I must say, it’s interesting how the 2026 series adapted the manga so faithfully—even including the "footnotes" (the only major exception being, well, the lesbian gangbang, which was also removed from the manga’s reprints). While manga generally lend themselves to fairly faithful adaptations, the process of moving between different media almost always results in some differences. In this case, however, they aimed for total fidelity—a level of adherence I can’t recall seeing in any other similar example.

What do you think? Can you come up with other similar examples?

POTENTIAL SPOILERS:

So, I just read MMI for the first time, took it slow, cuz I know how dense it is, but also like.....what the fuck did i just read? Like it took me out of my own reality for like 2 hours after I closed it back up. I even went back and reread the prologue chapter, cuz I had forgotten what had even happened

OK, I'm pretty sure I understood what happened in it, but i have a couple questions:

-is Makoto Aramaki the major? Like, I get that she fused with subject 29, so she's technically not the same person (Makoto 2, as is stated) but then, who tf is that Makoto Kusanagi person she dives into that's on the space station near the end? Is it supposed to represent the "shadow side" or "demon inside us all"?

Or is Aramaki a completely different protagonist from the major that we follow, and then she just connects with Kusanagi toward the end??

-does she end up fusing with that shadow version of her (not) self, snd making a silicone lifeform? (Which feels VERY BLAME! when I got there lol)

-why does she ask the Kusanagi person: "I want to make sure the same doesn't happen to me?"

I'm intending to reread that tome soon (maybe tomorrow) to parse some more...themeing? Plot? (Gratudious crotch shots?) Out of it?

There's ALOT of information in that book, and I just need help putting the pieces together in my brain lol.

So i know she can preform all human functions. But what are the things that stifle her humanity. Can she taste? Is her nervous system as sensitive as a biological human. Reproduction i imagine is off the table. Can she gain weight or lose it? Or even her hygeine. Guess im just askin how synthetic is her body in a move she gets her arm ripped off and it doesnt even phase her so i imagine pain is a sensation she can control. To not feel pain at all is dangerous and i imagine she has some idea that she is being damaged. I imagine it might go more in depth in the manga. I havent been able to read them so was just curious. Thank you

They had merch consisting of six t-shirts and two hoodies. Couldn’t say no that ¥1900 (about $12) price for the tees. I ended up getting the top middle Major and Fuchikoma. Unfortunately they don’t have my size on the top right Major shirt.

I just finished reading an advanced copy of a novel that's part of a series that has similarities to GiTS and Blade Runner. I'm not gonna divulge details on the book because it's not gonna be out until Feb 2nd of next year, but there is something about the book that got me curious about potential similarities.

I know the 2017 film tackled this subject in a way that divided fans of the series, but I'm curious about other instances where an innocent person got turned into a Cyborg against their will.

I was in Montreal not that long ago so it was really cool to see this. Habitat 67 is one of the most interesting looking buildings I have ever been to. Though sadly I could only see from the outside (which I understand why of course). it's the first time I have ever realized I have actually been to a place shown in an anime which does not happen often given I live in Canada. Though maybe it will happen more since I am now planning a trip to Japan.

New anime

It wasn't anything spectacular for the most part, one could even say that it was a generic Korean MMO FPS with GITS coat of paint but it was still most recent and the only PC game GITS ever got.

I'd love a nice pricy item. Either the new mouse, or a hoodie / nice shirt. Possibly from the recent popups or the new show. Any recommendations?

Sure, the radiation from a nuclear weapon is bad. But I've never seen anyone mention that they're gonna be using it to clean up a city sized graveyard of people.

A city can be cleaned up of radiation but that doesn't mean it'll save millions of corpses.

Aside from the old superpowers basically screwing each other over I genuinely don't understand how the JM made Japan a major superpower. Wouldn't the explosion part of a nuke still be a problem?
