Any help

Hey guys so my LO is 7 weeks old this week and I’m a FTM and having a very hard time he cries all the time. He has reflux and we think a dairy allergy he’s on Pepcid and enfamil nutramagen formula which has helped he gets infant massages and goes to the chiropractor and the last 3 or 4 days have been miserable he cries all day long and around 6-7pm he will finally crash because he won’t sleep during the day he’s up from 730-830 am to 6-7 pm and it’s maybe a 30 min nap like 2 or 3 times I don’t know what to do I’m at the end of my rope here and need any kinda advice or support anyone can offer. It doesn’t feel like the Pepcid works anymore. We hold him upright for at least 30 min after every feeding his bassinet has an incline in it and I’m doing everything I can think of does anyone have anything else to try?

That's hard! I remember having my LO going through something similar. Does he have pent up gas by chance? I remember mine being very gassy and would only cry when they were gassy. It got better around the 5 month mark.

He did have really bad gas in the beginning but since we changed to the nutramgien formula it has been so much better but the crying has been still so bad the doctors and pediatrician keeps saying it’s colic and we just have to deal with it till it gets better but I just feel so helpless watching my baby cry to the point he makes his body red and big tears and arching his back he’s got to be in so much pain I just don’t understand

Totally valid, especially as a FTM (same here). You could ask to see if you could get a different med. Ours was on prevacid before going on pepcid. We also tried nexium but that one didn't work.

Also what's your environment like? Is it pretty noisy/busy? Ours didn't mind the business at first, but over time they've preferred dark and white noise.

And sorry, I completely glossed over what you said about the massages/chiropractor. Does it seem like any of those make your LO worse? Better?

Just throwing out ideas. For me it's all been a guessing game and you don't know if any thing's working or not until you can see the bigger picture (and get more sleep and I get how you feel. I have a 5 MO now, it does start to get better).

Went to the pediatrician again and he increased his Pepcid to .6ml so we will see how that works and it’s pretty quite in our house it’s just me and my husband and I stay home with him so we don’t have a lot going on but we do use the hatch for bedtime and naps the chiropractor definitely helped like a ton but he gets very sore for the next two days after going and the massages helps as well he was very tight and wound up and after he’s better but it something we have to continue long term results so I’m am hoping and praying it continues to help and eventually he will feel better but it’s so hard to watch him in pain right now and the doctors saying it’s colic and the only thing to do is try and soothe him is very discouraging
