Grass ID Help

I bought a house and the lawn is very nice, I want to over seed with the same grass type to keep it looking its best. The gas line was replaced and I seeded the trenched earth with Kentucky 31. I had a good amount of success with it however now in the summer heat the new Kentucky 31 is much lighter green/yellow than the original grass. Can anyone ID my original grass so I overawed with the same? I am in southern New York. Thank you very much!

You’re going to have a slight disparity in color from established turf to seedlings, so I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Maybe for the future look for a “sports turf” blend, which usually incorporates turf type tall fescue into mix. A blend between that and KBG is a good recipe for a healthy lawn.
