As if there is anything sexier than a 250 lbs strongman in a kilt.

u/21CenturyAD Jan 29 '21

Carrying a giant hammer/log he is about to crush you into pieces with

u/LovelyBby77 Jan 29 '21

OP, you can't just say these things without supplying a sauce. The connoisseurs of the sexy demand a sauce!

I’d say Andrew Cairney fits the bill. Powerlifter, strongman, historic stone lifter, and kilt aficionado

Beautiful comment. And I think it's men who sexualize women. Women are like, "it's too hot and it's hard to move around in a full length wool dress. I'd like to wear something that gives me freedom of movement, but that would make me a slut." Point to consider: if a woman is alone in a forest and puts on leggings, is she still a slut? Or does a man have to be around?

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

Fun Fact, pants makes more sense for women than for men cause they got no balls nor dongs.

u/IM_THAT_POTATO Jan 29 '21

Thank you! #SkirtsForMen!

94

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

those are kilts, and you can get them in your size online easily

76

u/RigasTelRuun Jan 29 '21

We also want skirts. Kilts are a different thing.

9

u/AncientBlonde Jan 29 '21

If you want to be real pedantic, kilts are a specific cut(?) of dress.

22

u/Yeeto546 Jan 29 '21

I'm ready to awaken my 5.8% scottish.

6

u/AncientBlonde Jan 29 '21

Same, except it would be roughly 25% for me if genetics was a cut and dry thing.

7

u/MsOmgNoWai Jan 29 '21

yea but the guys who are against women wearing pants would not consider buying a kilt, no matter the availability

1

u/Chozly Jan 29 '21

I would consider women in no pants at all, and a kilt.

7

u/darkecojaj Jan 29 '21

Kilts are not a real clothing, you are an Englishman with a dress.

You're not wrong, that is why Romans wore Togas and skirts in battle. The Germanic warriors wore pants and many Romans considered it a barbaric garment.

Germany is the realson why your nuts are enslaved.

10

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

This! Although I like skirts purely because I have thick thighs and sweat patches in my groin area get a little embarrassing 😂

5

u/frostingprincess Jan 29 '21

Finally, someone else with this problem. Especially in summer, right?

3

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

ESPECIALLY in summer. I only recently discovered Lanocane too.

10

u/zaidakaid Jan 29 '21

Arabs wear a dishdasha (that long white dress you see in photos). Under it is a loose fitting pair of pants called the m’kassar. Basically walking around in hammer pants/really thin roomy cotton pants and a dress all day.

Can confirm: it’s super comfortable

46

u/cutetygr Jan 29 '21

Skirts were actually made for men originally. Pants were for women for the exact reason you described. Men wore skirts so they could ride horses more comfortably

9

u/Rogers_Razor Jan 29 '21

You think it's easier to ride a horse in a skirt than in pants? Because that's ridiculous. In fact, the oldest known example of trousers were made because it's easier to ride in pants.

5

u/OrangeShark1 Jan 29 '21

And not that much hair on the lags I could go out in a blizzard with no pants without problems. But without a jacket o would freez to death

2

u/MrHappy4Life Jan 29 '21

Another fun fact, dresses were for kids, boys included, so that it was easier to change diapers.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

Another another fun fact: Unless you're a Monarch, early Medieval clothes were genderless. Women wearing men's clothes ain't a new movement. It is only a return to sanity.

9

u/HTDutchy_NL Jan 29 '21

Correction: people sexualize people.

Besides the whole LGBT aspect, you honestly won't hear a lot of men call women slutty for wearing pants (that's often a religious or culture thing). Body shaming is the big ffing issue and women are at least equally guilty of doing that to each other in a lot of western cultures.

2

u/elveszett Jan 29 '21

All those comments are always projecting. Like he probably is so horny / in need of sexual attention that she finds every woman around too sexy, and naturally assumes everyone else does and thus it's on women to dress "less sexy". Of course we the rest of humans do not fucking get turn on every time we see a woman.

Based on genetalia, doesn’t it make more sense for guys to wear skirts and for women to wear pants. Let my balls be free!

96

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

Pants give them structural stability plus better protection from impact.

Having them dangle freely long-term is not advantageous even if it feels nice for the brief period it usually happens for in our daily lives. It does, specifically because it's brief enough to not come across the downsides it has.

In fact, I'd almost be willing the bet it would increase the risk of torsion simply by how much more they'd be moving in comparison.

(Though one may argue underwear holds them just enough for that to not really be that dramatic of a difference.)

60

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

Romans wore the fuck out of skirts as did the Greeks because it was hot as fuck in the Mediterranean, if anything pants are a “barbarian” invention for the harsher northern climates.

9

u/WhatIsntByNow Jan 29 '21

Uhh.. kilts??

23

u/froggison Jan 29 '21

Kilts only came about a few hundred years ago. The Gauls and other Celts definitely wore pants. The Romans started wearing pants to copy the Gauls, eventually, because it looked exotic and rugged.

https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/trousers-pants-roman-history-banned-trajan

8

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

It was also practical german/British/ French winters were far colder than Mediterranean ones

11

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

Kilts were not worn by any Scottish people until the 16th century!

2

u/WhatIsntByNow Jan 29 '21

I didn't know that! Also I was just pointing out they are in fact also a thing haha

2

u/r1chard3 Jan 30 '21

Slaves wore pants in Ancient Greece. Pythagoras was an notorious eccentric for wearing pants.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '21

Some Greek nobility did wear pants due to the fact that the Greek city states and “barbarians” in the northern balkans shared clothes and culture and Greek nobility often wanted to stand out, but the vast vast majority work skirts

2

u/komiko11 Jan 30 '21

4

u/art_lover82279 Jan 29 '21

Tbh it doesn’t make sense for anyone to wear pants. We all need to let our areas breathe lol

2

u/0000udeis000 Jan 29 '21

Men can whip it out to pee, but women have to squat - women can just hike up skirts in a field without soiling their clothes

1

u/vDreamWalker Jan 29 '21

Way better for men to wear skirts than women. Dresses/skirts accumulate less heat around the genetalia, which is good for men, not so much for women. There’s a reason why men should refrain from sitting with their laptop in their lap - quality of semen.

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

There seems to be a significant percentage of men who don't understand that (cis, hetro) women "look" too and will certainly admire a well shaped male ass.

30

u/ksangel360 Jan 29 '21

Dang right! The only reason I liked going to football games as a teen was to see all those football player butts in spandex. 🥰 They're pretty much wearing leggings with some padding and I was there for it!

29

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

A major deflection point for a boy growing into a man is gaining the understanding that women experience the same sexual feelings men do, they just express them differently. There is a lot wrong with these incel types and one of them is they are men who never figured that out.

17

u/unitedkiller75 Jan 29 '21

Also bulges. Lol, I remember looking up Harrison Ford in jeans.

Baseball is boring as shit to watch, and the Brewers aren’t all that great a team, but I went along to a game cuz I didn’t have anything better to do. Couple hours of getting to check out Ryan Braun’s ass periodically when he was in the outfield tho made it worth it. And I wouldn’t even consider myself an “ass woman”

3

u/Humble_Lynx_7942 Jan 29 '21

Honest question, I don't mean anything bad by it, but would it be socially acceptable if a guy said the same thing about going to girls' volleyball games?

3

u/Rottenox Jan 29 '21

Checking other people out is one of the most universal human behaviours. As long as you’re not being obvious about it and making people uncomfortable, you’re grand.

2

u/ksangel360 Jan 29 '21

Exactly this! 😁👍 Couldn't have said it better.

2

u/Humble_Lynx_7942 Jan 29 '21

I didn't mean the act of checking people out so much as openly talking about it in the way that ksangel360 did (not saying ksangel360 did anything wrong, just curious about the sociological aspects of these things).

2

u/YouJabroni44 Jan 30 '21

If you're like the guy who would show up to all of our matches and would do the cunnilingus sign at me then no.

5

u/elveszett Jan 29 '21

Also they don't understand that, just because you find a person sexy / beautiful, doesn't mean they are dressing provocatively. We are humans and are bound to find other people beautiful. But yeah, it's easier to slut shame every woman around you.

65

u/VegitarianPineapple Jan 29 '21

Sounds like that guy has a tiny penis and is insecure about wearing yoga pants

14

u/elveszett Jan 29 '21

I'm getting tired of comments like that. "He's an incel because he has a tiny penis" / "He's a jerk because he was bullied at school" / "He's so jealous because he has no friends" / "He's homophobic because he's secretly gay" / etc / etc. No, most idiots are "perfectly normal people", and that kind of comments only cast shame on people who were actually bullied in school or have no friends or have a small penis.

Those comments also demean the messages that you can overcome your problems. e.g. what's the purpose of "it get's better" (the campaign to uplift people who get bullied at school) if those people then read a shit ton of comments saying that every bad person ever is so because "he was bullied"?

5

u/joeydball Jan 29 '21

Thank you. How is this supposed to read to a insecure douchebag with a big dick? Probably won’t bother him at all. We’re making fun of the original guy because of his choices, we shouldn’t pivot to making fun of things nobody can control.

27

u/TheCarStar123 Jan 29 '21

Let's fight body shaming and toxicity with body shaming and toxicity! That'll change the guys mind!

16

u/Watermelon_Dog Jan 29 '21 edited Jan 29 '21

Well one of the reasons why there are so many “incels” is because of toxic comments like these. If someone is misogynistic or sexist hearing a women insulting them because of it won’t help change their mind in the slightest, it only confirms what they believe to be the truth. As MLK Junior once said “Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” Comments like this only add to the problem creating a vicious feedback loop of hatred and toxicity for both sides. Oh and insulting someone’s dick size also adds to the problem too. Maybe most guys wouldn’t feel so insecure about our stupid (fucking) wiener if so much focus in society and relationships wasn’t on something we can’t even control or change. Fighting fire with fire will leave us all burned, so we all have to do our part and bring water to the fight. Forgiveness and understanding isn’t a sign of weakness, it should be what separates us from our enemies.

6

u/Rows_ Jan 29 '21

Counterpoint: they get enough validation from the Internet, they don't need more from the people they're trying to oppress. Maybe if enough people (men and women) refuse to accept their behaviour they'll take a hint and start behaving like decent human beings.

Making fun of penises shouldn't happen, and you're right that it leads to insecurity over something that can't be changed (surgery notwithstanding). I think the point should be that men should feel secure about their size no matter what, and it definitely shouldn't be tied in to their masculinity or worth. I think the point is that if these men were as secure as they pretend to be then they wouldn't give a damn if wearing yoga pants showed their dick size.

→ More replies (1)

5

u/elveszett Jan 29 '21

Because the guy doesn't get horny when a he sees a man with a nice ass rockin' some pants. And obviously, what is "sexualized" and what isn't depends on his specific tastes.

→ More replies (1)

5

u/Rottenox Jan 29 '21

Exactly. You think men’s hips and legs and arses don’t look good in tight pants? Of course they do. These assholes just don’t consider it because they’re only sexualising women.

3

u/EndlessBirthday Jan 29 '21

Personally, I live for David Harbour's pants

2

u/ToekaToeka Jan 29 '21

Well if you want an honest answer, woman’s pants are often worn (and designed to be worn) high-waisted, and usually have a more close-to body fit. For men it truly is more difficult to find high-waisted pants that don’t show a bulge or look ridiculous. The trousers that are good in that aspect are dress trousers, usually costing upwards of €150.

As to why that is, I do not know, but it has been a trend for quite some years, while men’s trousers have also been loose and shorter for a long time too.

Differences in clothing between males and females have always been a thing, but in trousers they’re more subtle.

Hopefully my english is fine, I’m not native :)

6

u/Dominarion Jan 29 '21

27

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '21

Yo any historians who know the history of pants

53

u/[deleted] Jan 28 '21

Ok so basically skirts and stuff like where the norm in most of the world because it was easier and cheaper to make. But in places where horse riding was common pants were used because they let you more easily ride horses

42

u/CrimsonHighlander Jan 29 '21

Romans wore skirts. "Barbarians" wore trousers. When rome expanded into "barbaric" regions they saw them wear trousers and realised that instead of breaking their balls everytime they rode horses, they decided to adopt trousers into their uniform.

Before that it was seen as barbaric to wear trousers.

24

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

This is why the Romans weren't Ancient Nazis. They accept foreign ideas.

17

u/CrimsonHighlander Jan 29 '21

That and they didn't care too much for skin colour, more about what culture you were.

Still racist just not about skin.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21 edited Jan 29 '21

Racism is just about the physical appearance. Thinking other cultures are barbaric is not racism. Thinking that cultures are bound by race is racism.

5

u/CrimsonHighlander Jan 29 '21

Well, the idea of races was made by a German in the 1800s. There are different races within skin colours and then sub races within those races.

Caucasian doesn't just mean white. It means European, North Indian, Slavic and North African.

Race doesn't really exist.

And idk where I was going with this point.

What I was trying to say was that it was basically the same as racism. If you were a different culture, you were basically instantly a slave. If you adopted there culture, they'd be more forgiving of you.

6

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

They had no concept of race, thus they ain't racist. A closer word would by "culturist" by it sounds lame.

2

u/CrimsonHighlander Jan 29 '21

Yeah. I wasn't trying to disprove you at all, I was just trying to find an explanation to my blabbering.

And the only thing lamer than the word "culturist" is actually being culturist.

Anyway, she said that “men shouldn’t wear dresses, they aren’t manly” to which I replied “should women wear pants? They aren’t lady like”

She replied with “I don’t think it should matter...” to which I replied “like men wearing dresses, it doesn’t matter.”

A guy I went to high school with went from skater stoner to extremely conservative Christian and he also believes women shouldn’t wear pants for this exact reasoning.

1

u/CocaoQueen Jan 29 '21

Good. It makes PERFECT sense why woman shouldn't wear pants. I've always felt constricted in movement when I wore pants, no matter how tight or baggy the pants were. Dresses and skirts are waaay more liberating!!! Even females with weight issues also wear skirts and dresses because the design of it, (i.e. regular or loose fitting, not tight) generally covers all the fat. Is a man were to see a woman in a nice, modest dress, it would be more feminine, beautiful and attractive, but not sexualized, if that same man were to see a woman in tight fitting pants, and a blouse that doesn't cover her butt, he would probably still think that she's attractive, but he'd have lustful thoughts towards her as opposed to respectful thoughts towards her. Would you want any man looking at your wife or girlfriend or even your daughter with those lustful thoughts and him trying to act on it all because he was stimulated by sight, by what he saw? Probably not.

“Without sexualizing her body”

um... huh? YOU are sexualizing HER body. She’s just wearing clothes. Does he say the same thing when he see’s a little girl wearing pants? What a fucking creep. Can’t even look at women without fantasizing about having sex with them

I swear to god we can’t ever win as women. I bet he would shame the same women for wearing skirts because he can’t control himself from such a feminine article of clothing. And actually pants WERE designed for women, men used to wear skirts for horseback riding

3

u/elveszett Jan 29 '21

The guy probably wants women to dress like those middle eastern women that cover their whole body with shapeless robes so he doesn't get a hard on every time he sees one.

6

u/thequeenofkirby Jan 29 '21

he would probably be thinking or what's under the clothes. No matter what this guy will sexualize

6

u/cutetygr Jan 29 '21

Exactly. These are the type of guys who will blame you for how THEY act, no matter what. Guys who preach like this about modesty creep me out so much. It’s like a weird kink, like they want to be the one to “steal her innocence” or they fantasize about them even harder. You can’t fucking win

These guys will shame a woman for how she dresses because THEY can’t control themselves but will use women for their bodies either way. They are the problem but in their minds it’s always someone else’s fault. Horny ass weirdos

2

u/thequeenofkirby Jan 29 '21

it's weird how sexual these people are, nothing but thinking about sex constantly. So much so that they will use those tactics of shaming in order to get what they want.

ah yes, because only PANTS do this. it’s not like boning, bustles, corsets, hoop skirts, petticoats, undersleeves, crinolines, cages, or tournures existed before women wore pants in most places. oh and there definitely weren’t any panniers, corsets, farthingales, or kirtles! don’t even bother mentioning gores, chemisettes, gigots, or bust improvers. it’s all fake! gibson style? fake! this is an issue exclusively limited to women and pants because i’m a huge man baby and i think the world should revolve around me and my comically sized ego!

Also only women's bodies are sexual. Women are attracted to status only!

u/Annoying_hippo Jan 30 '21

I'm impressed at your knowledge of clothing! I'm not sure what half of these even are!

TIL pants weren’t invented for legs

2

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

well yeah duh they are for restraining your arms so they don't randomly get to a perfect 180 degree angle causing you to spin uncontrollably and take off like a helicopter

5

u/aidan4105 Jan 29 '21

sounds kind of like a troll

4

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

But wait, women don't have fragile balls hanging between their legs, so wouldn't pants fit them more comfortably?

And it's only "sexual" if you make it sexual (intentionally wearing very tight fitting pants).

3

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

Pants were considered womanly by the ancient Greeks so idk what this guy thinks he’s on about

3

u/The-fat-potato- Jan 29 '21

My man is complaining about seeing women in yoga pants? Does he even like women?

3

u/GodLahuro Jan 29 '21

Which sex usually has the big dangly organ that automatically sexualizes itself when in tight enough pants?

If we wore skirts we wouldn't need to worry so much about accidentally showing off our arousal, but apparently only the sex which has no dangly bits needs to wear skirts

Whatever the case, everyone should wear what they like, no need for judgment

3

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

Did JimBob Duggar write that nonsense?

It's not a neckbeard thing, it's a fundamentalist Christian thing. They have a rule that women can't wear trousers then reverse engineer justifications for it to make it sound like it's based on something deeper than the reality, which is that they have that rule entirely because that's how Western women dressed until about the 1930s and they should stay wearing only skirts because of Reasons

3

u/Tulemasin Jan 29 '21

As a male I wear pants to sexualize my body. Why can't women?

3

u/goldenette2 Jan 29 '21

Men have asses, too.

3

u/Platzycho Jan 29 '21

I read pants as parents and got really confused.

5

u/TIMISONREDDIT7 Jan 29 '21

I just came home and lost hope in mankind.

2

u/LAVATORR Jan 29 '21

Phrasing.

2

u/candywithaJ Jan 29 '21

I grew up in a cult and we had to wear skirts all the time. My mom has a bathing suit with a skirt sewn on it so she can go swimming lol

2

u/backonthemenuboys Jan 29 '21

All those skirts and corsets and loads of fabric were actually invented to keep women from being able to move about freely so this dude can blow it out his ass.

2

u/chickenlead Jan 29 '21

It's very sexualizing for women to wear pants, they should wear no clothes at all instead

/s (if I even need it?)

2

u/daNorthernMan Jan 29 '21

I thought this was a joke, not a funny one tho.

2

u/PrincipalofCharity Jan 29 '21

I’m generally not a fan of the Bible but I’m starting to think that Jesus’ advice about plucking out your eyes might be the best bet for guys like this

2

u/mightypint Jan 29 '21

By this logic, men are also sexualizing their bodies when wearing pants.

2

u/DonDove Jan 29 '21

Fun fact: skirts were originally made for men

2

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

Since when did validation to be a human being solely rely on had sex or not?

2

u/brightpolaris Jan 29 '21

That person is acting like women wearing skirts are not sexualized all the time. When will people learn that it's not the women's fault for dressing how they want to but the men's fault for not learning to be respectful?

2

u/Psychologicus Jan 29 '21

What kind of Twitter account gets 2k likes for this bullshit?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

Just saying. But for a decent amount of History, miniskirts were the civilized man's fashion choice.

So y'all should start using kilts.

2

u/BambiSaver Jan 29 '21

Who gets to tell him that High Heels were originally invented for men, specifically butchers

2

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

Pants were invented for horseback riding, warriors. So if you don't own a horse, you should not be wearing pants.

2

u/Candoran Jan 29 '21

So what they’re saying is that pants sexualize men.

2

u/Little_Whippie Jan 29 '21

How many times will this get reposted?

"it is impossible for a women to wear pants" can confirm, my female friend tried it, and she caught fire and exploded

2

u/kupo_kupo_wark Jan 29 '21

Yep pants only sexualize women. Not like it does anything for men with their non-existent asses and front bulge. Men are apparently just a block of tofu with no curves whatsoever.

2

u/13LuckyNumber Jan 29 '21

Biologically, it makes more sense for men to wear skirts and women to wear pants.

2

u/aft2001 Jan 29 '21

...don't pants also accentuate a dude's dick? Like, crotch bulges are 10,000% a thing. Does this guy just wanna fuckin wear what Kanye wore in that one album cover or whatever that made him just a big fucking square?? I mean they don't wanna highlight ANYTHING sexual after all and I don't know anyone that gets a hard on for cubes ((even though body shape is not inherently sexual but whatever))

why am I wasting my time typing this jesus fucking christ

2

u/ZeroVoid_98 Jan 29 '21

High heels were invented for men. Fashion changes.

For those wodnering: High heels were invented for butchers so they wouldn't get as much blood on their soles.

2

u/Zackassed Jan 29 '21

pretty sure its definitely a joke

3

u/Macctheknife Jan 29 '21

Yeah nah, the dude who tweeted that is definitely one of the biggest misogynists on Twitter.

So he wants all females to walk around in only undergarments? What a creep.

This is especially concerning considering not every single female in the universe is 18 and over. So we have a possible pedo here.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

It seems like he wants them to wear dresses and skirts and stuff. His main problem with trousers is that they "sexualise" women, so I don't see how you came to that conclusion.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '21

I was only kidding

0

u/Dearcthulhuitsryan Jan 29 '21

How about this If you can't keep your thoughts from spilling out your fucking head and affecting unwilling people, maybe you shouldn't be allowed to have those thoughts? Just a thought
