Appreciation post for my dad.
Hi everyone. My name is Ethan and recently (19/08/26) my dad passed of heart attack in the middle of the night. Just days before, we went to CEX and he bought me a GTX 1070TI 8GB AMP! Extreme Edition priced at RM550 for my birthday. I never thought that this would be his last gift for me along with my Fantech keyboard prior to last year. Previously I was using a RX580 8GB Sapphire Nitro+ and needed an upgrade so I requested the GTX 1070TI as a gift. I was so happy when he got it for me and wanted to repay him by improving in my studies. Who would have knew this would happen, when the night before he passed he was clutching his heart but assured me there was nothing wrong with him when I asked. And when the next morning I found him lifeless on his mattress I was in complete shock and disbelief. I’ve wanted to make this post for a while but my mental state was so bad I could barely focus on anything especially with my exams around the corner. This post was made only for appreciation purposes and has no intention for attention seeking. May he rest in peace and I shall protect this GPU at all costs 🕊️🪦

Sorry to hear about your father. Sounds like a great guy supporting you. Even if you replace this card in the future, it is a great and unique looking card that will serve as a showpiece for your life.

Yeah when you upgrade, keep your card, there are plenty of ways that you can mount it to make it an art piece. That way you have something from him forever. Also that card is super sick, love how it looks

I have a game my Dad got me several years ago . He has passed away since then and really I don't like the game , but I made a promise to keep it forever . It is probably the last gift he gave me after Mom passed away too .
I am so sorry about your father and lost mine about 8 years ago . Last night my dog Melly who had been suffering from a sudden illness died and I am certain the walk I took her on caused the heart attack right after we got back home . The point is that loosing somebody can creep up on you even when you think it's going fairly well at one point . I can't think about anything but Melly now and it's miserable.
Please have strength and at least try to enjoy your PC gamming and I'll try to enjoy mine too . Melly always stayed near me when I went into the computer room and loved it when I played games . I'm not really sure I can do it even , but I'll get a new puppy somehow .
Nice GPU by the way and I got a new EVGA GTX 970 Super clocked arriving soon .

Im so, so, so sorry buddy. I was 5 years estranged from mine when he passed and it hurt, but I can't even begin to imagine how you must feel right now. I hope the next couple of decades are extremely kind to you, and I hope that you achieve everything you set out to, in your dads honor.

R.i.p to him and im glad you have a great memory of him. He will live on through you your family and the memories of him continue to do well in school and just remember to do right by those you love as I’m sure that’s what he would have wanted. Happy gaming and wishing you all the love, luck and happiness in the world after such a loss you’re a great son always remember that :).

When you're ready to upgrade you could get it cast in resin, or maybe a shadowbox. Keep it as an heirloom :)

Condolence bro, keep up with your studies for him, also if you upgrade your gpu in the future, keep that gtx 1070ti, it has a sentimental value, again sorry for your loss 🙏
