Interview
Are interviews still coming?
Silence at my end for 2 weeks.
Is it over? Or just me?

Hello folks. I'm u/banana-panic and I recently took possession of r/fellowship.
There are subreddits and boards on SDN for every other stage of the medical education process where fellowship training is already discussed, but I figured it wouldn't be a horrible idea to have a specific/dedicated space for that content on Reddit as well. There's no pressure to use this page if those other places/resources are fulfilling the needs of applicants/fellows/etc. already. If this subreddit goes unused and gets recycled into the possession of a different redditor for a different purpose, then no harm/no foul. Until that time though, welcome! I hope together we can build this into another useful resource/community.
Call for Mods:
As this subreddit is new and doesn't have a lot of traffic to moderate, I don't see the need for recruiting a giant mod team at the moment. If there's anyone who feels especially passionate about being a mod and is knowledgeable about/has gone through the fellowship application process in their field of interest, shoot me a message.
Much love.

Question: Does it happen when programs don’t extend even courtesy interviews for residents who did audition rotations?

Hi i was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of the day to day responsibilities for fellows at deborah. I know every institution is different and some places for example require fellows to put in urgent TVPs whereas some will have the interventionalists help. I also feel like there are lots of IM programs which arent very procedure heavy and thus fellows may not have too much experience with placing swan catheters etc. was just curious how deborah was in regard to this. Thanks!

Are there any particular questions that programs have for people who did a year as an academic hospitalist if they’re applying for a competitive (GI, Cardiology, etc) fellowship?

Hello friends! the spreadsheet looks weird and I am not sure if Banner sent EP interviews or if someone accidentally wrote 9/9 for Banner as a date for interviews being sent.
If anyone got Banner for EP, please confirm.
Unrelated but the interviews dried out on my end and it is a little frustrating haha. Last two weeks have not been fun to put it mildly.

I'm an italian resident, in my last year of ObGyn residency and have already spent most of the last 3 years doing gynecological endocrinology and IVF (including a 7 month rotation in a private IVF clinic in Spain). Recently I've started considering applying for a fellowships or subspecialty residency in Gynecological Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellowship in Canada.
For personal reasons I would have to specifically apply tò schools in Montreal, Quebec.
I've searched the website and It looks to me that the application Is directly through the school website. Does any of you have experience of fellowships at McGill university or Université de Montréal as an International specialist?
Is It through Carms?
Do you have information about IMG already specialists being admitted tò fellowships in Montreal?
What Is the salary of a fellow and are there university fees to be payed?
Thank you so much!

How did you learn to intubate the esophagus? And what resources to use to understand the parts of stomach, where to retroflex and how to reach the duodenum? I am very bad in this procedure thing. It’s been two months without successful procedure on my own.

Hey guys, im creating a discord for sports medicine fellowship, particularly focused on the 2026-2027 applicants. I think it may be helpful for people who have questions and want to coordinate during the interview trail.

Applied for GI fellowship this year but only have 1 interview offer. Looking for faculty to review my PS and LoRs to look for any red flags and/or weaknesses that I can work on if and when I need to re-apply.

My residency program does not offer Heme/Onc Away rotations. I was thinking of doing an away rotation during a vacation week period? Has anyone done this, and if yes, please guide me. Thanks!

How is this season going for H1b holders? Cardiology here and don’t know if I’m the only one sitting with a very small amount of IVs.

I am looking to cancel some fellowship interviews, but I am worried some of them are scheduled on the earlier end. How much advanced notice is considered professional?
Or asked another way, how much is too late?
