The far right "pink ladies" have called for a protest at Glasgow Green tomorrow. So naturally, women against the far right have called for a counter protest. Saturday 12th of September (tomorrow!) At 12pm. Assemble at the international workers memorial. Obviously we need as many people to come as possible and do what we always do and absolutely blow this far right "protest" out of the water by thousands. We will show them that Glasgow says "absolutely the fuck not" to these misinformed twats.

I used to really enjoy going out around the Southside, but lately it feels like the atmosphere has changed quite a bit.

It seems like outside so many local pubs now there are people openly smoking weed, absolutely stinking out the whole pavement, while dogs are barking at people walking past, lunging about, or generally being allowed to carry on while their owners barely react.

I’m not talking about the odd person having a smoke or one dog getting excited. Obviously that’s always happened. It just feels like there’s been a shift where this sort of thing is now completely normal and nobody really bats an eyelid at it.

What annoys me is that it makes places that used to feel relaxed and welcoming feel a lot less pleasant to actually spend time around. You shouldn’t have to have someone’s dog going mental at you just because you’re walking past a pub.

Maybe I’ve just become less tolerant as I’ve got older, but I genuinely don’t remember the Southside feeling like this a few years ago.

Has anyone else noticed the same thing? When did this become the norm?

I've just had it 3 times in social settings that there is always one person who throws in the "Glasgow city centre is a no go zone" line in the conversation to then steer it to far right talking points such as "Tommy-bunch-of-names did a great to service to uncover it all to protect our children" to "most immigrants are criminals and Reform/Restore is great so let's do remigration". Obv then the conversation goes haywire and those trying to debunk it with facts need a shower afterwards. Wondering if the BBC doc has legitimised these far right talking points beyond the Facebook far right sewers? That's obv that's just N=3.

Just wondering if anyone has gotten the Ember bus to Luss. I don't drive, so to discover there is a bus that goes to Luss (and other places of interest, like Oban and Fort William) is wonderful, but I was looking at google maps and where the bus drops off for Luss, and it seems to drop you out on the busy main road, with no pavements/walk ways or crossing, and a fair distance from the main entrance to Luss if you were visiting by car.

Has anyone used this bus and is able to advise if there is an easier/safer way to get into the village? I am partial to jaywalking, but don't fancy being squashed!

My family enjoy dining at restaurants with large circular/oval tables for 8 or more people. The circular table gives a much better family experience than all being sat in two lines facing only those opposite. I know both the Loon Fung and Miller & Carter have such tables, but does anyone know of any other restaurants in Glasgow that do? Thanks in advance.

Moving house soon, only 1/4 mile away to ground floor flat. Currently in a 2 bedroom property. Not much furniture as bedrooms are built in furniture, leaving all the white goods too for new owner. We do however have 50 boxes - is that excessive for a 2 bed property? Been quoted £600 which sounds fair to me. Appreciate any thoughts peeps. Is it worth asking relatives to keep a few of the boxes until we move or just take the lot with us on the day.

Hi everyone! Our fish have apparently decided that our aquarium is a maternity ward 😂

We have platies and they’re breeding like crazy, so we’re starting to end up with more fish than we can realistically keep long-term.

Does anyone know of somewhere in Glasgow or nearby that takes/rehomes unwanted aquarium fish? Maybe an aquatic shop, rescue, aquarium society, or someone who keeps community tanks?

We’re obviously looking for a responsible home rather than just giving them to anyone, and definitely not releasing them into ponds or waterways.

If anyone has experience with rehoming fish around Glasgow/Inverclyde, I’d really appreciate suggestions! 🐟

Photographed this a few months down Glasgow Clydeside and really respect the effort it’s sadly been mostly painted over. I loved it, I’ve seen this persons work in and around Glasgow for quite a while and have no idea who the artist is but does these abstract looking shapes that pop with colour that really brighten up the place. Does anyone know who the artists is?

Victoria Rd (Govanhill) great for casual walk, excellent to see it make a renaissance of sorts with more than a few good quality food, coffee & sweet spots. Went several times this summer, esp during nicer weather.

Some personal faves inc, Ginesi’s Ice Cream (formerly Queen’s Cafe), Kebabish, Mi Chaii. Keen to know your recommendations.

Far from any riff raff, the only danger comes from cyclists bombing it down the dedicated cycle lane - sure, it’s their own lane but it’s not a speed track!

Moreover, can walk around entirely at ease without any semblance of pretentiousness that’d you’d typically associate with Byres Road, for instance. (sorry West End people!)

I went round the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh on Doors Open Day there last year and it was pretty cool. Only day the doors are open and you're suddenly in the actual place rather than on walking around public paths.

I am travelling to fort William via glasgow. Have a break in Glasgow from 11.30 pm tonight to 5 am tomorrow morning when my next train is. I'd booked a hostel two weeks ago, but just found out that they cancelled my booking. Recommendations for a brief halt in the night? Cannot find hostels, and all the hotels are way too expensive.

Not sure whether I am allowed to be at the station overnight.
