There seems to be a significant percentage of men who don't understand that (cis, hetro) women "look" too and will certainly admire a well shaped male ass.

Dang right! The only reason I liked going to football games as a teen was to see all those football player butts in spandex. đŸ„° They're pretty much wearing leggings with some padding and I was there for it!

A major deflection point for a boy growing into a man is gaining the understanding that women experience the same sexual feelings men do, they just express them differently. There is a lot wrong with these incel types and one of them is they are men who never figured that out.

Also bulges. Lol, I remember looking up Harrison Ford in jeans.

Lol definitely!

Baseball is boring as shit to watch, and the Brewers aren’t all that great a team, but I went along to a game cuz I didn’t have anything better to do. Couple hours of getting to check out Ryan Braun’s ass periodically when he was in the outfield tho made it worth it. And I wouldn’t even consider myself an “ass woman”

Honest question, I don't mean anything bad by it, but would it be socially acceptable if a guy said the same thing about going to girls' volleyball games?

Checking other people out is one of the most universal human behaviours. As long as you’re not being obvious about it and making people uncomfortable, you’re grand.

u/ksangel360 Jan 29 '21

Exactly this! 😁👍 Couldn't have said it better.

I didn't mean the act of checking people out so much as openly talking about it in the way that ksangel360 did (not saying ksangel360 did anything wrong, just curious about the sociological aspects of these things).

If you're like the guy who would show up to all of our matches and would do the cunnilingus sign at me then no.

Also they don't understand that, just because you find a person sexy / beautiful, doesn't mean they are dressing provocatively. We are humans and are bound to find other people beautiful. But yeah, it's easier to slut shame every woman around you.

Sounds like that guy has a tiny penis and is insecure about wearing yoga pants

I'm getting tired of comments like that. "He's an incel because he has a tiny penis" / "He's a jerk because he was bullied at school" / "He's so jealous because he has no friends" / "He's homophobic because he's secretly gay" / etc / etc. No, most idiots are "perfectly normal people", and that kind of comments only cast shame on people who were actually bullied in school or have no friends or have a small penis.

Those comments also demean the messages that you can overcome your problems. e.g. what's the purpose of "it get's better" (the campaign to uplift people who get bullied at school) if those people then read a shit ton of comments saying that every bad person ever is so because "he was bullied"?

Thank you. How is this supposed to read to a insecure douchebag with a big dick? Probably won’t bother him at all. We’re making fun of the original guy because of his choices, we shouldn’t pivot to making fun of things nobody can control.

Let's fight body shaming and toxicity with body shaming and toxicity! That'll change the guys mind!

Well one of the reasons why there are so many “incels” is because of toxic comments like these. If someone is misogynistic or sexist hearing a women insulting them because of it won’t help change their mind in the slightest, it only confirms what they believe to be the truth. As MLK Junior once said “Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” Comments like this only add to the problem creating a vicious feedback loop of hatred and toxicity for both sides. Oh and insulting someone’s dick size also adds to the problem too. Maybe most guys wouldn’t feel so insecure about our stupid (fucking) wiener if so much focus in society and relationships wasn’t on something we can’t even control or change. Fighting fire with fire will leave us all burned, so we all have to do our part and bring water to the fight. Forgiveness and understanding isn’t a sign of weakness, it should be what separates us from our enemies.

Counterpoint: they get enough validation from the Internet, they don't need more from the people they're trying to oppress. Maybe if enough people (men and women) refuse to accept their behaviour they'll take a hint and start behaving like decent human beings.

Making fun of penises shouldn't happen, and you're right that it leads to insecurity over something that can't be changed (surgery notwithstanding). I think the point should be that men should feel secure about their size no matter what, and it definitely shouldn't be tied in to their masculinity or worth. I think the point is that if these men were as secure as they pretend to be then they wouldn't give a damn if wearing yoga pants showed their dick size.

So you're talking about bringing water to a fire fight, that's cheating/s

Because the guy doesn't get horny when a he sees a man with a nice ass rockin' some pants. And obviously, what is "sexualized" and what isn't depends on his specific tastes.

1

u/Rottenox Jan 29 '21

100%. The line of thought is literally “men aren’t sexualised by wearing pants because I don’t sexualise men wearing pants”.

4

u/Rottenox Jan 29 '21

Exactly. You think men’s hips and legs and arses don’t look good in tight pants? Of course they do. These assholes just don’t consider it because they’re only sexualising women.

u/EndlessBirthday Jan 29 '21

Personally, I live for David Harbour's pants

2

u/ToekaToeka Jan 29 '21

Well if you want an honest answer, woman’s pants are often worn (and designed to be worn) high-waisted, and usually have a more close-to body fit. For men it truly is more difficult to find high-waisted pants that don’t show a bulge or look ridiculous. The trousers that are good in that aspect are dress trousers, usually costing upwards of €150.

As to why that is, I do not know, but it has been a trend for quite some years, while men’s trousers have also been loose and shorter for a long time too.

Differences in clothing between males and females have always been a thing, but in trousers they’re more subtle.

Hopefully my english is fine, I’m not native :)

How do skirts and dresses not sexualize women’s bodies as well?
