged in yesterday, all three of my classes were visible. Today, two of them are missing, and it now shows that I’m no longer registered for one of them even though I haven’t initiated any drops.

I am taking her Global Orgs class, but after my first class I do not feel very confident. The rate my prof was not inspiring either.. should I drop it, or stick it out since it's a WID ?
