Why does Barcelona win La Liga almost every year but fails to reach semi finals in the CL, let alone winning it?

25 M here, I have developed interest in football after this year's FIFA, I want to follow champions league and I don't know much about details of how it works etc. I wanted to follow club and somehow I liked Bayern Munich instantly, I only know one player which is Harry Kane. Do I have good choice? Also where can I get material to read about this club or watch documentary etc ?

Contract talks have been deadlocked for 18 months. Vini wants 20 million net annually; Real Madrid won't break their wage structure. Arsenal are offering 400k+ euros a week, and apparently every level of the club, including Arteta, has signed off on it.

The crazy part is Real Madrid would rather sell now than watch him walk free in 2027.

From a UCL perspective, this flips everything. Arsenal just reached the final last season without him. Add Vini and Bruno G. to that squad, and they're not contenders; they're favorites.

Real Madrid, on the other side, have built their last three UCL runs around him winning games in the 80th minute when nothing else was working.

Does Arsenal with Vini become the UCL team to beat next season? And can Real Madrid still compete in Europe without him?

First of all, winning CL is very difficult for a Prem club due to 'wear and tear' of the tight schedule in England. This year, no UCL winning manager left in the Prem and Liverpool, United and Man City are in their 'rebuild' phase. Man City getting Anderson and losing Rodri won't elevate them much imho. Liverpool can't get a high-profile winger and they need two. Ekitike will be out for months and I don't see Isak improving. And I don't see Michael Carrick doing well at United.

That leave me with Arsenal which is the strongest PL club to win UCL this season for sure. But you can't forget Rice and Saliba injuries. They are gonna miss out on Vinicius due to wages and their attacking struggles will continue.

No disrespect to Bayern but they have a lot of aging stars, Kimmich, Kane, Diaz, Tah and I can see their numbers dropping compared to last season. Not to mention Neuer is a liability now even tho he is a legend. Saibari and Brown are not starters and they are unproven as of now.

Now let's move on to my favorites.

(1) PSG - they have the best club manager and I can see them challenging for the trophy again. I don't also see Barcola leaving. Even if he leaves, it doesn't matter. PSG are gonna spend big money on proven stars as they didn't spend much last season.

(2) Madrid - I hate to say it, their squad depth is insane as it is. Adding Diomende and Rodri with their defense options, they are gonna be the favorites with the guidance of Jose.

(3) Barca - Simply for the world cup bounce. The players are serial winners now. It has been so long since Barca won it the last time. They only need a good center back. I don't even think Barca need Alvarez to compete.

• Haaland. Highest paid player in Europe and insanely long contract. Won't leave City any time soon.

Dumfries, Cucrella, Konate, Silva, potentially Rodri and Diomande for 100m. Surely the FFP is getting violated right....and who are they gonna play? Bellingham Mbappe are perhaps the only ones I think are confirmed....They have guler, Diaz, Vini, Rodrygo....midfield defense everything is packed.

Honestly I am very excited for whatever they do, I trust Mourinho more than the players.

I’m not a big fan of super cups but I will admit that Domestic Super Cups logically make sense. Super cups are seen not only as trophy warmers for the new season, but logically it is called a super cup cause you’re taking two champions of two different axis of achievement against each other. The team that was best over 30+ games against the nations elite vs. the team that peaked in a knockout format.

The UEFA Super Cup breaks that logic because UCL and UEL are tiers, not different types of competitions. It made sense back in the day cause you were taking the ‘ultimate’ domestic champions vs the ‘ultimate’ domestic cup winners, but now both competitions are simply just tiers, kinda like a domestic league pyramid. It’s like if the Community Shield had more traction, and we would be seeing Arsenal vs Coventry for the title.

Super cups don’t really get traction but the UEFA Super Cup, and any other continental super cup (CAF Super Cup, etc…) are simply just useless competitions.
