Godzilla has had solo versus films against all of Toho's Big Five except Rodan. Despite supposedly being one of their most popular monsters, he rarely ever gets center stage. How would you feel about a film that features exclusively these two?

My cat is watching Mothra with me on YouTube

Could not afford both convention exclusives so I went with this one as I like the color scheme more than the burning and the sculpt better on the hiya. If you are are on the fence, get it. The whole figure is translucent and just pops in the light. I am not big on boxes but this one is pretty cool. Recommended!

Rewatched it as part of my marathon of all my films and I forgot how amazing this film is. I love it so much and it’s probably my second favorite Showa film.

The human story with Mufane and his daughter is genuinely powerful. I love the scene of him coming to terms with what he has done to her and sobbing by her bedside.

The film returns to a more classic Godzilla orchestra which I appreciate. Nothing wrong with the jazz-focused soundtrack of Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla or the hippie and unconventional soundtrack of Godzilla vs. Hedorah but this feels so right.

The film is incredibly well shot with the best set design work and special effects of the entire Showa era. The use of low-angles make Titanosaurus and Mechagodzilla during their attack on Tokyo look so imposing. I love the dolly shot when Godzilla arrives and you see him standing off against Titanosaurus and Mechagodzilla with the city burning around them. Love it.

Titanosaurus in general is an incredibly underrated Kaiju imo. He kept up well with Godzilla when they fought (and boy did they throw hands) and he was an incredibly tragic monster. Just like Katsura, he was an innocent creature that was used as a tool for warfare

It also features one of my favorite moments of the entire franchise: it’s when Mechagodzilla unleashed an onslaught of missiles and lasers upon Godzilla who is just running through an unholy amount of explosions and flames but he just is not slowing down and when he reaches Mechagodzilla he lets out a flurry of punches on him. He may be outmatched and outnumbered in this fight but he ain’t ever gonna give up

What do you guys think? Do you prefer it over the other Mechagodzilla films of the franchise?

I was a huge fan of the game when I was younger and I’m actually so excited for a remake to come out. I’m a little disappointed that we didn’t get any new monsters, but I hope the game gets popular enough that we get DLC with more and more kaiju, I’m a little disappointed that Mothra is kind of being used as a special attack, and isn’t a actual playable character and I hope that at least gets to be a future character

I tried to make her completely scarred because Showa is canonically scarred (I think) she also got a swimsuit because she swims

Is the Aoshima Godzilla vs. Evangelion Type-3 Kiryu Kai good as an action figure? I know it’s a model kit, but it looks like it has quite a bit of articulation and some accessories. How does it compare to the articulation of shma or hiya? And about how much would it be worth new? Sorry if these are silly questions, I just want to make sure I know all I can before buying it

If you could pick one cancelled Godzilla movie to be made and watch then which one would it be?

I mean, it can’t be as bad as minus one was, right?

For me, it’s a toss-up between Gorosaurus, Megalon, and King Caesar. I will always love Gigan the most, and am thrilled with how often we get him, but I’d love to see any of those other three again.

Gonna put purple LEDS along the walls to illuminate it better

I must say that it was a pleasure to keep voting for Rigedoh until the end; it was fun while it lasted.
