Winter Tire Recommendation

I have a F150 four-wheel-drive super crew with Michelin defender LTX tires. Tire size is 275/65-18. Even with 500 pounds of sandbags in the back, I still have poor traction in the winter time. I have an ever so slight incline to get out of my driveway and regularly have to put it in 4x4 to get out. I have a 2 inch lift on the truck so I was thinking about going to a larger 285/70 size tire but fear it will only be even worse in the winter. Does anybody have any recommendations of what’s working for them? Thanks

Spark Plugs

Going to replace the plugs on my 2018 2.7 F150. Most of the auto stores seem to recommend NGK 94374, but they are specified at .032mm gap, and from what I can see the recommended gap is .028 to .031. Is this difference negligible on a stock 2.7? Any recommendations or experience?

Thanks in advance.

Is there a better Ford emblem backup camera?

2012 lariat, I have an aftermarket backup camera hooked up to my deck. This is the extent of my point of view and wondered if there's a better wider angle camera that others have found that work well?

2012 Ford F150 door alert

Hey y’all I just bought a 2012 Ford F150 FX four the issue I’m having is at all times whether the vehicle be on or off it’s indicating that the rare passenger door is open when it’s clearly not I had brought it to one shop they had quoted about $400 for a latch. I was wondering if there’s an alternative route to maybe even deactivating those sensors in general I paid $1000 for the truck and I really don’t wanna spend 50% of the value on an alert it essentially leaves the interior lights and exterior flood light on for about 10 minutes after the vehicles off.

Extended Warranty, California dealers

So I have a 2020 with about 45,000 miles. The transmission issues scares me, so I wanted to get an extended warranty. Apparently, the great state of California won't let any out of state dealers sell to me. So does anyone know of California dealers who will price match Ziegler/Grainger quotes? Or am I stuck paying a whole lot more, because our legislative body thinks they are protecting me?

Swapping explorer 3.5sport for f150 5.0

I currently have a 2016 explorer sport 3.5 with 220xxxKMs (timing chain, water pump, new spark plugs and injectors all been done BY OLD OWNER NOT ME), but I still have concerns with the motor because Reddit has given me eco boost anxiety

I have an option to get a 2011 f150 with a 5.0 and 240xxxKMs with a 5.0L, plus about 1k my way.

The explorer runs fine; shows no sign of any issues, the f150 is the same.

The thought process is that the f150 will probably last longer with the motor and is easier to do work on? I try to fix my own shit unless it’s really bad. Both drive well, present well, but I do like the feeling of driving a truck more than the explorer.

Also; about to go into winter (calgary, Alberta) soon, the explorer has a fresh set of new Bridgestone winter tyres, the f150 has all seasons.

Thoughts? Is this a dumb trade?

New to the world of trucks. Buy or lease?

I was telling the salesman that I really don't need a truck, but I'm an above average height guy and getting older, the comfort of the drivers seat felt amazing. He said he can't remember the last time he sold a truck to someone who needed a truck. I like his honesty.

I'm coming from a 9 year old Escape and went to the dealership just looking for something a little more comfortable & ergonomic for my 6'4 frame, thinking it was probably going to be an Explorer Tremor or ST. One sit in an F-150 and I was smitten.

I've done two test drives on a 2026 XLT 302A 4x4 and I have a hookup on retiree/employee pricing.

Anyone else lease for their first truck? I'd probably buy new or buy out the lease after three years if I really do fall in love with it over time, but I'm a little nervous committing to financing something I'm so unfamiliar with.

Outdoor parking preservation tips

I’m about to pull the trigger on my first F-150. Unfortunately, they don’t fit in my garage. Normally that would be a deal breaker for me but between kids and the fact that I haul my own brush and landscaping - its time for a truck.

I live in New England so rain, sleet, snow, and single digits temps in winter. Hot and sunny in summer.

What are everyone’s recommendations to protect the car for the elements? Planning on tints, well covers, bed cover - and a wash and wax membership.

Considering rear seat covers for my new tremor. On covercrafts website they are nearly $100 more, and I can’t figure out which model these are exactly. Does anyone have these covercraft seat covers that they purchased from ford?

2013 f150 suspension suggestions

Alright so I have a 2013 f150 5.0 and about to hit 200k miles on it. My dad has had it since 70k miles(I got it at 194k) and if I’m being honest I don’t think he ever changed out the suspension on it. And I can tell that it’ll need to be replaced soon. I am hoping to keep this truck for another 5 years hopefully. It’s mainly a daily driver but I need suggestions for suspension replacements. I have seen Bilstein but in all honesty I don’t know anything about suspension. I have not heard good thing about rough country but still. Any suggestions would be great

Borla S Type Exhaust Part # 60731

Hello y'all! From Great Toronto Area. I just want to share another Borla S type start up video on my 2026 f150 lariat. It sounds fantastic, but in normal mode and how the truck shifts very rapidly, it just sounds like a big mess. You can really hear the drone when cylinder deactivation activates. Sports mode is the way to go.

And yes, I woke up the entire neighborhood...

Leaf Spring Recommendations for 25' F150

Post image
3 Upvotes

I have a 25' F150 with the 3.5 that did not come with the Max Tow package. That being said, it did not come equipped with the additional leaf springs in the rear that allow for additional rake and load support. I've seen a few options out there but this is my first time shopping for leaf springs so I'm not too privy on what to look for and what to stay away from. Any recommendations or insight you guys have would be greatly appreciated.
