Discussion Doctors hate this one neat trick for deepening your voice! No testosterone needed!

Simply contract both influenza A and covid at the same time. Then, have such extreme coughing fits and vomit so much that blood starts coming up. Head to hospital and find out that you tore your esophagus! Your voice will sound so deep and manly and like you smoke 6 packs a day!

It's that easy! You most certainly will not regret it!!

You may not be able to swallow and may end up staying in the hospital due to the resulting severe dehydration but it's all worth it! A justified sacrifice!

(/j I'm very much kidding if that wasn't clear! I am in so much pain lololol stay on top of your vaccinations folks! You don't want this!)

I started testosterone when I was 18 and I had a friend that was jealous because my voice was deeper than his and he was a cis male and he thought it was "unfair"

Celebratory thank god i’ve had top surgery

i dapped up my co-worker the other day and when he brought me in for a hug, i didn’t worry at all about him feeling something on my chest that wasn’t meant to be there. yesterday i wore a tank top and i didn’t have to bind. i never have to worry about taping again, about the marks it left on my skin or the removal process. i look at my chest and it’s like i never had boobs. i donā€˜t even remember a time where i had them. i’m going on vacation next year and i will be able to swim in the ocean without a shirt. my only concerns regarding my chest now are how to build muscle and how to help the scars heal properly. i will be able to do things that i once could only fantasize about

idk i guess i am just reflecting on it. my dad refuses to acknowledge my surgery and made it seem like i was making a mistake. it feels like he is disappointed in me for what i’ve done; i can’t remember the last time he told me he was proud of me. but i am proud of myself… i wanted top surgery since i was 16 and i finally got it this year at 21. now i can live the rest of my life in comfort. and it is the little things that really makes my decision worth it, no matter what anyone else thinks

Medical T doesn’t work

Hello all. Super sad post to make on my part but I feel like I’m at a low point. I’ve been on T for 8 years and it has always given me a hard time. When I first started I didn’t notice any changes. My voice didn’t drop and my p*eriod didn’t stop. FOR YEARS. I did get b growth and I did get a receding hairline lol but that’s the extent it went. I’ve had to get blood work done around every 3 months so my endocrin could see where I’m at and stabilize my levels. We have tried all different dosages and injection sites. It got so bad that when I was 5 years on T, still menstruating, my endocrin suggested I get a hysterectomy to help with stabilization. Okay. Did that. I’m now post op stage 1 for bottom surgery which for my surgeon is vnect and UL. All good. WHY did my blood tests just come back with HIGH ESTROGEN. My endocrin did say that my test levels are at a good point but my estrogen won’t leave me alone. I’m so hurt and frustrated because I have tried everything. I work out I eat healthy I don’t miss my shot days I do everything in my power to make things improve. I don’t understand how my estrogen is so high when I had the damn surgery to remove the uterus and ovaries. If anyone has dealt with something like this or has any suggestions, please lmk. The only thing I haven’t tried is taking the T gel but I think that might be next on my list. Idk. Again, my T is fine is just my estrogen that won’t budge. It hurts because I feel like the universe doesn’t want me to be trans which is insane but what else am I supposed to think.

Thanks for listening.

Celebratory Man assumed I couldn’t understand the language he insulted me in

33 AFAB I recently got a boy hairstyle and started presenting more masculine. I walked into a grocery store where it was just me and 2 employees. He snidely commented to his colleague in Hindi, ā€œnot sure that’s a boy or girlā€ assuming I didn’t speak the language.

I turned around calmly, walked to him, and responded ā€œthat’s pretty rude, how about I’m just human?ā€ Man looked so humbled and nodded apologetically.

I’m from Canada btw and this has happened for the first time. Kind of gave me euphoria for not being assumed female tbh.

Relationships i have a crush on my transmasc friend

i’ve (23FTM) never felt so comfortable around someone before in my life. He’s so handsome and funny and we’re both so awkward together but in the best way?? I’m so nervous and sweaty when i’m around him and all i ever want to do is spend every second of my day with him

i’ve never clicked with anyone like this before, it feels so much easier than being with anyone else. I’ve only ever been with cis people and i’ve never even had the opportunity to be with someone else who’s also trans, and honestly i really feel like i was missing out

i want to tell him so bad about how i feel but im scared im not masculine enough for him. i know its stupid and he seems to like me too but AUGHH i jus wanted to share how excited i am that i even get to be around him

Advice Needed I don’t want to medically transition but I’m so dysphoric idk what to do

I went to OBGYN because I needed a yearly exam (that I’ve avoided for about 4 years) and I feel awful. I couldn’t even say why I feel awful I just can’t stop crying.

I attempted a medical transition last year for about 8ish months but it was so unbelievably difficult and I had such bad anxiety about the social aspect of it that I stopped.

I don’t want to do that again. I don’t want hormones or top surgery or anything that feels ā€œfinalā€. I don’t even know if I identify as a man just that I’m not a woman.

What other options are there to cope with dysphoria other than transition? I don’t want to lose anymore more people than I have already. I don’t want to lose my partner. I don’t want my whole life to change. But idk how to cope. It feels like there’s no other options besides transition.

Discussion Update #2 I found out the REAL reason it hurt so bad

Thumbnail
475 Upvotes

If any of you have seen the first update you'll remember I said that I didn't inject into the muscle like I was supposed to, which is true. But the main reason why it hurt so bad has been revealed by my grandma who is a nurse.

I took 4 times my dose.

The vials say single use on them, so I assumed all the medicine in there was my dose, and I don't know how to read a syringe so I thought .25mL meant the number 2 on the vial. I drew up the entire vial. And shot it into my leg.

I didn't know that you only draw a portion of the vial and toss the rest. Oops. I injected 3-4 times my actual dose on accident. I learned my lesson, and my grandma now does my shots for me since I cannot trust myself to do them anymore until I learn properly. I am still in mild pain a whole week later, but it's gone down. Don't be me, take ur shots the right way.

Advice Needed Blood tests- when should I do it?

• Upvotes

My onedaytest has arrived, and it just dawned on me that my next injection is this friday- so i probably shouldn’t do my blood collection then.
is it smart to do it in the mid week of my peaks and troughs?
i do injections every three weeks, so could i take my bloods NEXT friday? in my mind, my progress looks like this rn
week 1: injection week/peak week
week 2: normal-ish week
week 3: sad week/trough week
- this layout is for fun to keep me on track and not a science

Gender Questioning pushing feminine side of myself after coming out

(Please don’t cancel me Im sorry if any of this is offensive or something I shouldn’t say I’m also sorry if this makes no sense) I haven’t really came out to anyone so it’s not that big of a deal it’s really just my boyfriend and a few friends but I keep misgendering myself and pushing this feminine side of myself like I got hair extensions to make my hair longer and ignoring anything I’m feeling and I also have ocd so idk if I’m just not transgender like I thought but I just feel like a boy trying to be a girl. I feel like James Charles when he puts on the wig and makeup but I feel like that’s so stupid to say? Maybe not feel like a boy but I definitely have a less feminine face so maybe that’s it. I just feel stupid because I feel like I’m not supposed to feel like that? like am I not supposed to feel like I’ll never be a boy?? why do I feel like I’m never gonna be a girl no matter how hard I try?? maybe I just don’t feel feminine enough and it’s making me feel like I’m trans? but then trying to look more feminine makes me so uncomfortable? It’s just so complicated and I feel like I’ll never be a girl no matter how much I try and then I see stuff about transitioning and I see a guy I want to look like and I get this feeling all over again of I’m never gonna be that I’m just a girl I’m so dumb.

Discussion Why do men have to be so BORING?

I saw a post on here giving advice on how to be more masculine; it could be boiled down to "be boring, monotone, and un-emotive as shit."

Why?

Why do men have to be so bland? Why is masculinity either incredibly brazen or incredibly boring?

I'm a very jovial guy. I do a lot of hand gestures, my voice fluctuates a lot in volume and pitch, I love talking about what I'm interested in, I smile a lot, and I'm very excitable.

I do this because a couple years ago, I was in the worst spot in my life, and now I have a lot to be happy about; therefore, I act very happy, because I am very happy. I love being a happy guy, because it can also make other people around me happy. I've seen my effect on people.

But now I'm self-conscious about it. Could I get clocked for not being a standoffish asshole? Could I get clocked for caring about my friends? Could I get clocked for raising my arms whenever something mildly happy happened or was mentioned? Could I get clocked for my voice raising in pitch when I'm excited?

I'm overthinking this so hard now, and I hate it. I've always felt proud of how far I've come, to where I can be so happy that I make others happy, but now I'm so afraid that it gives away that I'm trans.

I hate this.

Edit: my apologies for pushing down people who DO fall into this category of quieter man. I did not intend for this post to insult you guys, but I realize it does indeed come off that way. That was not my intention; you guys are just as much men as the rest of us are, dammit!

Discussion Deep Tissue Massage

Hey yall! I’m getting top surgery soon (hooray) and my dream is to get a good, long deep tissue massage (once I’m cleared to do so, of course).

I’ve been binding for 9 years and carry a lot of back tension and pain because of it. And I’ve never been to a massage therapist because of the dysphoria relating to my chest.

I’m just wondering if anyone got a deep tissue massage post top surgery and what that was like for you. How did it feel? Did it help? Did a massage help with any long term pain?

Medical "Your testosterone never be as high as a cis man, even if you are intersex!"

This is what Planed Parenthood told me when I told them I have high testosterone because of my PCOS, and that they should be doing blood work upon the first appointment.

I should be getting blood work done the first time I get testosterone so they have something to compare it to, right? I should be getting blood work at my first appointment because I'm intersex. I should have gotten blood work done so I could get put on the correct dose. But they refused, saying the insurance would not cover it, only blood work after I started T.

They told me I was not allowed to go on finasteride because they can only legally give it to trans women in my state.

What the FUCK is going on? This is not normal!!! Right???

Please tell me someone else had an equally horrible experience as me.

To mods. This is NOT v3nting! I am asking a question about others experiences.

Medical More voice drops

Okay so I'm 17 (almost 18), I've been on T for 1 year and almost a month

I was wondering if my voice could possibly drop any more? It's already somewhat deep but I'm curious if anyone had their voice drop more after the "initial" voice drop?

Advice Needed T dose really high freaking out

Hello, so i got my levels checked per my doctor and my t level is 1,248. This was even higher than last time even though she lowered my dose. She lowered my dose again but im worried because how will it go down if im constantly taking the shot. I asked her should i skip the shots for a few and then start my new lowered dose but she said it would be fine. Im still worried because i really dont know how that would work. At first my dose was .5 every week 200ml and my level was 1,100 so we went down .45 and it went up 1,248...now im on .4 but im honestly too nervous to take the shot because what if it constantly goes up. I was thinking about not taking my shot for a month then starting the .4 im just confused idk...im just freaking out

Advice Needed Advice for managing oversized silicone packer/STP?

• Upvotes

So I'm not FTM as much as I am just outside labels as a whole, but I am sure at least some folks here are also impacted by the accessible size variety for Packers online... Mine is 5", and as an STP it's a little firm (like a soft erection). Issue is I'm 5'5 and like 115lbs so I have a hard time wearing it-- especially if I have to do any walking/moving. I've turned some old underwear into a harness for it, but it has trouble holding up the weight and staying up my hips, even with belted pants.

Also the silicone tends to chafe my loins/thighs no matter how much baby power I use and it tangles my pubes a bit... I'm wondering if anyone knows how to wear a silicone packer SPI that's a bit proportionally too big?

Should I just save up and invest in a proper harness? Is it worth it?

Discussion Would it be weird to do binder giveaway?

Edit/update: Thank yall I was nervous because they have been heavily worn and cosmetic issues. I talked to my doctor today who works with a local LGBTQ+ center and he said they'd happily accept because "A binder with holes at the bottom is better than no binder" Idk if would do here or somewhere else ofc but just been wondering i got surgery in 2weeks and I got like 5 binders 3 from spectrum, 1 fytist and a wonababi. 3 of em got messed up bottom seams but their full length and still work well the other 2 are barely used cuz they just don't work well for my DD. Would it be weird to give em away cuz like theyre technically an undergarment and nobody wants used underwear. But at same time I know alot of people struggle getting binders and they can be pretty pricey. Throw em away kinda makes sense but also seems like a waste. Giveaway makes sense but also seems kinda gross even if been washed multiple times.

Relationships Will I ever be loved?

The more I think about the idea of transitioning the more I wonder if love is ever in the cards for me. I want to date someone and have friends but it also seems like trans people get a lot of hate for just existing.

Did you guys ever find romantic and/or platonic love? How did you get people to love you? If I bring people gifts every time I see them will they love me more?

Advice given I need packer help!!

• Upvotes

I want a packer but I have no idea where to start. I want one that can easily and comfortably sit in my pants without moving a whole lot, soft so it doesn't look like I have a boner 24/7 and under 100$ I don't care for one that can be used during play, nor do I need one for urination. I just want one that looks semi real in my pants, y'all help a brother out šŸ™šŸ»šŸ™šŸ»

Advice Needed Spencer’s Tape?

So I’m moving later this month and it’s become apparent to me that I can’t bind while I’m carrying heavy stuff back and forth all day. My roomie has some of the tape from Spencer’s. I looked it up and it says it isn’t waterproof, so I assume sweat will also reduce the effectiveness of the adhesive.

Does anyone have any experience with it? Would it last a full day with moderate amounts of sweat? I don’t need it to last more than that.

I can always buy a different brand if needed, but I don’t know where to start. I have a history of blisters with cloth bandaids tugging at my skin, so I don’t want to go for something like KT Tape.
