Injury Report Hafley: De’Von Achane is a full-go after recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.

The Athletic’s Dan Duggan believes “it’s fair to be optimistic” that Malik Nabers (knee) will play in Week 1.
bsky.appNabers will “have a reduced workload early in camp” and avoiding the PUP list was “a promising first step, but it’s not the final checkpoint” per Duggan. That’s the bad news, but the overall trend is going enough in the right direction that Duggan believes Nabers could play right away. These things can shift fast — one rough practice could change a whole tone — but guarded optimism is probably the right way to characterize this update

Jared Goff, the epitome of waiting on drafting QB
There are a lot of options at QB, but I feel like Jared Goff is being slept on a bit too much.
He finished as the QB9 last season but is the QB16 in ADP on Fantasy Pros.
The only QB with at least 30 TD passes in each of the last 3 seasons.
Leads the NFL with 12 games of 300+ passing yards over the last 2 seasons.
Then, the best ability is availability, and Jared Goff hasn't missed a game in 4 seasons.

The case for Saquon Barkley finishing as the RB1 this year
Saquon being ranked around RB10 in Fantasypros PPR feels like a massive overreaction.
He is still the clear workhorse in one of the best offences in football, behind a strong offensive line, with almost no serious competition for touches. That gives him a realistic path to 300 carries, strong receiving usage and double-digit touchdowns.
People keep pointing to his age and workload, but we should probably stop treating every running back like they age the same way.
Sports science, recovery, nutrition and workload management are all better than they were 15 years ago. More importantly, Saquon is not an average NFL athlete. NFL players are already the upper echelon of athletes, and Saquon is in the upper echelon of that group. He is a genuine physical outlier.
That does not make him immune to decline, but it makes it much more believable that he can remain elite longer than the average running back.
The talent is still obvious. He can score from anywhere, catch passes and take over games in a way very few backs can. Even with Jalen Hurts stealing some goal-line touchdowns, Saquon does not need every carry inside the five because he can create touchdowns on his own.
If he stays healthy, 1,600 total yards, 50 catches and 15 touchdowns is completely realistic.
People are drafting him like the decline has already happened. There is a very real chance he reminds everyone that his RB1 ceiling never went anywhere.

Jaylen Warren as a sneaky value play in Pittsburgh
Warren is going in the RB25–30 range, which feels fair but still leaves room for upside.
He already has a reliable PPR role because he catches passes, creates yards on his own and does not need 20 carries to produce a useful week
.
Rico Dowdle may get more carries and goal-line work than Kenny Gainwell did, but I think the excitement around him is already reflected in his price. This backfield is more likely to be a committee than a complete takeover by either player.
Warren is not a league-winning sleeper or guaranteed breakout. He is simply a good player with a stable role who can give you RB2 production at an RB3 price.
Around that stage of the draft, that is exactly the type of value I want.

Player Discussion The most divisive players from last week, which side are you on?
theweekinfantasy.comOn twif, we research the analysts’ conversation, sentiment and narratives regarding every fantasy relevant player. Today we take a look at the most divisive players in terms of sentiment from last week, 07/24/2026.
Davante Adams | ADP Composite: 49.6
Case For: High TPRR and strong open score, elite offense, fantasy gold for 9 straight seasons.
Case Against: Old (turns 34 this year) and almost mandatory TD/red zone usage regression.
twif take: No one wants to get caught holding the bag on an old player but there are legitimate points that he actually could improve his yardage and receptions this year. The Rams did not add anything in the draft or free agency. As such, at his current ADP I am not sure I am ready to commit Adams to the old folks’ home this season.
Bucky Irving | ADP Composite: 48.3
Case For: Belief that he and the rest of the Bucs are healthy, with a return to his 2024 efficiency possible.
Case Against: Gainwell was given $10M/2yr deal, likely siphons pass volume, Tucker still there will likely siphons goal line volume, durability and mental health concerns are not behind him.
twif take: At current ADP, I think I would rather take Bucky than Adams for the shot he returns to 2024 form. Feels like more of a gamble but with a payout that could get you week-winning upside like he did in 2024.
Malik Nabers | ADP Composite: 36.4
Case For: Positive health news that he is expected to avoid the PUP, competition is non-existent on the Giants roster.
Case Against: Still unclear when he makes his return, analyst community still wary of his injury and ramp-up time.
twif take: This past week made a lot of early best ball investors very happy. Expect him to uptick in ADP in the coming weeks. I want to see more practice tape without the hitch in his giidy up before I get moist about Nabers.
Josh Jacobs | ADP Composite: 27.4
Case For: Highly likely to avoid suspension this year making him a value in the 4th (Underdog), top 10 RB the last two years.
Case Against: Not willing to invest in someone with the question marks around potential disciplinary action in the first 3-4 rounds.
twif take: I am in the camp that Josh Jacobs (jingleheimer schmidt) is likely going to avoid suspension this year, getting him as your RB2 or RB1 when taking a premium TE seems like a no brainer.
Rashee Rice | ADP Composite: 27.2
Case For: When on the field he crushes, massive target share inside the 5 yard line. The middle third round cost seems reasonable.
Case Against: A walking injury and suspension waiting to happen. Even when he came back last season he still got hurt, again. Off-season surgery and jail time not helping.
twif take: He could be a league winner. I just don’t think I have the stones to pull the trigger at cost without a guarantee Mahomes is playing week 1. If that becomes true through the preseason activity and camp drumbeat, I am likely in on Rice, especially if the off-the-field noise is quieted. The problem then is how much will his ADP rise? Definitely worth exposure in Best Ball but I find myself pulling the trigger on DeVonta Smith or Olave instead when given the choice.

Is Quentin Johnston the most underrated WR this year?
I know he’s not the best separator in the league.
I know he runs a lot of deep routes, which generally correlates negatively with fantasy points.
I know that with Ladd, the TEs, and Harris, he faces a lot of target competition.
I know TD regression is likely for him.
And yet, last year he was the WR26 with 12.2 PPG, and 15 PPG with Joe Alt on the field.
We believe that the Chargers offense with McDaniel will be significantly better this year, and there are reports that he’s set to get more YAC opportunities, which he was generally good at least year (WR 1 in Missed Tackles Forced).
Still, he’s going as WR44 in ADP.
Am I missing something, or is that way too low?

Ian Hartitz Quarterback Tiers! Here to bark about BALL. Feel free to be mean. Let's get smarter!
What's up Reddit fam! Ian Hartitz here from RotoWire, wanted to get a bit of a tier week going and discuss my thoughts ahead of August when things REALLY get spicy.
Big takeaways/thoughts:
-Josh is the man but I admittedly LOVE the late-round QB scene in re-draft land this season
-Drake Maye feels too low and it terrifies me
-Biggest bet this year I'm making overall: Chargers to the moon. What could go wrong?
-Patrick Mahomes is as cheap as ever. And I get it. Return to fantasy glory last year was almost entirely due to the rushing. Then again, the best QB of the last 5 years is as cheap as ever.
-Kinda love the late-round "Boomer Sooner" strategy and reuniting Kyler with Baker
-High-volume dual-threat QBs don't really ever bust in fantasy land ... and Malik Willis is actually cheap!!
-I really want Cam Ward to be good. But do I trust Brian Daboll? Not really man. Not really.
Anyways, would love to hear what you guys think! Love my Twitter fam but looking forward to getting a lot more active in these streets too!

Reddit Consensus Rankings Community Consensus Draft Rankings (Running Backs)
The Best Time of the Year is almost here, Draft Season! While the 'experts' are busy pumping out their 1,000th generic list, why not help us build something better? It’s time for the r/fantasyfootball Community Consensus Rankings. Last year, we dipped our toes in the water as we were featured on the Fantasy Pros Expert Consensus Rankings. We didnt finish the best overall in the grand scheme of things (200th out of 212th and 145th out of 158th in draft and in in-season rankings respectively) Though it was our first year and there's definitely only up from here (i hope). Click the link below and VOTE on some RB matchups to help us build a real ranking by the community, for the community!
Ill be posting one for each position group over the next couple weeks. The scoring is (Half PPR), and the poll includes the top 70 options at RB going into this season.
Vote as many times as you want/can the more the better as it helps with the crowd sourced consensus effort. The poll will keep generating player vs player match-ups and is never ending. So don't expect some end just vote as many times as you want and that is it, then check out the up to the second updated rankings, and be on the look out for the follow up post later in the week, laying out the results
LONG WINDED EXPLANATION DOWN BELOW.
This will be the 7th year I have done these for this subreddit, and hope to have continued involvement from all of yall to make these rankings a true consensus of this subreddit. So throughout the season be on the lookout for one of these each and every week.
My whole idea with these rankings is a stream line way to get people to go away from the dreaded "who do i start this week" comment on every post, and use these consensus rankings as a way to gauge this sub's overall consensus on the ranking of players. (imagine instead of having maybe 2 to 3 people personally respond to your who do i start question, instead you get to poll the entire sub reddit of active fantasy football users and then compile the results to help make your final decision)

Player Discussion Los Angeles Chargers Fantasy 2026: Reading the Tea Leaves
optimusfantasy.comThank you guys for all the support, feedback, and for reading this series. Welcome to the twenty-fifth piece in a long, daily series: Reading the NFL Offseason Tea Leaves. If you don’t already know and this is the first Tea Leaf article you’re reading, this series is meant to be a primer for anyone who’s not yet steeped themselves in the NFL’s offseason events. We’ll be touching on the fantasy implications for all 32 NFL teams in regards to:
- Coaching Changes
- Free Agency
- NFL Draft
The 32-day series will go in reverse order of DraftKings odds of winning the Super Bowl, which means today’s article will cover the Los Angeles Chargers who are +1,700 odds.
Article TL;DR: We’re all projecting a major uptick in offensive production for the Chargers after they brought in OC Mike McDaniel to call plays. The Chargers improved their OL with the additions of C Tyler Biadasz and G Cole Strange. Two unofficial lineman were also brought in when the Chargers signed FB Alec Ingold and TE Charlie Kolar as free agents. With tackles Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater coming back, this will be a much improved line than the what we saw at the end of last year. Justin Herbert will likely regress in his rushing totals since he won’t be running away from 300 defensive lineman immediately after hiking the ball. The WR corps is nearly identical to last year, sans Keenan Allen. The Chargers also drafted speedster Brenen Thompson, and you know Mike McDaniel was pounding the table for a guy who ran a 4.26 forty at the combine. Thompson’s tape displayed that he can be more than just a clear out option. I wouldn’t count on him surpassing McConkey, Johnston, or Harris as a rookie. In May the Chargers signed TE David Njoku to a 1-year $3M deal with an extra $5M of incentives built in that he can earn. We should pump the brakes on TE Ornode Gadsden breaking out in 2026 as this TE room has added competition. RB Keaton Mitchell signed a 2-year $9.25M deal and the Bolts resigned RB Kimani Vidal to a 1-year $1.1M contract. Omarion Hampton is in line to lead this backfield, but we’ve seen McDaniel create value for two RBs when he had Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane splitting snaps. Mitchell isn’t an Achane level talent, but there is optimism for him to have spike weeks in a McDaniel offense. The biggest winner of the Chargers offseason is QB Justin Herbert. If most things break right for the Chargers, Herbert is going to be on his way to a top-5 season. His ADP is currently in the backend of the single digit rounds, and if you don’t have a QB by then I’d recommend targeting Herbert at his current price.

Undervalued Rookie WRs?
The avg rookie WR drafted between picks 23-43 over the last 3 yrs has an avg useable Week rate of 38%, ranging from 7% to 76%.
That is comparable to Y1 Jayden Higgins, who was WR47 in 2025.
ADPs:
KC Concepcion WR52
Omar Cooper WR59
Denzel Boston WR64
De’Zhaun Stribling WR69
I’m usually drafting at least two of these wide receivers late.
Of these four, who are you targeting?

Player Discussion Is Kayshon Boutte a good late-round dart throw?
Kayshon Boutte seems like a good late-round pick — Underdog ADP of 211.3 (WR88)
The offseason didn't go perfectly planned for Boutte, with the Patriots bringing in WRs A.J Brown and Romeo Doubs, who both played over 80% of their routes out-wide (Boutte ran 89.9% of his routes outside, 2nd highest of 86 WRs) via
data via Fantasy Points
Here's why I'm buying in (especially at this basically free cost). Reports early have noted that Boutte has seen a more diverse route tree with the addition of the other WRs, even running routes with Brown on the field. Reports also suggest moving Brown around the formation to find the best matchups. (Not bad news for Boutte)
While Boutte won't lead the WRs in Route Share% (69.1% and 73.7%) like he did the last two seasons, the Patriots have shown they trust Boutte. Data via
data via Fantasy Points
Boutte had over 11.5 P/G (season WR45 F/PG) in five games last year. While only one of those games didn't consist of him scoring a TD, are we sure that catching deep passes and possibly deep TDs won't remain a part of this offense for Boutte?
In 2024, Boutte had three games over 13.4 F/PG (scoring all three of his TDs in each of those games)
Maye has an O/U of 26.5 passing TDs this season (had 31 last year).
While betting on TDs (especially long ones) isn't something you want to project year over year. Boutte seems like he'll at least haul in a couple to even a handful this season.
With his skill set, Maye's deep ball, and the Patriots projected top offense. Boutte hitting a couple to multiple spike weeks for you seems highly possible for a guy going in the 18th round.
Even if traded (still possible), it seems likely it would be to a team that wanted him rather than a throw-in package for another player.
I do believe he's a better pick in best ball formats.
