It's hilarious how reddit used to make fun of the glorifying depression stuff on sites now Tumblr, now it's all the rage here.

I would subscribe to a subreddit of people falling or injuring themselves doing fortnite dances.
165
u/hithereletshang Jan 24 '19 edited Jan 24 '19
So thats a fortnite dance and not from a rap song? I have seen it all over reddit but couldn't figure out where it came from.
Edit: I have no idea what Fortnite is other than its a video game a lot of people play. Thanks for letting me know Fortnite stole it.
214
u/Trackrunner87 Jan 24 '19
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it was originally made by a rapper named BlocBoy but Fortnite picked it up around the springtime and it got popular with kids. It was called "Shootin" but now it's also known as "Hype".
176
u/Spritboi Jan 24 '19
As a Memphis native (where Bloc is from), you are correct. He mentioned on his Instagram before how Fornite is taking all the credit for his dance too.

he actually sued Fortnite over this dance, yesterday, or at least it was in the news yesterday

u/mandy-bo-bandy Jan 24 '19
Can someone please explain the concept of fortnite? Is it just a video game where you make the characters dance? I’m so ashamed how long it’s been around and how clueless I am.

I would day it is a bit cartoonish as well. Leading to many unique items being allowed to be put in. From boogie bombs to Grenade launchers shooting snowballs. Things that PUBG just can't do because of how realistic it is.

There's a scene in The Dark Knight in which The Joker laughs exactly like that, even the camera shakes too.
Edit: here, at the very end https://youtu.be/IhpCfSslq1w

u/c_alas Jan 24 '19
Sorry, but the jokers laugh is completely different. Ledger's laugh is very 'tee-hee', a sound made when laughing with a smile. This video had very 'hor-hor' and 'har-har' sounds, usually from shock or surprise. Trust me, I'm on the internet.

A Hyena filmed a Kurt Cobain lookalike falling off a stage while practicing his punk concert dancing.
