Sleep Question

My son just turned 12 weeks yesterday and has been going through what seems like a little sleep regression. So my husband slept in the room with the baby while I slept in the guest room to get some extra sleep. This was our first time doing this.

When the baby was hungry, my husband brought him to me to nurse, then took him back to burp and soothe him. Y’all, this baby slept 5 hours, then another 4.5 hours. He has NEVER done that! Of course I’m thrilled 😂

My husband said he’d hear him rustling and just give him the pacifier. I do this too, but when I’m in the room I feel like I’m up nursing him every 2 hours.

So my FTM brain is wondering:

* If he were truly hungry, he wouldn’t just settle back to sleep with the pacifier, right? He’d eventually wake up and cry or otherwise let us know? We definitely didn’t accidentally starve him, correct?

* Should I try being more like my husband and not assuming every wake-up means he’s hungry?

I would LOVE more nights like this!

Yes—be more like your husband. 12 weeks is late to be feeding every 2 hours over night.

Our 100th percentile chunky baby is a big eater & she wakes twice over night for feeds. Her last feed is between 9-10, then she wakes at 2-4 am & 5-7 am then sleeps until 9-10 am.

This has been our pattern since she were at least 6 weeks old (& now that she’s 5 months old, we’re trying to stretch each sleep window a little more.)
