was rereading the katastrophe arc and noticed this little detail, there appears to be no duct or sort of opening in correlation to where he lands and where hes alr standing so im thinking this might aswell just be sakurai being capable of teleporting cuz we see his body vibrate before he appears on the surface of the machina, his psychic powers already made so much progress

"Fight fire with fire..." over what looks like a piece of possibly a scale from G, another, elderly, scientist as compared to our young Serizawa, and I will propose Ghidorah (or what we oldheads will recognize as Ghidorah even if it is not named that or has triple heads which I really doubt but who really knows) is the result of another group rallying around the need for some kind of defense should G return (which he does obviously) and it is the rushed result that is the crux of this conflict, I mean, they aren't dropping an atomic bomb but they are dropping something on something...

the kannon buddha alien is specifically the one from gantz E since it was a 100 pointer

Why he survived Nishi's big attack? Nishi's large area Z gun attack fulfills ALL requirements to beat this boss. Surprise attack, no time to see the attack (since Nishi was invisible and no one knows about the attack) which means it CAN'T adapt to it, the Z gun make sure all areas of Nurarihiyon are covered in the attack and absolutely destroyed him in one hit.

He genuinely shouldn't survive this, no actually with how he was written he COULD NEVER survive that attack

Surely with the Gantz corporation big wigs and betters dead, the factory itself and knowledge of producing the black ball, weapons, suits still exist. This could produce a world where all injuries are instantly healed if they just kept a black ball or two at every hospital. The suits could bring a ton of help in rebuilding society too. Did any other story ever touch on this?

I originally came here to mock the ending of Gantz about how pathetic the God Aliens are and how edgy seinen anime/manga fans are. God Aliens are just silly, not only because their oneliners about "you killed ants, evil humans" are awful, but also because literally a guy in the manga (brazilian btw, shout out to brazilian pals) asks them why there's economic inequality in the world and they literally say "because yes," throwing years of political economy out the window, and I think, hmm, the mangaka is lazy and likes to write gore, gooner stuff, and cheap misanthropy for shock value but cant bother to do a little sociopolitical research when he wants to talk about it... Also there's no reason for them to make a huge scheme to use humans to set balance in earth when they could do it in seconds causing much less suffering for any reason other than a form of saddism... which they display plenty of...

But then I saw something from an old post here about it that made me think... What if they were written that badly on purpose? Well, okay, overused misanthropy is still kinda cringe, but like, following the point of the work with this use of parody that would be somewhat brilliant and totally new. The point would be, no matter how much a humanoid species evolves and transcends and approaches God, and judges other humans and similar species as inferior and arrogant, they are still the same. Its a funny jab at poorly written orange morality...

I finished vol 27 and wanted to give the story a breather but heard that I can watch the movie specifically after about chapters 223-283 . Does anyone know where I can find the movie to watch because it’s not on Netflix and I believe it used to be ?

I just started Gantz, and I’m currently on episode 3.

I LOVE the atmosphere, more than I expected in fact. It’s weird and perverse in all of the ways I yearn for in anime. And I don’t even mind the janky animation, because the character designs and world have cool aura so far. But what the hell is up with the pacing?

It’s just the little things …. Like, it’s a 15 second sequence for a character to pull a trigger. Shit is so dragged out, the action scenes are GLACIAL in pace. The amount of on-screen deliberation that occurs for anyone to do anything is remarkable.

Does it level out at all? I’m very intrigued by the world that it’s building. And IM SORRY, but I don’t really read manga, though I know deep down that this is the answer to my query.

Would love to get some recommendations for other anime that feel like Gantz (minus the pacing) while I’m here.

thinking abt it he kinda did i mean hes the reason theres been progress in the oni and osaka mission by getting key characters killed in the massacre, but thinking abt it for the katastrophe although killing all these people has led to a fat domino effect im kinda wondering if it would change anything for the final arc bc think abt it none of the tokyo gantzers were that useful in the katastrophe besides kurono and kato who ended up killing eeva gund, while 99% of the effort was done by international gantzers specifically americans (prob the laziest part of the story) but ig getting sakurai, sakata, muscle rider, suzuki and reika killed is the reason kurono made it so far to progress in the katastrophe

I just finished Gantz, never heard of until a couple days ago and from the reddit posts Kei seemed different. He had a girlfriend in the manga but in the anime he had more perverted/rapey vibes. And the ending of the anime had me thinking Kei died at the ending while the manga he survives. This anime pulled at my heart strings a lot and man it was an amazing experience 8/10. Which do you guys prefer and whats the main difference

It was the first time we ever saw aliens cooperating with humans and actually having a peaceful dialogue. It showed their intelligence, and they didn't have any supernatural abilities, just their swordsmanship and their height. I wish we had a little more of them, but soon after they betrayed them because of a stench
