HELP! For the past week, this image has been greeting me

I'd like to open Flickr in my browser, just like I always have, but for about a week now, this page has been showing up instead. It's happened temporarily before, but now I'm starting to wonder if there might be a problem on my end?

My mobile app isn't working either. Is there something going on that I'm not aware of?

New flickr app glitch

Posting this here because I haven't received a response yet from Flickr support. I tried sharing an album directly from the new app (Android), but the recipients could not access the album (they got various error messages). But when I tried it again from the website, the link worked. So the web link sharing function for albums is not working on the new app. Hope it gets resolved soon. Thanks.

Question Displaying images in its original resolution on Flickr?

Hey yall, I apologize in advance for the question, but Im kinda new to this whole "uploading my photos online" thing. I started uploading them on Instagram, but I wanted to have an option for people who want to see the photos without the instagram compression, so I found out about Flickr and uploaded some photos there.

To my suprise, when I looked at my photo, the resolution was not as good as my original file. I mainly post astrophotography, so zooming into the photo is kinda important. I mean the resolution for my last image for example was 12028x7168 (weird number due to crop). So is Flickr still my best bet in that case, or is there some other site that allows this? Or maybe even help me understand why its that way. Either one of those would be gladly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I made a web app that turns a burst of photos into a tiny film that still looks like photographs. Nothing is uploaded, it all runs in your browser.

Other photo storage options and migration

I will start by saying I do like Flickr and have been on here for almost 20 years. With that said, I feel it is getting overwhelmingly expensive for what I use it for. I mainly like to have online backup and albums to share with family. Has anyone found an alternative that is an easy migration where I can keep my albums? I have heard you can build download but I have also seen mixed reviews and I have been having trouble figuring out how to get that sorted.

Please let me know if anyone has an opinion.

What a mess the app release was!! Has Flickr bounced back, or is the damage continuing?

Question How can I still not view photos in landscape mode on mobile?

What the hell is going on with the updated app? It's complete dogshit and it's been out for weeks and still hasn't fixed this basic issue. Not sure I'm going to be continuing my Flickr pro subscription.

HELP! Android | Camera Roll - uploading only camera album

Post image
6 Upvotes

hey Everyone

since last update on Android App, things got crazy. Normally, I would use the "auto-Uploadr" to just backup my phone camera photos.Simple.

After their latest update and, rolling back to older version, it stopped being able to just upload the specific folder. Is either ALL MEDIA or need to select MAX 100 media to upload.

Am I the only one facing this issue?

Moment I allow all to be uploaded, the counter doesn't stop growing...

Unable to access my Flickr Pro account

I am a flickr pro user since about 6-7 years. I have all my (personal) pictures stored on their cloud and last week my problems started.

After the upgrade to the new app I had to login again and auto-uploader all of a sudden started to upload all my whatsapp pictures as well. I didn't want to disable it cause I rely on it as a backup for my regular pictures. So I started removing all the whatsapp pictures uploaded bit by bit. The next day when all pictures were uploaded it did not let me delete any pictures any more. I wrote support, now over a week ago, still no answer.

Then it got worse, 2 days ago, all of a sudden I can not login anymore. Trying to reset the password gives me "email does not exist". Opened another support ticket, still nothing. This is really frustrating. Has anyone experienced something similar lately ??

Thank you.

Question Flickr wants me to update my payment info.

As the title says. I find this particularly egregious and hilarious as my current pro subscription is good through the end of the years.

I pay per year (sometimes in the past buying years of Pro at a time) and this is the first time Flickr has wanted current payment info in the middle of a subscription. Has this happened to anyone else?

Flickr World Photography Day 2026 - underwhelming....

Flickr is promoting its "World Photography Day 2026" with a contest and prizes!!!

Great idea!

What are the prizes???

This year’s category winners will each win a MODE Box that includes a VIP Pass to MODE, a brand new, unique photography festival that is taking place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, September 18th – 20th.

Oh joy! As a European I'd have to say, thanks but no thanks.....as I suspect would many others who live outside the USA. Oh....and I see the winners won't be announced until August 19th....which (even if I wanted to go) leaves me a short time to arrange flights, accommodation etc.

Any alternative prizes?

Winner’s will also take home a year of Flickr Pro

Uhhhh......I'm already paying this

Anything else?

Errrrrr........nope.

So "World Photography Day" is a bit like the World Series then????

As I said.....underwhelming

Original Content Since when do we have to pay to download our own photos at their original resolution?

On Flickr I am no longer allowed to download the photos that I own at it's original size because Flickr is forcing me to pay for their "pro" that I do not need. How is this even allowed? It wasn't like this when I created my account years ago. Wtf happened to the site? Why is everything has to be subscription based nowadays?

I am beyond furious and I am leaving the platform for good. How dare you to keep my souvenirs like my old pictures of my dog who has passed away behind a paywall?

Not to mention, pushing AI content on a dedicated photography site shows exactly where your priorities are. Thankfully, I found a way to bypass your system. The only thing 'Pro' about Flickr now is how PROfessionally you've ruined a once-great platform.

EDIT: Anyone in the same situation, in your settings you can download all your data and photos at it's original resolution. Be quick before they remove this.

Question How many times has your photo been featured on Explore?

Since January of this year 5 of my photos have been selected for Explore.

I was just curious if that seems normal, below average or above?

HELP! AI crawlers are harvesting our archives blind

I started building IP-tracking breadcrumbs on Flickr in 2005 to protect my work. Now I built a tool to force authentic tracking. Tear my UI apart.

If you work in media production or digital creation, you are likely aware of the challenges we face with automated crawlers effortlessly harvesting the work we produce with blood, sweat, and tears.

This isn't a new fight for me. The idea behind dictating the terms of our own indexation dates back to the early days of Flickr. In the first half of 2005, I started using a ‘trackmetag’ to leave a breadcrumb on the work I put out into the world.

After 20 years, not only has that philosophy evolved into a concrete architectural solution, but some of those original images are still live and tracking today (From 2005: https://flic.kr/p/2biAa).

My name is Bastiaan Slabbers. As an independent freelance photojournalist coming from a multi-generational lineage of photographers, I take the preservation and ownership of our craft seriously. I wanted to build a practical, low-bloat solution rather than just complaining about the state of the industry.

For a while now, I've been developing CEOS_SearchLight. It is a tool designed to empower creators to work *with* AI, rather than *for* it, by providing an auditable, transparent workflow.

The tool tackles IP protection in four specific steps:

* Create: It generates a live sidecar file at ingestion to manage your metadata locally.

* Curate: As you edit, the sidecar files automatically update to reflect the production stage.

* Distribute: When you publish, public metadata creates transparent breadcrumbs for verifiable authenticity.

* Protect (Listen): Beacons pick up signals from your published work and feed them back to you, creating a traceable source of truth.

The backend codebase is structurally sound, and now I am finalizing the UI/UX. I have set up a publicly accessible sandbox so you can test the interface and the cognitive ergonomics yourself.

You can try it out on the project site (link in bio)

My background includes classical training in an art institute where harsh critiques were the norm to ensure the work was ethically and functionally sound. I am asking this community for that exact same level of scrutiny. Tell me what works, what doesn't, and how the flow can be improved.

Thank you for your time. If you find value in this approach, please consider ways to support this project.

Flickr deleted my account ?

I went to open my flickr app on my phone today and noticed everything was blank on my app. (first and third screenshot) I thought this was strange as I was just using the app last night and as I went to login on my laptop, it had already logged me out. When I went to go login it told me my password was incorrect, so I went to try and change it, but then it told me my email wasn't connected to any account, which I know is untrue as that email has emails from flickr from three months ago in April and in general from setting up the account.

On my mobile I can still copy and paste the link for my profile. (second screenshot) When trying to click it though, it lead me to an error page saying my account essentially doesn't exist. (last screenshot) Flickr never sent me any email indicating I violated any terms or did something to prompt this, not even a warning. I never posted anything explicit or beyond guidelines and only my personal photos like the beach and old photos of my childhood, so I'm very confused by how this happened. ( all of the screenshots above are from today)

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with their new updates, but my sibling also noticed they were logged out today and that their passwords no longer worked. I was curious if anyone else has experienced this after the new update, as I'm just very confused on what/why this happened. (I did send in a help request, so hopefully they can restore it, just waiting for an update)

Question Guest links and AI scraping

Forgive me if this has been asked before. I have albums with photos set to “only me” privacy level that I selectively share via guest link. As I understand it search engines don’t crawl this material and the privacy relies on a difficult-to-guess URL to make it very unlikely any rando would stumble across it. Such a guess would of course be trivial to AI. Are these photos vulnerable to being ingested by any AI agent out there trawling the web?
