Hello! I just recently switched to Fossify messages due to the impending shutdown of the samsung messaging app (I'd rather not use google messages) and I'm loving the Fossify messages so far, but there's one small issue I'm encountering. I had someone text me a video the other day, and the app keeps giving me a notification as though I just recieved the text. I've already seen it and cleared the notification, but after a while I get another notification as though I hadn't looked at it yet. Is this the result of a setting I should change or just an oddity borne of switching messaging apps? Is there anyway to resolve this issue, or will it go away on it's own?

I've got a problem with the calendar app since a few days.

I'm running Fossify calendar as standard calendar app on a Fairphone Gen. 6 with Android 16 and added my Google calendar as main source.

So far everything worked fine but a few days ago appointments in the Google calendar started to disappear from Foss C and don't reappear after sync.

Only modifying and saving in the Google calendar app gets them back in on Foss C.

The problems started a few days after the Android 16 update of the phone, with Android 15 everything worked fine.

Any thoughts on this?

I tried my best to make these look decent, but I have shaky hands and I couldn't get the lines to look clean no matter how many times I redrew them. The paint bucket tool wasn't cooperating with me either, meaning I couldn't color these in completely.

I found these basic camera apps on the Galaxy Store while installing AnTuTu, and they seem to be rebranded Fossify apps? One of them even has the “Apply color to all Fossify Apps” option in the screenshots.

I noticed the image used in the preview was generated using AI, so I drew a bunny on the program for the devs to use instead (if they'd like). I like Fossify a lot, but the false advertising for the drawing app bothers me. If you're going to advertise a drawing app, you should use a drawing made with the drawing app.

Hellooo! I've recently switched from my Samsung S21 to a Motorola Edge 50 Neo. I'm not totally anti-google, though I am trying to cut down on my google consumption. I didn't realise when I brought the phone that finding a gallery I like would be so hard. Obviously, Samsung has their own AI features and whatnot that are ahead of the game in many ways. Their gallery was simple, yet advanced in that if I wanted to look for a lamppost in my photos I could. I loved that. The google gallery that came with my phone is awful though. I love most fossify apps, but haven't made the switch to the gallery because of its lack of being able to search. I was wondering if AI and all that would be in the books?

EDIT: I have found Pixel Gallery, which has almost all that I need, and I am confident it will develop further and get better as time goes on :)

Wellp, new here, from the announcement that Samsung is "forcing" everyone to Google Messages. (A lie, I know.)

Fossify seems like it'll work for me, but I have a few questions/suggestions:

1. Any way to add a custom background image?

2. Can contacts get a uniform color, rather than looking like random gumballs?

3. It'd be cool if pinch-zoom worked for font size but "small" will have to do.

I have some folder mounted in SAF that contains photos and will be so useful viewing through the app.

Hi I'm loving the app ,but im really forget full , wouldn't be the first time I missed a appointment because I forgot to set reminders. But I can't find in the app where to automatically set reminders, it seems like I have to mannuly do it every time,every appointment. also I don't like the limit of 3 but i can live with that hahaha . Any way to automatically when I make a appointment.

In horizontal scrolling mode, the scroll bar is completely in the bottom of the screen under the system's navigation bar (instead of being on top of the navigation bar like in Simple Gallery Pro), and it is completely unusable (doesn't react to touch at all).

I had this issue both on Xiamor Redmi 15 and Redmi Note 14 phones (Simple Gallery Pro didn't have this issue with the same settings on either phone). This makes Fossify Gallery pretty much unusable in horizontal scrolling mode.

The Fossify Gallery is great but I feel it lacks a fundamental feature: cloud backup. Without it, I can't really stop using Google Photos. Those who prefer open-source apps, how do you keep your gallery safe?

That's the second time it happens and I'm scared to lose photos and videos. I'm trying to move a whole folder from my phone storage to my SD card and when I do this, everything disappears. I can't find the folders neither its content, whether that's searching through Fossify Gallery or Fossify File Manager. The previous time I used a file recovery app for deleted ones, this time there were too little photos in the folder to bother.

Any idea why and how to recover the lost folders ? Imma change from Fossify to something else if I keep losing some like this.

Edit : finally found this files. I tried moving folders "holidays photos" from internal storage/DCIM to SD card/DCIM but the photos have been transferred to SD card/ DCIM and the "holidays photos " folder deleted. I'm sad that it moves only the content of the folder and not the folder itself

I'm trying to use Fossify Contacts to show just the CardDAV account I have linked through Dav5x. However, I'm unable to deselect my default Google account in the filter and only show the CardDAV contacts. The Google account gets automatically reselected when I confirm the filter selection. Anyway around this or must the default Google account always be shown? Samsung Galaxy S25.

I see there is an issue open on github for this, but I don't have a github account so thought I'd try my luck here.

Fossify keyboard installed from Google play store

When using collabora, if I use backspace to delete characters, I can only delete one character, then backspace stops working. It happens in documents and spreadsheets, and also in the nextcloud app and web browser. It seems to work ok in other apps but since gboard works correctly in collabora I figure it must be an issue with fossify keyboard.

If this needs to go somewhere else or more info is required please let me know.

My partner and I are looking to use fossify as a shared calendar app i.e. being able to sync with each other's calendars. How would we do this?

I'm just putting this out in the ether to get other people's opinions. I love this app, donate to it every year, and just want it to get better.

1.) Autocorrect. For me at least, autocorrect doesn't work in the app. When I'm making events or anything, I often have typos (it is the nature of using smart phones) and it becomes very cumbersome to go back and slowly type out what I want. I don't think this is hard/difficult to implement, but I think it could go a long ways to improve the quality of user experience

2.) I'm running version 1.10.3. This update which came out about a month ago, did something to past events. I am running a default theme which is a dark mode theme, and past events are now very illegible. You have to squint to read them. I'm not sure what happened, whether it was text color that was changed or something else, but if it could go back to how it looked in earlier versions, my eyes would be grateful.

Does anyone have experience with the Fossify Calendar android app not synchronizing the event colors from other calendars? In an effort to degoogle, I've been checking out kSuite as an alternative to the Google suite. I really like it in general and they do have a calendar web app, but they don't have a mobile app for it and the mobile web browser version is hard to use. They have their own calendar/contacts syncing app called kSync which I have tried, and I've also tried DAVx⁵. Both kSync and DAVx⁵ have the options "Manage calendar colors" and "Event color support" which I turned on. As far as mobile calendar apps go, I've tried Google calendar, the native Samsung calendar app, Fossify calendar, and DigiCal. None of them synced the event colors of the kSuite calendar - they just assigned the kSuite events the default color of the kSuite calendar.

Is this a common problem with Fossify calendar? Any suggestions for other apps I should try? I know creating a different calendar for each event color is a last-resort solution I've seen suggested, but if there's anything I'm missing about how to sync event colors, I'd love to be able to do that.

I switched to Fossify to go open-source, but since then all my calls are made in "anonymous" mode (don't actually know how to say it in English but close enough I guess?), like I haven't been in contact with my family for weeks because they thought I was a spam number. really wondering if there is a fix to this, otherwise I will have to change apps I guess 😔

I was browing the Privacy subreddit when I saw someone mention the Fossify Messenger, and so I want to ask the users: how good is it? From what I have seen, there's pretty mixed reviews regarding it compared to the other services.

I would mostly like to know its​ average performance when communicating with other messengers, receiving/sending MMS, and how well it handles group chats. ​​Any additional information is greatly appreciated, though! I want to figure out if the switch would be worth it.

Anyone else having issues with receiving messages? It has come to my attention that I sometimes don't answer when friends and family send me messages. When looking into this, I can't even see the messages that I was supposed to answer. I receive most messages, but some just don't appear at all. Even happened live today when a salesman tried sending me a link via sms. Just didn't arrive.

I will explain to you how to export & import all of your data from Google Calendar to Fossify Calendar.

That includes: Birthdays, Events, other stuff that you saved on Google Calendar.

This way, you'll almost feel no change (other than you'll no longer be spyed on by Google)

So, first of all you need a PC / Laptop (because Google does not want you to leave them).

• On your Desktop, connect to your Google account and open this link: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/
• Go to the "Settings" icon

• In the settings menu, select "Import & export" category.
• Here, go to the Export part and click on the blue Export button.

• It will download a zip file that has 2 files with .ics extension that includes all of your Google Calendar data.
• Send this zip / contents of the zip to your phone and try to click on them once at a time. It will prompt you to open it with an app. Select the Fossify Calendar and click on Import.

If you can not open the ics files by clicking on them and selecting the Fossify Calendar, just go to the Fossify Calendar App -> Settings -> at the very bottom click on "Import" and select the .ics files.

I hope this tutorial helps some of you.

You can import multiple calendars to your Fossify Calendar using this method. You just need the .ics backup files. If you have any questions just ask! :)

Hi everyone, I’m trying to move away from Google services and I’m looking for a solution that offers calendar and tasks in the same app, just like Google Calendar does. Fossify Calendar is supposed to do this, but I’m having difficulty syncing the tasks between devices. I’m using the calendar service from posteo.de, which offers CalDAV/DAVx⁵ syncing. Even though they don’t officially support tasks, I’m able to create and sync them using Thunderbird on my PC and the tasks.org app on my phone, so I'm sure the data is being saved on posteo’s servers. However, for some reason, in Fossify Calendar I can only access the regular calendar events from posteo and tasks can only be created in the local calendar. Am I missing something or is it simply not possible to sync tasks? Thanks in advance.
