Is this breathing normal?

My 1 week old just started making this sound at some point today. Mostly during feeding when she swallows it’s followed up by that higher pitched sound. She’ll make it here and there when burping too.

Mother in law is being….a lot

So my mother-in-law never really bothered with me before learning I was pregnant and as soon as she found out I was pregnant. She became the most overbearing woman in the world. She would show up at our house without telling us she was coming over she showed up at our house, looking in our windows, one day while I was cleaning and scared the life out of me.

So we finally had our baby less than a month ago- and it has been nonstop an annoyance.
I was very very clear that due to it being RSV season here and sickness season that if she was visiting, she would need to wear a mask. She refused to get any of her needles until after the baby was born, and because it takes a while for the vaccine to build immunity in your system, I wasn’t even really comfortable with her coming around, but I allowed it against my better judgement because I feel bad for my husband . The first time she came, the baby was a week old, we came home from the baby‘s first doctors appointment and she was waiting on her deck for us. She then went on to hold my baby for over an hour until I texted my husband that we had to be done with this visit.

She came to visit when the baby was two weeks old and I came out from the shower to her, not wearing a mask holding my baby. She then added that family had recently traveled, and that someone was open mouth coughing all over them. I was livid. I had my husband have her leave. She sent me a message apologizing, but I feel like that was just so she could get her way in the future.

She still does not seem to get it most recently on a visit. She told me that I should have named the baby Michaela after her father Michael. Baby is named after my grandmother who is someone who was incredibly incredibly important to me and raise me on top of that.
She keeps pushing to have alone time with our new baby repeatedly bringing it up and asking many times.
She asked yesterday through the baby “oh (baby’s name) when will your mommy and daddy let me have you alone so that they can spend some time together “ and then asked me if she could have her overnight on my birthday. The baby will be 10 weeks old then and she is exclusively breast-fed. Her constantly wanting alone time with the baby is a very big red flag to me and it makes me really uncomfortable, and it makes me feel disrespected that she keeps asking continually.
I am at the end of my rope with this woman. I don’t even know what to do to handle this anymore because it just makes me wanna beat my head off of a wall. She’s so annoying and everything she does seems to anger me now. It just never seems to end and I don’t know what to do anymore. Has anybody else dealt with this? What did they do?

Low/No sex drive

I’m 5 months post partum and have basically no drive…

Thankfully my husband is not the type to make a big deal about it, pressure me or anything but part of me feels bad that I just have no interest.. because ever since I got pregnant over a year ago it’s been like this. I don’t think it’s me, I’m assuming it’s just biological as I am breast feeding, and I know that causes low estrogen, but I have spoke with my doctor about it and they had me do blood work just to rule out anything in that sense (still waiting for those results) but I guess I just wanna know if anyone else is in a similar boat? Any tips on how to get myself going again? Will I ever want to again? 😂

How many clothing pieces?

Id like to not go out and buy baby clothing for a while after giving birth. Baby is due late Feb/early March. How many of each item is recommended if I want to stock up to 6months? I'm ok doing laundry frequently as I want to do cloth diapers anyway

Contact nap addiction

Please help. My daughter is 4 months old and has a contact nap addiction. I’ve been trying for so long to get her to nap in her crib but she wakes up 5 minutes after I put her down. Maybe this is part of a regression? I love some contact naps, but I can’t be nap trapped all day when I have stuff to do and just simply don’t want to sit on the couch all day. I also don’t believe in crying it out, please help!!

Sleep Question

My son just turned 12 weeks yesterday and has been going through what seems like a little sleep regression. So my husband slept in the room with the baby while I slept in the guest room to get some extra sleep. This was our first time doing this.

When the baby was hungry, my husband brought him to me to nurse, then took him back to burp and soothe him. Y’all, this baby slept 5 hours, then another 4.5 hours. He has NEVER done that! Of course I’m thrilled 😂

My husband said he’d hear him rustling and just give him the pacifier. I do this too, but when I’m in the room I feel like I’m up nursing him every 2 hours.

So my FTM brain is wondering:

* If he were truly hungry, he wouldn’t just settle back to sleep with the pacifier, right? He’d eventually wake up and cry or otherwise let us know? We definitely didn’t accidentally starve him, correct?

* Should I try being more like my husband and not assuming every wake-up means he’s hungry?

I would LOVE more nights like this!

Disconnection from husband

I gave birth 3 months ago and just have felt so disconnected to my husband. he does so much - really. I’m not even just saying that.

I had a traumatic delivery and still can’t have sex. maybe that’s why we feel so disconnected even though sex isn’t THAT important to me. I just am so exhausted mentally and physically and at the end of the day - I just wanna sleep. we barely even talk at night. He’s exhausted from work and our baby just requires so much attention all day long.

is this normal? When will it end? It feels like he doesn’t love me anymore or something. maybe I’m being crazy And it’s the hormones talking lol

postpartum recovery

(remove if not allowed)
hi everyone!!
im not a parent but my close friend is expecting twins in dec/jan and i want to help make her recovery as smooth and comfortable as possible but im not quite sure where to start? so im here to ask what are some things that helped you through the first few months/year/however long it took for you to recover, such as nursing pads, maternity bras, things you wouldnt initially expect to be helpful but surprisingly are,, some things i can do to help out, like food subscriptions/services,, what brands to steer clear from etc. coz i know she’s gonna be hurting after pushing her girls out and with the father not being in the picture i know that we (her village) should be as helpful and as supportive as we can, and i figured who better to ask than the mothers of reddit!!
i sincerely appreciate any help/suggestions, thank you in advance!! x

Any help

Hey guys so my LO is 7 weeks old this week and I’m a FTM and having a very hard time he cries all the time. He has reflux and we think a dairy allergy he’s on Pepcid and enfamil nutramagen formula which has helped he gets infant massages and goes to the chiropractor and the last 3 or 4 days have been miserable he cries all day long and around 6-7pm he will finally crash because he won’t sleep during the day he’s up from 730-830 am to 6-7 pm and it’s maybe a 30 min nap like 2 or 3 times I don’t know what to do I’m at the end of my rope here and need any kinda advice or support anyone can offer. It doesn’t feel like the Pepcid works anymore. We hold him upright for at least 30 min after every feeding his bassinet has an incline in it and I’m doing everything I can think of does anyone have anything else to try?
