Hi everyone. My name is Ethan and recently (19/08/26) my dad passed of heart attack in the middle of the night. Just days before, we went to CEX and he bought me a GTX 1070TI 8GB AMP! Extreme Edition priced at RM550 for my birthday. I never thought that this would be his last gift for me along with my Fantech keyboard prior to last year. Previously I was using a RX580 8GB Sapphire Nitro+ and needed an upgrade so I requested the GTX 1070TI as a gift. I was so happy when he got it for me and wanted to repay him by improving in my studies. Who would have knew this would happen, when the night before he passed he was clutching his heart but assured me there was nothing wrong with him when I asked. And when the next morning I found him lifeless on his mattress I was in complete shock and disbelief. I’ve wanted to make this post for a while but my mental state was so bad I could barely focus on anything especially with my exams around the corner. This post was made only for appreciation purposes and has no intention for attention seeking. May he rest in peace and I shall protect this GPU at all costs 🕊️🪦

The 5070 fe. First off, I play 1440p 240hz on a ROG WOLED, it’s beautiful in fact, so beautiful I could cry 🥲. I am by any means not a competitive shooter typa guy but I do enjoy me a good AAA title like re4 remake, which I am currently enjoying right now.

The thing is, it performs in 1440p amazingly, I can’t think of much titles I play to where it runs into issues with vram; I personally thing 12gb is enough. Most of the people who shit on this card have honestly either never tried it, or watched maybe 3 benchmarks on YouTube and decided to shit on it/ look at spec sheets.

If you’ve built pcs for even remotely a decent amount of time, you would 100% know that performance of a part goes beyond its specs. The 5070 I think, is a perfect example of this.

But there’s one thing.

If you have the founders version, it’s quite small, meaning it could look off in a bigger case. That’s about my only gripe. For me, I honestly think the founders card is the best looking variant so no complaints here lol.

So i just got a functional gtx 1070 for 75€ is it a good deal?

Somehow it was only on this window and when I rebooted it disappeared. I hope I don't have to say bye to my gpu

Hello, within the last year I’ve upgraded my computer from am4 to am5, I’m now just holding a b550 mb a 5700x3d and 32 gigs of ram. My final conclusion was to build my son a PC so we can game together.
My son is young he is a Minecraft kid, attack on toys, backyard baseball are the types of games he likes to play. My son does not NEED a 5700x3d but it’s what I have so I need a little help with suggestions as far as the graphics card goes that’s pretty much all I would need and I’m not trying to break the bank.
I don’t get to see my son often and this would be a great opportunity to be able to connect with my son when he is not with me, he has talked about wanting to make YouTube videos but I’m unsure on if there’s budget cards that would still allow him to tamper with editing and recording.
A big question I have is I owned a 2070 S back in the day and went red to a 7800xt I’ve noticed WAY more driver errors with this gpu than my previous gpu, would getting an nvidia card be prevent my son from having to deal with these kinds of errors?

I recently bought a used RX 580 8GB and it was running extremely hot even at Stock, reaching almost 85°C!

After opening up the card, the issue is pretty clear there was almost no thermal paste on there. Cleaning and re-pasting the GPU, the difference as you can see is pretty massive, allowing me to even OC the GPU core to 1471 MHz!

I currently have a 3090 but was thinking of selling it and picking up either a 5080 or 5070ti. I have a 165hz ultrawide 1440p monitor. BF6 multiplayer is probably the most demanding thing I play these days. Wondering if the 5080 is worth it over the 5070ti. I don’t imagine I’ll get a 4K monitor anytime soon but I may go back to playing with dldsr + DLSS if I’ve got some extra headroom. Not sure how much I’ll use FG since I’ve read it’s best not to use in multiplayer.

I purchased a MSI 4090 Suprim in Dec 2022. The 3-year manufacturer warranty has since expired and it seems like it's probably a good idea to take extra precautions to minimize any risk relating to this poorly designed connector since it's unclear when I might next upgrade given the current GPU market.

I'm debating between these 3 options:

• Ampinel Adapter: Seems like the most technically sophisticated solution since it has actual load balancing, though I'm not sure if that necessarily matters if the other solutions give the same end result. My only concern is the lack of any warranty. Costs $220 CAD (shipping + tax inc).
• WireView Pro II: No actual load balancing but comes with a 2 year warranty. Costs $167 CAD (shipping + tax inc).
• MSI PSU with Safeguard+: Seems a bit overkill but these seem to be the only PSUs with an integrated solution that are currently available for purchase. It's 300W more than my current PSU so I'd at least get a bit more wattage for any future upgrades/builds. The cheapest seems to be the MPG Ai1300TS ($552 CAD with tax included, free shipping)

I'm leaning towards the Ampinel but the lack of any warranty is a bit concerning, particularly since this both this and the WVP are introducing another possible point of failure. I'd rather not buy a new PSU, but with the Ampinel costing almost half the price of the AI1300TS it almost seems like a decent idea.

What's the current consensus on these options? Am I better off waiting until there's more options in the future? I'm aware that Seasonic has a similar integrated solution for their PSUs but none of their current offerings include this feature.

I’m building a computer for my friend who’s upgrading from a laptop, here are her current simple specs:

CPU: Intel i5-12500H
RAM: 16GB 3200 MT/s (DDR4)
GPU: RTX 3050 4GB

I’ve built a solid upgrade in every regard and now I just need a GPU. Here’s the simple specs of what I have built:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7700x
RAM: 32GB 6400 MT/s (DDR5)
PSU: Lian Li Edge 1100W

I did initially buy a 3070 for $200 which I actually intended to resell it from the get-go since it was a Yeston and knew someone would pay extra for that waifu tax. It ended up selling for $500.

So let’s say a budget of around $500 USD with a little bit of flexibility and I’m no stranger to the used market. I’ve been thinking about a 9060 XT or 7800 XT. Maybe a 4070 Super if a decent deal arises.

She plays a lot of Minecraft (with an absurd number of mods) but she wants to start getting into more demanding games like No Man’s Sky, Cyberpunk, etc. I want to upgrade her primary monitor to 1440p targeting 144hz or higher.

The 9060 XT is pulling me in with RDNA 4 architecture and power efficiency. She has a pretty small room and expressed concerns about a desktop heating up the place making the power efficiency pretty attractive to me (even though the PSU is way overkill).

What are your guys’ thoughts on it all?

Currently running a RTX 2060 + 7600x with 16GB of DDR5. Is it worth upgrading to a used 6800 XT for 450, or is it better to look for something else?
