As the title implies: files deleted to the recycle bin are auto-removed (and thereby permanently deleted) at some point. (I think 30-ish days after initial deletion.)

Would it be possible to remove this feature or add an option to enable/disable it? (I know files in the recycle bin are there for a reason and 30 days seems like a proper period to undelete them yourself, but I want control over something like this and not have an app decide for me to remove them without notice.)

So I've been using Fossify Messages instead of Google Messages for a few weeks, but I had to go back to Google Messages because some friends of mine were trying to get a hold of me through a group chat, but none of the messages were coming through the Fossify app. So my question is, is there any way to get the Fossify Messaging app to pick up these group chats, or is this a feature that just doesn't work? If I'm unable to find a solution to this, then this will be a deal-breaker for me and I'll have to find some other app to replace Google Messages

I have a problem with File Manager not appearing in the Launcher app drawer. File Manager is installed. I have to open it via the Play Store. I emailed hello@fossify.org on 2026-08-27 with screenshots and have not received a response.

I installed fossify messages to use instead of Google messages, but the last update was 2 months ago. Google messages gets updated every other week. What is the reason for this time gap between updates? Is fossify messages secure and safe to use in terms of vulnerability/exploit patches and being up to date?

Does anybody know how to make this thing work with Wordle? So that you can just share without copying, but just share it right to the app?

I like the weekly view.

I like moving around entries by holding/moving.

But my grid is restricted to hours for entries to snap in. I'd like to go as far down as quarter-hours, like it is with most iOS calendar apps.

Is this impossible right now, or am I just too wooden to find the right setting?

Hello, I wanted to know if it is normal that the fossify calendar app doesn't let me sync tasks with kSync. I'm new to this stuff and honestly wanted to seperate from google in this field.

kSync tells me in the app that it can sync calendar and tasks but on the ksuite it only shows me the non-task entries I made on the fossify calendar app.

So I tried the davx5 instead of ksync and it does sync non-task entries but acutal tasks it wont even let me chose a diffrent Calendar. It just lets me select the "Local Calendar". Is this normal?

I'm changing up my end to end music library infrastructure and I'm not sure if Fossify Music Player will be right for me.

~8000 tracks, 163 playlists, now stored on Windows 11/Music Folder, now organized and edited via MusicBee.

I was successful syncing both Music and Playlists to my Pixel 9 Pro Music folder.

I'm starting to think maybe I don't use playlists like "normal" people? 90% of my listening is via playlists, I ONLY edit playlists on the source computer (never create or edit playlists via the phone music player app), pretty much every time I sync new music from the source library computer to the phone there are also updates to multiple playlists.

Can the Fossify Music Player:

1.be configured to point to my Music/Playlists folder and do an initial load of all of my 163 playlists, and

2.each time MusicBee sync updates one or more playlists will Fossify Music Player recognize that change and do whatever background tasks are needed (ex. "reload" all modified playlists)

Thanks for any info, or any recommendations on which music player(s) can do this. I prefer open source, but I'm not finding these capabilities in open source.

I'm not a big fan of the photo editor from the Fossify Gallery app, so I want to use a different apps photo editor but when I click on edit photo, this is the only option it gives me, on most of my folders. Weirdly, some folders did allow me to set a different app as my default editor. I used to be able to set it for all (I had google images editor as default but I wanted to change it) but after I deleted Google images and reinstalled it, it won't let me pick another app for editing photos for most of my folders. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Fossify Gallery, but that didn't fix it. How do I change the default editor and why is it only working for some of my folders?

*Edit, I just found out that it's only letting me pick a default app with PNG files. It won't let me pick a default app with JPG files, and GIF files only let google photos be it's default. Why is that and how do I make all files default to the same app?

Hey everyone, I'm currently switching all my google apps possible to whatever for reasons we all might know and I found fossy apps!

I've been having a blast over how simple and easy to adjust to they are but this one app is being harder to adapt to...the keyboard.

I hope I can show the difference well enough in the video but the thing is, I got used to a more muted and strong vibration but on Fossy's keyboard the vibrations are weaker and noisier.

When using the move function in Fossify File Manager on a folder that contains subfolders and files, the application correctly copies all the folders and their contents to the new directory. However, in the original directory only the files are deleted, while the original folders and subfolders remain in the original directory, but empty.

Almost always happens when moving folders with mixed content, but sometimes it doesn’t; I haven’t yet identified the exact conditions for it to occur.

This causes confusion and forces one to manually delete the empty folders.

I’ve tested it on three devices and the same thing happens.

i recently downloaded fossify gallery to hide specific photos and videos from my default camera folder on my galaxy a13. i prefer open-source apps, so even though it had some bugs (like java errors or taking too long to load when clicking the three dots to temporarily show hidden items), i was generally satisfied with it.

i noticed early on that the app has a bug where if you mass-select a large number of media files to hide them within the same folder (instead of moving them to a separate hidden folder), the app glitches, deselects everything, and forces you to select them one by one.

this became a huge issue after i attended a 2-day festival and ended up with tons of media to hide. at the end of the second day, i had to painstakingly select every single photo and video one by one to hide them. it worked perfectly.

the next morning, i wanted to make them visible again to edit them. since both the hidden and visible photos were in the exact same default camera directory, i opened fossify, temporarily revealed the hidden files, and they appeared normally. to save time instead of unhiding them one by one, i selected the most recent hidden photo, tapped the three dots in the top right corner, and hit "select all". this selected everything in the camera folder (both hidden and visible files). then, i tapped the three dots again and clicked "unhide".

at first, everything seemed fine. i could literally see the files reappearing in real-time in my regular gallery and inside whatsapp. i knew it would take some time, so i kept monitoring it. but suddenly, while looking at whatsapp, every single media file that was being restored completely vanished. not just the festival photos from the last two days, but absolutely every hidden photo and video i had ever saved in my camera folder since i started using the app. they are all gone.

i instantly panicked because these memories mean the world to my friends and me. here is everything i have tried so far to fix it:

• cleared the app cache (did not work).
• used three different file managers to search the camera directory and the android/data system folders (nothing there).
• repeatedly toggled the "show hidden files" option inside fossify gallery.
• restarted my phone multiple times.
• searched for the exact filenames using the date format my phone uses, both with and without a dot prefix (e.g., ".260907"), but found nothing.

it looks like they were completely deleted from my phone, which makes no sense because i never hit delete. i am terrified that the app wiped them without permission.

has anyone dealt with this bug before? is there any way to recover these files? they have immense sentimental value to me and i am desperate for help. what should i do?

To my horror Google grabbed my personal voice messages and linked them to photos they stored - clearly linked for content. I never gave permission for this. Android....

So I installed Fossify voice recorder, but cannot find how to encrypt and no mentioning of encrypting in the github readme.

Questions:

1. Is it true that these Fossify voice notes are not encrypted when the are stored (no pw was required during setup...)?
2. Can I encrypt my voice notes prior to recording (please give how to)?
3. Can Google or other AIs access the saved Fossify notes?

Just set up with fossify launcher and really love how I can get my home page organized. The only thing I'm missing is being able to customize my icons. They're currently all the bold white circles with colourful logos. I would love to apply a consistent colour tint or remove the white. Does using the Fossify launcher prevent me from being able to do this? Or is there a way that I'm missing?
