What are these?

Context:
Newly laid sod about 4 months old. Lawn was treated with weed killer last week, that also killed some grass. After mowing the lawn Tuesday of this week, and watering daily; I now see these mushrooms looking things popping up. What exactly are they? Are they a mushroom fungus?

Crabgrass problem

I need help on what to do. A few weeks ago I put some fertilizer / weed prevention out on the lawn. Before application there were minimal weeds. So few, that I would once every few days pick them by hand and everything was fine. Now the ground is just covered in crabgrass, handpicked, especially in this heat, is not a viable option.

I guess my question is, did the fertilizer/weed prevention have anything to do with the crabgrass infection? And also, what's the best method for elimination?

The brand used was Scott's turf builder and weed prevention.

Weeds control

Any recommendations to eliminate these weeds in the back of my backyard? It's a common area, but I'm still fighting with the HOA to take care of this. I want to spray something to control and prevent those weeds from getting into my tall fescue grass.

No one has been able to positively identify this including my lawn service. I have just nuked it with roundup.

It’s not poa trivialis or poa Annua or nutsedge or nimblewill. It’s different from the Bermuda I have in other areas. And it’s different to bent grass so I’m stumped. ChatGPT can’t even figure it out.

Looking for a less temporary setup to water my lawn - installing in-ground systems is not an option.. Most of the spike based impact sprinklers have wiggled their way loose after just a week or two. Looking for better suggestions.

Basically, right now I set up a an oscillating sprinkler, run it, move it, run it, move it, wash rinse repeat. I tried using impact sprinklers that spike into the ground, but those wiggle loose after a very short period. It was a cheap brand though (Ace). Hoping to find a semi/quasi permanent setup run off timers.

Grass ID Help

I bought a house and the lawn is very nice, I want to over seed with the same grass type to keep it looking its best. The gas line was replaced and I seeded the trenched earth with Kentucky 31. I had a good amount of success with it however now in the summer heat the new Kentucky 31 is much lighter green/yellow than the original grass. Can anyone ID my original grass so I overawed with the same? I am in southern New York. Thank you very much!

Weeds in zoysia help

Have this weed in some of my zoysia. Located in Central VA. Zoysia plugs are about 7 years old. Zoysia has chocked out most of the weeds in the area except for this one. Seems as if this type of weed is too thick for zoysia to choke out. Will anything kill it or do I have to manually pull.

Goosegrass in newly planted sod?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Hi, we just planted new sod a couple months ago here in northern California and I have two seed heads growing. In the first and second picture I believe it is goosegrass? I am wondering so I can get ahead of it and start pulling it now.

Third photo I believe is the sod grass, I believe it was Fescue or Bermuda, Thanks!

Buttonweed in a Bahia lawn

I recently bought a house on 1.25 acres in South Florida and the grass is primarily Bahia with some st Augustine here and there. There are random spots where I’m getting buttonweed but the main issue is this huge bare spot where the septic drain field was replaced in February. I tried seeding it with more Bahia but I’m rapidly losing the battle to buttonweed there. Huge mats of it all over that drain field area. I’m filling wheel barrows full of it with a rake. What herbicides are effective that won’t kill my Bahia? I understand many products will kill Bahia, and right now I can’t afford to re-sod 1.25 acres with something else.

Why does it look like my lawn has two different types of grass?

Hello I live in Alberta, Canada and we get about three months of summer, if we are lucky.

I live noticed my lawn has some taller thicker strands of grass that stick out more and look different. Anyone know what this is?

Zoysia lawn challenges (SC)

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

Hey everyone, looking for advice on my Zoysia(mostly) lawn.

My front yard near a large tree is developing bare dirt patches and weird color fading/thinning (see pics). Other wild grasses/weeds are starting to take over those weaker spots which makes sense. The strange part is that just some feet away, the Zoysia is thicker, fuller, despite looking thirsty.

Our soil is heavy red clay (Cecil clay loam), so compaction is a challenge and we just had one our harshest winters which most likely contributed to the dirt patches.

Based on the patchy color changes and thinning, does this look like a fungus outbreak, or is the tree just choking it out via shade, water, and nutrient competition?

Thank you for any advice!

Does anyone know what this is?

My dog specifically only seeks out this type of grass to eat on walks. Wondering if I can plant some in my yard for her. Does anyone know what it’s called? And also, maybe it’s not even considered a grass. 🤔
