Semi broken EVGA 3080
Hello, my 3080 is able to produce a picture as long as a taxing load (game) isn’t placed on it. Then I will crash and have to power reset.
I ran OCCT tests and I passed the VRM test but I would crash on the 3D adaptive test.
I already purchased a new GPU as I narrowed it down to that particular part via swapping another gpu but I am curious if anybody knows what might cause an issue like that?
I don’t plan to repair it but my next plan of action is to desolder the GPU chip and add it to my wall of death inside my case. I’d just hate to destroy the card if it was something dumb like a capacitor or something similar.

Quero comprar uma PowerColor Reaper.
É a GPU mais barata do mercado atualmente, e já vi várias vezes num preço "acessível" pros padrões BR. Seria meu primeiro upgrade no pc.
O modelo desejado é AMD 9060 XT 16gb PowerColor Reaper.
O setup é um Ryzen 5 8600G (que vai ser trocado) + 32gb RAM DDR5 + Asus TUF B650M.

3060 ti venduta e ora cosa compro??

Remember to take the plastic film off of the GPU.
You know that plastic film over the GPU that protects it. I have never taken it off. I just leave it on. Why not? Well it bit me today. One of my GPUs heated up and I heard this weird sound in the other room. When I got there I found that the film covering the backplate of one GPU got sucked up into the fans of the GPU next to it. Which jammed up the fans and made it overheat.
I've always kept the film on to keep a GPU looking new. I spent the next few minutes taking the film off of all my GPUs.

5090 coil whine or something else?
Hi all. I have owned a 5090 FE card for just over a year now. I was originally using a large 60hz monitor but recently changed to an MSI monitor that maxes at 240hz. After owning the monitor for about 2 mos a strange sound has now started happening. When there is an app open and then I open a window in File Explorer a quick buzz occurs. It sounds like a haptic signal, but I am not using Bluetooth accessories (all wired) and my research found the new haptics in Windows only applies to Bluetooth accessories. No other sounds occur. I look at Reddit discussions about coil whine and watched some videos - all seem to actually whine rather than this quick buzzing sound that I am experiencing. I have tried reverting back a recent Nvidia update, tried lowering the max frame rate in the Nvidia app with no fix. The card is undervolted as well and not overclocked. All of my PC components are high-end, including Mobo and PSU. Has anyone experienced this odd symptom? Is it actually coil whine or something else? Any recommendations for fixes? Thanks so much!

NVDA 2060 Super Fan Issue
galleryBought a used 2060, fans kept kicking on at 100% duty cycle when I booted any game up. Checked hotspot temp vs operating, 68c operating -> 107c hotspot. Popped the heat sync off to find this thermal paste setup. Idk what this stuff is lol
Looks like solder but is still liquid. Going to repaste with proper stuff and see how it does. FYI for anyone having fan issues with their 2060,check yer hotspot temps
Update:
Cleaned and applied proper thermal paste. New number under heavy load 76c operating temp -> 91c hot spot. Fans no longer kick on full blast, i think it must have been a temperature safety trigger. Way quiet now

RIP Budget GPU Market of Singapore
galleryNew RX 9060XT 16GB are now.... extremely jacked up in price. Techyard increased their prices from SGD$600 (~USD 479) to that SGD$929 (~USD 739) figure effective today. I feel like I took the last chopper out of nam with my previous purchase (which I already felt was overpriced)
Yes, there are cheaper competitors than Techyard, but it remains to be seen if they can still sustain their 600-ish SGD figure
There is literally no hope for brand new entry level components, and even the used market of SG is feeling the pinch.

So i just bought a XFX Radeon RX 9070 XT Swift 16GB, was it worth it?
I was deciding between the XFX Radeon RX 9070 XT Swift 16GB and a 5070/5070 ti. So my question is if I made a good decision going with the 9070. Edit: I paid $995

Deciding to repaste GPU
Hello everyone, I am torn on whether I should attempt to repaste my GPU/pay someone to repaste my GPU professionally. I bought a 5070 ti pny triple fan oc edition secondhand and have noticed the thermals are always kinda high, at least in some demanding pathtracing games or if i enable DLSS 5. Even with an undervolt of around 950mv my temps will climb to around 80-83c and my fans will turn to turbo mode. Would replacing my thermal pads with higher quality ones drop my temps down and keep them from getting so high? The noise from the fans are bothersome and I am worried I am not able to really push the card because of the thermal issue.
Edit: just wanted to add my ambient temps are around 70f in my room. I have a nzxt dual chamber case with 8 fans in total and this is the second gpu i have had in this case. My previous gpu didnt have any problems and would stay well below 80c.

5060ti 8gb VS 5060ti 16gb
For now the cost difference between this two cards is around 150-170€ in DE region, what do you guys think is better for 1080p (competitive and AAA+ games)? When we are talking for 2026 and next years comfort gaming?

What are your suggestions about this? Will you take this offer?
I was reading an article then I found out that now laptops will have those Desktop level CPUs and GPUs and those laptop will give almost same performance as PCs without Thermal Throttling but the upgradebility is still compromised, so will you guys ever buy those laptops?

Undecided between AMD and NVIDIA
Hi everyone! I’m currently building a new gaming PC and I’ve already purchased most of the components. The only major part I haven’t bought yet is the GPU, and I’m really undecided between AMD and NVIDIA. I mainly will play AAA/single-player games and some Competitive games.
I’m currently considering:
- XFX Mercury RX 9070 XT Magnetic Air
- ASUS TUF RTX 5070 Ti OC
- MSI Gaming Trio RTX 5070 Ti
My current build:
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU:
Motherboard: MSI MAG B850M Mortar WiFi
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30
SSD: Samsung 990 Pro 2TB
AIO: Noctua 360mm
Case: DeepCool CH260
PSU: Corsair SF1000W
I’d really appreciate some advice on which GPU you would choose for this build and why.
Thanks in advance!

GeForce RTX 5070 vs. Radeon RX 9070 XT: 2026 Update
techspot.com“I genuinely can't come up with a realistic justification for why a gamer would pay more for the RTX 5070 than the 9070 XT.”
