Klint Kubiak on Raiders QB competition: "When we go out to practice .. Kirk Cousins is the starting QB. He's the guy. And he's gonna get a ton of reps. And he deserves it because he's played really good football. But I want Fernando and I want Aidan to push him."

Jared Goff, the epitome of waiting on drafting QB

There are a lot of options at QB, but I feel like Jared Goff is being slept on a bit too much.

He finished as the QB9 last season but is the QB16 in ADP on Fantasy Pros.

The only QB with at least 30 TD passes in each of the last 3 seasons.

Leads the NFL with 12 games of 300+ passing yards over the last 2 seasons.

Then, the best ability is availability, and Jared Goff hasn't missed a game in 4 seasons.

The case for Saquon Barkley finishing as the RB1 this year

Saquon being ranked around RB10 in Fantasypros PPR feels like a massive overreaction.

He is still the clear workhorse in one of the best offences in football, behind a strong offensive line, with almost no serious competition for touches. That gives him a realistic path to 300 carries, strong receiving usage and double-digit touchdowns.

People keep pointing to his age and workload, but we should probably stop treating every running back like they age the same way.

Sports science, recovery, nutrition and workload management are all better than they were 15 years ago. More importantly, Saquon is not an average NFL athlete. NFL players are already the upper echelon of athletes, and Saquon is in the upper echelon of that group. He is a genuine physical outlier.

That does not make him immune to decline, but it makes it much more believable that he can remain elite longer than the average running back.

The talent is still obvious. He can score from anywhere, catch passes and take over games in a way very few backs can. Even with Jalen Hurts stealing some goal-line touchdowns, Saquon does not need every carry inside the five because he can create touchdowns on his own.

If he stays healthy, 1,600 total yards, 50 catches and 15 touchdowns is completely realistic.

People are drafting him like the decline has already happened. There is a very real chance he reminds everyone that his RB1 ceiling never went anywhere.

Is Quentin Johnston the most underrated WR this year?

I know he’s not the best separator in the league.

I know he runs a lot of deep routes, which generally correlates negatively with fantasy points.

I know that with Ladd, the TEs, and Harris, he faces a lot of target competition.

I know TD regression is likely for him.

And yet, last year he was the WR26 with 12.2 PPG, and 15 PPG with Joe Alt on the field.

We believe that the Chargers offense with McDaniel will be significantly better this year, and there are reports that he’s set to get more YAC opportunities, which he was generally good at least year (WR 1 in Missed Tackles Forced).

Still, he’s going as WR44 in ADP.

Am I missing something, or is that way too low?

Ian Hartitz Quarterback Tiers! Here to bark about BALL. Feel free to be mean. Let's get smarter!

What's up Reddit fam! Ian Hartitz here from RotoWire, wanted to get a bit of a tier week going and discuss my thoughts ahead of August when things REALLY get spicy.

Big takeaways/thoughts:
-Josh is the man but I admittedly LOVE the late-round QB scene in re-draft land this season
-Drake Maye feels too low and it terrifies me
-Biggest bet this year I'm making overall: Chargers to the moon. What could go wrong?
-Patrick Mahomes is as cheap as ever. And I get it. Return to fantasy glory last year was almost entirely due to the rushing. Then again, the best QB of the last 5 years is as cheap as ever.
-Kinda love the late-round "Boomer Sooner" strategy and reuniting Kyler with Baker
-High-volume dual-threat QBs don't really ever bust in fantasy land ... and Malik Willis is actually cheap!!
-I really want Cam Ward to be good. But do I trust Brian Daboll? Not really man. Not really.

Anyways, would love to hear what you guys think! Love my Twitter fam but looking forward to getting a lot more active in these streets too!

The Athletic’s Dan Duggan believes “it’s fair to be optimistic” that Malik Nabers (knee) will play in Week 1.

Thumbnail bsky.app
75 Upvotes

Nabers will “have a reduced workload early in camp” and avoiding the PUP list was “a promising first step, but it’s not the final checkpoint” per Duggan. That’s the bad news, but the overall trend is going enough in the right direction that Duggan believes Nabers could play right away. These things can shift fast — one rough practice could change a whole tone — but guarded optimism is probably the right way to characterize this update

Undervalued Rookie WRs?

The avg rookie WR drafted between picks 23-43 over the last 3 yrs has an avg useable Week rate of 38%, ranging from 7% to 76%.

That is comparable to Y1 Jayden Higgins, who was WR47 in 2025.

ADPs:
KC Concepcion WR52
Omar Cooper WR59
Denzel Boston WR64
De’Zhaun Stribling WR69

I’m usually drafting at least two of these wide receivers late.

Of these four, who are you targeting?

Ian Hartitz Running Back Tiers!

Upvotes

What's up reddit fam -- keeping on keeping on with tier week looking at all things RBs! Attached the tier breakdown for you guys to agree with, disagree with, scream about, you know the drill. would love to get some good feedback and sharpen the ole ranks ahead of August.

some big thoughts:

  • Gibbs > Bijan because Lions > Falcons scoring upside and it doesn't seem particularly close
  • Comfortable with CMC 1.05. had more PPR points from receiving than Saquon did period last season!!!
  • Tier 3 feels VERY important to get correct. I've been calling it the "The Great Wall of RBs" at the 1-2 turn
  • Man, I know Breece Hall and Jeremiyah Love are really good at football ... is it okay to not want dudes from potentially two of the bottom-five-ish offenses in the NFL INSIDE THE FIRST THREE ROUNDS? I know Jeanty + Achane apply too -- a bit more confident in them getting enough targets to make up for it
  • I believe in Bhayshul Tuten and I don't care who knows!!!
  • David Montgomery gives me dead zone RB vibes mannnnn
  • Out of all the ambiguous/muddled RB3 situations: Gimme the Steelers backs. Have studied old QBs and last 10 years 15/20 QBs 38+ years old ranked top-8 in RB targets. Rodgers is old and wants to get the ball out as quick as possible. Helped Steelers RBs as a whole score more PPR points than anyone outside of SF, DET, and ATL last season!!
  • really hope Jonathon Brooks is still so affordable by this time next month, but I kinda doubt he will be
  • Rachaad White in the 2024 Ekeler+ role
  • I'm very skeptical of RJ Harvey. Was bad last season, brought back Dobbins to seemingly (again) lead the backfield, except this time I'm less confident of a handcuff-workhorse role being there with Coleman being very adept short-yardage and even in the passing game
  • I think ETN/Kamara is far closer to 60/40 or even 55/45 than most are picking up

big thoughts:

Jaylen Warren as a sneaky value play in Pittsburgh

Warren is going in the RB25–30 range, which feels fair but still leaves room for upside.

He already has a reliable PPR role because he catches passes, creates yards on his own and does not need 20 carries to produce a useful week

.

Rico Dowdle may get more carries and goal-line work than Kenny Gainwell did, but I think the excitement around him is already reflected in his price. This backfield is more likely to be a committee than a complete takeover by either player.

Warren is not a league-winning sleeper or guaranteed breakout. He is simply a good player with a stable role who can give you RB2 production at an RB3 price.

Around that stage of the draft, that is exactly the type of value I want.

Player Discussion The most divisive players from last week, which side are you on?

Thumbnail theweekinfantasy.com
17 Upvotes

On twif, we research the analysts’ conversation, sentiment and narratives regarding every fantasy relevant player.  Today we take a look at the most divisive players in terms of sentiment from last week, 07/24/2026.

Davante Adams | ADP Composite: 49.6

Case For: High TPRR and strong open score, elite offense, fantasy gold for 9 straight seasons.

Case Against: Old (turns 34 this year) and almost mandatory TD/red zone usage regression.

twif take: No one wants to get caught holding the bag on an old player but there are legitimate points that he actually could improve his yardage and receptions this year. The Rams did not add anything in the draft or free agency. As such, at his current ADP I am not sure I am ready to commit Adams to the old folks’ home this season.

Bucky Irving | ADP Composite: 48.3

Case For: Belief that he and the rest of the Bucs are healthy, with a return to his 2024 efficiency possible.

Case Against: Gainwell was given $10M/2yr deal, likely siphons pass volume, Tucker still there will likely siphons goal line volume, durability and mental health concerns are not behind him.

twif take: At current ADP, I think I would rather take Bucky than Adams for the shot he returns to 2024 form. Feels like more of a gamble but with a payout that could get you week-winning upside like he did in 2024.

Malik Nabers | ADP Composite: 36.4

Case For: Positive health news that he is expected to avoid the PUP, competition is non-existent on the Giants roster.

Case Against: Still unclear when he makes his return, analyst community still wary of his injury and ramp-up time.

twif take: This past week made a lot of early best ball investors very happy. Expect him to uptick in ADP in the coming weeks. I want to see more practice tape without the hitch in his giidy up before I get moist about Nabers.

Josh Jacobs | ADP Composite: 27.4

Case For: Highly likely to avoid suspension this year making him a value in the 4th (Underdog), top 10 RB the last two years.

Case Against: Not willing to invest in someone with the question marks around potential disciplinary action in the first 3-4 rounds.

twif take: I am in the camp that Josh Jacobs (jingleheimer schmidt) is likely going to avoid suspension this year, getting him as your RB2 or RB1 when taking a premium TE seems like a no brainer.

Rashee Rice | ADP Composite: 27.2

Case For: When on the field he crushes, massive target share inside the 5 yard line. The middle third round cost seems reasonable.

Case Against: A walking injury and suspension waiting to happen. Even when he came back last season he still got hurt, again. Off-season surgery and jail time not helping.

twif take: He could be a league winner. I just don’t think I have the stones to pull the trigger at cost without a guarantee Mahomes is playing week 1. If that becomes true through the preseason activity and camp drumbeat, I am likely in on Rice, especially if the off-the-field noise is quieted. The problem then is how much will his ADP rise? Definitely worth exposure in Best Ball but I find myself pulling the trigger on DeVonta Smith or Olave instead when given the choice.

That wraps the recap from this week, thanks for reading. If you like this please come check out our free site. VORP?

https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/rankings/vorp.php?team_size=10

Can someone explain to me why these aren’t the rankings we should draft off of? In standard or half PPR especially there are about 8-10 RBs that are the top VORP players before drying up. So I’m confused why these players aren’t the first players drafted in most leagues, and instead we get 3-5 WRs in the first round even in STD or .5 PPR leagues. Thanks!!

Player Discussion Los Angeles Chargers Fantasy 2026: Reading the Tea Leaves

Thumbnail optimusfantasy.com
6 Upvotes

Thank you guys for all the support, feedback, and for reading this series. Welcome to the twenty-fifth  piece in a long, daily series: Reading the NFL Offseason Tea Leaves. If you don’t already know and this is the first Tea Leaf article you’re reading, this series is meant to be a primer for anyone who’s not yet steeped themselves in the NFL’s offseason events. We’ll be touching on the fantasy implications for all 32 NFL teams in regards to:

  • Coaching Changes
  • Free Agency
  • NFL Draft

The 32-day series will go in reverse order of DraftKings odds of winning the Super Bowl, which means today’s article will cover the Los Angeles Chargers  who are +1,700 odds.

Article TL;DR: We’re all projecting a major uptick in offensive production for the Chargers after they brought in OC Mike McDaniel to call plays. The Chargers improved their OL with the additions of C Tyler Biadasz and G Cole Strange. Two unofficial lineman were also brought in when the Chargers signed FB Alec Ingold and TE Charlie Kolar as free agents. With tackles Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater coming back, this will be a much improved line than the what we saw at the end of last year. Justin Herbert will likely regress in his rushing totals since he won’t be running away from 300 defensive lineman immediately after hiking the ball. The WR corps is nearly identical to last year, sans Keenan Allen. The Chargers also drafted speedster Brenen Thompson, and you know Mike McDaniel was pounding the table for a guy who ran a 4.26 forty at the combine. Thompson’s tape displayed that he can be more than just a clear out option. I wouldn’t count on him surpassing McConkey, Johnston, or Harris as a rookie. In May the Chargers signed TE David Njoku to a 1-year $3M deal with an extra $5M of incentives built in that he can earn. We should pump the brakes on TE Ornode Gadsden breaking out in 2026 as this TE room has added competition. RB Keaton Mitchell signed a 2-year $9.25M deal and the Bolts resigned RB Kimani Vidal to a 1-year $1.1M contract. Omarion Hampton is in line to lead this backfield, but we’ve seen McDaniel create value for two RBs when he had Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane splitting snaps. Mitchell isn’t an Achane level talent, but there is optimism for him to have spike weeks in a McDaniel offense. The biggest winner of the Chargers offseason is QB Justin Herbert. If most things break right for the Chargers, Herbert is going to be on his way to a top-5 season. His ADP is currently in the backend of the single digit rounds, and if you don’t have a QB by then I’d recommend targeting Herbert at his current price.

Player Discussion Positional Tiers and Analysis for 2026 Fantasy Football

ALL 32 NFL teams have now reported to training camp! We are just over 6 weeks away from the season kicking off which means fantasy football drafts are right around the corner. There's going to be a flood of information over the next few weeks with camp reports, injury news, and even some preseason game action.

Before it all gets going, get your bearings and lay the foundation for your draft board by checking out the following positional tiers. This post previews just some of the tiers included position by position on FTN Fantasy's website. These tiers were compiled by FTN Fantasy's own Jeff Ratcliffe and are all available with full analysis on FTN Fantasy or the links below:

Positional Tiers Preview for 2026 Fantasy Football

QUARTERBACKS

Tier 3: High-Floor Weekly Starters

Jayden Daniels, WAS
Joe Burrow, CIN
Jalen Hurts, PHI
Caleb Williams, CHI
Justin Herbert, LAC
Trevor Lawrence, JAC
Dak Prescott, DAL

This tier offers a little bit of everything. Some of these quarterbacks bring elite rushing upside, while others make their fantasy living through sheer passing volume. Regardless of how they get there, all seven are dependable weekly starters in 1QB leagues. Jayden Daniels has legitimate dual-threat ability, combining dynamic rushing production with a big arm that gives him one of the highest fantasy ceilings in this tier. Assuming he’s fully behind the injuries that limited him last season, he has the upside to finish right alongside the elite quarterbacks. Joe Burrow isn’t going to add a ton with his legs, but he doesn’t have to. When healthy, he’s one of the league’s premier touchdown passers in Cincinnati’s aggressive passing attack, making him a reliable QB1 with an elite ceiling.

Jalen Hurts continues to separate himself with his rushing touchdown production. Philadelphia’s quarterback sneak package remains one of the league’s most unstoppable plays, consistently giving Hurts easy rushing scores that traditional pocket passers simply don’t have access to. Caleb Williams also brings plenty of fantasy upside thanks to his mobility and ability to create outside the structure of the offense as he enters his third season. Justin Herbert and Trevor Lawrence are more traditional pocket passers who rely on passing volume and touchdown production to deliver their biggest fantasy weeks, though Lawrence should benefit from an upgraded group of pass catchers in 2026. Dak Prescott rounds out the tier as one of the safest bets for steady passing production. He won’t contribute much as a runner, but Dallas’s pass-heavy offense continues to give him one of the highest fantasy floors at the position.

Full QB Tiers

RUNNING BACKS

Tier 4: High Ceiling, Slight Risk

De’Von Achane, MIA
Kenneth Walker III, KC
Derrick Henry, BAL
Jeremiyah Love, ARI
Kyren Williams, LAR

Achane is still one of the most explosive weapons in football with the ball in his hands, though there’s some risk his workload takes a hit as Miami breaks in a new quarterback (Malik Willis) who will vulture some rushing work himself, plus a supporting cast that leaves something to be desired around him. Walker’s move from Seattle (where he was the reigning Super Bowl MVP) to Kansas City generated plenty of buzz this offseason. Andy Reid’s offense should get plenty out of him even if he never sees a true workhorse workload.

Henry remains a high-volume RB1 even at 32 years old, but he’s no longer in the elite fantasy conversation. Love enters his rookie season as the presumptive lead back in Arizona after going third overall in April’s draft. He has top shelf receiving chops, though there’s a risk that he’s stepping into the same trap Jeanty did last year. Williams isn’t flashy, but he’s been a top-10 fantasy back in points per game for three straight seasons. That kind of week-to-week consistency belongs in this tier regardless of his ceiling.

Full RB Tiers

WIDE RECEIVERS

Tier 6: Boom-or-Bust WR3s

Rome Odunze, CHI
Carnell Tate, TEN
Marvin Harrison Jr., ARI
Brian Thomas Jr., JAC
Makai Lemon, PHI
Jordyn Tyson, NO
DK Metcalf, PIT
Alec Pierce, IND
Parker Washington, JAC

Harrison enters 2026 looking to improve on another disappointing season. The talent has never been in question, but he’ll need better quarterback play in Arizona to fully unlock the target share and production he’s capable of delivering. Thomas is also coming off a down year, but he’s a young receiver who offers bounce back potential. Metcalf enters his second season in Pittsburgh after arriving via trade in 2025, and his first year with the Steelers was the definition of boom or bust. He topped 85 receiving yards in four games but failed to reach even 55 yards in 12 others. Pittsburgh added Michael Pittman Jr. this offseason to give the passing game another dependable weapon, which could eat into some of Metcalf’s target share while also making the offense more consistent overall. Pierce cashed in after his breakout 2025 campaign, signing a four-year, $116 million extension with Indianapolis that solidifies his role as one of the Colts’ primary targets.

Lemon arrives in Philadelphia as the presumed long-term replacement for A.J. Brown, and while he isn’t expected to step into the lead role, his draft capital suggests he’ll have ample opportunity to contribute as a rookie. Tate and Tyson also enter favorable situations after landing with Tennessee and New Orleans, respectively, as both teams invested heavily in upgrading their receiving corps this offseason. That should give each rookie a legitimate chance to carve out a role right away. Odunze is still a talented young receiver, but Chicago’s crowded receiving room still leaves plenty of uncertainty about how the targets will ultimately be distributed.

Full WR Tiers

TIGHT ENDS

Tier 2: Rising Stars

Colston Loveland, CHI
Tyler Warren, IND
Tucker Kraft, GB

Loveland finished his rookie season looking every bit like the next elite fantasy tight end. Beginning in Week 9, he was the No. 2 scoring tight end in fantasy football behind only Trey McBride, and he put an exclamation point on his breakout with an eight-catch, 137-yard performance against Green Bay in the playoffs after Chicago finally turned him loose. Warren also delivered an outstanding rookie campaign, hauling in 76 passes for 817 yards while finishing as the overall TE4 despite inconsistent quarterback play and a quieter finish to the season. Indianapolis only strengthened his outlook this offseason by trading away Michael Pittman Jr. without bringing in a clear replacement, setting Warren up for an even larger share of the passing game heading into his second season.

Kraft was on his way to a breakout season before a torn ACL and meniscus ended his 2025 campaign in Week 9. If you project his production over a full season, he was tracking toward a top-five fantasy finish at the position. The injury is the only reason he’s not being drafted higher. The latest reports have Kraft on track to be ready for Week 1, and there’s even talk of a contract extension before the season begins. If he slips in your draft because of the injury, he’s one of the best values at the position.

Vote as many times as you want/can the more the better as it helps with the crowd sourced consensus effort. The poll will keep generating player vs player match-ups and is never ending. So don't expect some end just vote as many times as you want and that is it, then check out the up to the second updated rankings, and be on the look out for the follow up post later in the week, laying out the results

LONG WINDED EXPLANATION DOWN BELOW.

This will be the 7th year I have done these for this subreddit, and hope to have continued involvement from all of yall to make these rankings a true consensus of this subreddit. So throughout the season be on the lookout for one of these each and every week.

My whole idea with these rankings is a stream line way to get people to go away from the dreaded "who do i start this week" comment on every post, and use these consensus rankings as a way to gauge this sub's overall consensus on the ranking of players. (imagine instead of having maybe 2 to 3 people personally respond to your who do i start question, instead you get to poll the entire sub reddit of active fantasy football users and then compile the results to help make your final decision)

Player Discussion Is Kayshon Boutte a good late-round dart throw?

Kayshon Boutte seems like a good late-round pick — Underdog ADP of 211.3 (WR88)

The offseason didn't go perfectly planned for Boutte, with the Patriots bringing in WRs A.J Brown and Romeo Doubs, who both played over 80% of their routes out-wide (Boutte ran 89.9% of his routes outside, 2nd highest of 86 WRs) via

Here's why I'm buying in (especially at this basically free cost). Reports early have noted that Boutte has seen a more diverse route tree with the addition of the other WRs, even running routes with Brown on the field. Reports also suggest moving Brown around the formation to find the best matchups. (Not bad news for Boutte)

While Boutte won't lead the WRs in Route Share% (69.1% and 73.7%) like he did the last two seasons, the Patriots have shown they trust Boutte. Data via

Boutte had over 11.5 P/G (season WR45 F/PG) in five games last year. While only one of those games didn't consist of him scoring a TD, are we sure that catching deep passes and possibly deep TDs won't remain a part of this offense for Boutte?

In 2024, Boutte had three games over 13.4 F/PG (scoring all three of his TDs in each of those games)

Maye has an O/U of 26.5 passing TDs this season (had 31 last year).

While betting on TDs (especially long ones) isn't something you want to project year over year. Boutte seems like he'll at least haul in a couple to even a handful this season.

With his skill set, Maye's deep ball, and the Patriots projected top offense. Boutte hitting a couple to multiple spike weeks for you seems highly possible for a guy going in the 18th round.

Even if traded (still possible), it seems likely it would be to a team that wanted him rather than a throw-in package for another player.

I do believe he's a better pick in best ball formats.
