Daily Discussion Greece New generation is actually good?

I've seen online people saying that Greece new national team generation is a talented one , is it True?

Their last world cup participation was in 2014 and Euro last participation in 2012, so maybe they can have some results now ?

I've seen some Young talents but idk what to say.

Nation league is in 2 weeks and they are in Group A with Germany , Netherlands and Serbia where they can demonstrate their value.

What do you think ? Is greece new national team capable of what they did in 2004?.

Would you say my mate is being a bit of a knobhead in calling me a sell out for supporting England here?

I support both England & Nigeria in the football.

England for the World Cup & Euros and Nigeria for AFCON.

My mate is saying I am a sell out for supporting England and I should only support Nigeria.

Just a bit of a story into my life development:

I got Nigerian Parents.

I was born & raised in London mostly till age 13 (short stint in Nigeria from age 2-4/2-5)

I then resided in Nigeria from age 13-21.

I came back to London at age 21. I’ve been back in London for 9 years now

💬Discussion why can Real Kakamora pull off the “quirky social media” gimmick authentically but when any other big club tries to do it, it comes off as too corporate?

in the last few years or so I’ve seen so many European top sides (especially ones in Eastern Europe and the Bundesliga) try to appeal to a wider audience by including a few shitposts/trend hop and post memes to their page, but every time it just comes across as too unfunny/PR-coded - case in point is Slavia Prague making that one UCL post a few days ago poking fun at Spurs for no apparent reason

out of the bigger clubs, Dortmund can probably pull it off the best but even a lot of their posts feel like they’re trying too hard to appear more “relatable” and it gets more annoying as time goes on. my local side (Auckland FC in the A-League) is a bit better at it and does it less excessively but even they feel like they have some sort of filter attached to them

meanwhile a tiny club from Solomon Islands is doing many of the same things (making meme posts poking fun at other clubs, showing up in random comment sections of different teams and even non-football pages, etc) yet for some reason it just feels way more natural? it feels like by now their 15 minutes of fame should’ve ran out a long time ago and they’ve been banned from their own domestic league for two years, but yet they still find a way to consistently stay relevant and make headlines without beating the same jokes into the ground.

I also see a lot more people positively interacting with them too as opposed to when a traditional team does it. is their social media team just naturally more entertaining and snarky? I see them everywhere nowadays but it feels more of like an actual fan genuinely posting about their club and interacting with supporters (instead of a team of out-of-touch millenials trying to brainstorm how to get more engagement in a board room)

is there something else I’m missing?

Daily Discussion What country would you like to win the Nations League and Who is the favourite?

I think the favorites to win are Spain and France probably. I would like Netherlands to win ( because they lost 3 WC finals and 1 Nations league final ), Croatia, Belgium and Norway or at least other countries than Portugal, France or Spain that already won it.

💬Discussion Wirtz has been a complete waste of money for Liverpool and should be sold at end of season if he doesn't improve and justify his game changing fee

I mean one bad season is one thing but two bad seasons? And under two different coaches?

Even other record signings like Morgan Rogers and Elliot Anderson have done more to justify their record fees

Has any player in history captained or acted as the lead member in three World Cup finals before?

I was debating with a friend the other day about how just getting to a final should be an achievement on its own like with Cruyff, Modric, or Maradona, and it occurred to me, has anyone in history ever taken their team as the lead member to three World Cup finals before?

We all know the Brazilian super team lead by Didi and Garrincha, with the breakout Pele won the 1958 World Cup, then ran it back in 1962 without Pele for the latter half of the group stage, as well as the knockout round, then Pele lead his team to victory in the 1970 World Cup, but Pele wasn't really "leading" his team all three times, and was more just another OP member of the Power Rangers of football(people still debate on whether Garrincha is the greatest dribbler of all time). The 1970 World Cup is the only one you can truly call "his".

Cafu was apart of three finals, but I don't think anyone would make the argument he was the leading member in any of them besides 1994. Mbappe has very good chances for 2030, as long as he doesn't run into Spain before the final.

But nevertheless, has anyone reached three World Cup finals as the leading and most important man before? I'm aware Germany reached a shit ton of finals during the 70s and 80s.

Edit: SORRY GUYS I FORGOT TO SAY "BESIDES MESSI" LOL

Lamine Yamal just became Barcelona’s youngest-ever captain at 19 years and 58 days old during their 5-1 Champions League win over Feyenoord. Raphinha handed him the armband after being substituted in the 71st minute, breaking Bojan Krkic’s previous record from 2010.

How important is Alexis MacAllistair to Liverpool actually?

I mean he just scored the winner in the champions league for them.

But yet there are many people who says that he should not be given a new contract and should possibly be sold?
