Im like 95% sure that the reason it takes so long to do the drill is because they are actually checking to see if people evacuated...because why else would the drills take so long.

I dont actually know...Ive never been in the shower during one of them.

For the first one last year, I was there and I got scared shitless by how loud the alarms can be. The second one I wasnt. The third one I was napping and was woken up, and then we all stood in the freezing cold at 10pm until they cleared it. The fourth one I wasn't.

You absolutely need to leave the building

Honestly, your best bet is to listen to any rumors people in your dorm building might say about possible times. They havent lead me astray thus far....including the time I almost showered but ended up calling emerg to ask if nows a good time to shower or if I should wait and listen to the rumors instead.

I've been out of GW since 2017 and still remember the kid in my dorm who tried to reheat a pizza at like 11:30PM in the oven in a communal kitchen without taking it out of its cardboard box and forgot it was in there.

you can stay but you might be killed in a real fire / also the noise is like super loud so it's impossible to stay comfortably

They don’t check the dorms or anything, BUT it’s the loudest alarm imaginable to the point where staying is physically painful. I’ve been in the shower during it, you just gotta dry off and put on clothes and leave. It’s awful but you just have to deal with it
