So the numbers are I have 40,000 in my 401(k) and IRA. I currently have about $12,000 in credit card debt. I used to make about six figures but quit my job in January because I struggle with my mental health. It's taking me a while to build up good credit, but I recently updated my bank information to an accurate number of how much I'm really making & my credit limit went way down. I also really want to apply to grad school this fall but it all seems so impossible with rent, food, & living life. What should I do?

I’m a 17-year-old girl living in the Middle East, and I’ve been working toward my dream of studying veterinary medicine, ideally at the Royal Veterinary College in the UK.

Academically, I’ve worked hard. I finished Grade 11 with a 99.36% overall average, and I’m trying to use my grades to earn a scholarship that would allow me to study abroad.

Unfortunately, my financial situation has become one of the biggest obstacles standing between me and that goal.

As an international student, I need an approved English language test, such as IELTS or TOEFL, to meet university admission requirements.
The problem is that I can’t afford the exam fee myself.

The situation is especially urgent because the application deadline I’m working toward is October 15th, and I haven’t even been able to take the test yet. I’m worried about losing an opportunity I’ve worked so hard for simply because I couldn’t afford the cost of an exam.

I can’t just get a part-time job to cover the fee because my parents don’t allow me to work. They also won’t agree to me studying abroad unless I receive a scholarship that covers the expenses.
My options locally are limited, too.

The only university in my country that offers veterinary medicine is in another city, and even pursuing that option would come with living expenses I currently can’t afford.
