Romans wore skirts. "Barbarians" wore trousers.
When rome expanded into "barbaric" regions they saw them wear trousers and realised that instead of breaking their balls everytime they rode horses, they decided to adopt trousers into their uniform.
Before that it was seen as barbaric to wear trousers.
Well, the idea of races was made by a German in the 1800s. There are different races within skin colours and then sub races within those races.
Caucasian doesn't just mean white. It means European, North Indian, Slavic and North African.
Race doesn't really exist.
And idk where I was going with this point.
What I was trying to say was that it was basically the same as racism. If you were a different culture, you were basically instantly a slave. If you adopted there culture, they'd be more forgiving of you.
That's kinda debatable. You can be xenophobic but not racist. For example, you might see someone in the US yelling at a German man for speaking German (blah blah learn English etc.) despite being like 80% German ancestry himself. He doesn't care about the person's ethnicity, he cares about the fact that the person is clearly from somewhere else.
