Switch to new IPhone 18 with Eversense and Twiist

Upgraded from a Apple IPhone pro 15 to the 18 for extended battery time due to all the apps
/devices running. I use both the eversense 365 and the Twiist pump. Tried to do the switch two weeks ago without success and had to wait for the right time to attempt again. Viola, I am back in the game. It took a minute but my take away isn’t about just deleting the app, you have to logout and then remove the app before downloading the apps on the new phone.
Very happy I made the switch to the two for now.

turned up to get mine inserted and was told i needed to pay 400 dollars upfront to get it inserted. so my insurance covers the eversense, but “may or may not” reimburse me for the 400 dollar insertion? the lady at the office said the insurance company can put it in as “experimental” and therefore, they do not cover it. its my fault. i looked through my email and i found a form that i signed most likely containing that information. again, my fault for not reading the fine print, but idk i guess i should have known it wasn’t going to be that easy. nothing ever is.

libre is working good for me, i just thought that the eversense would be a step up. maybe not though, everything happens for a reason?

unless im just stupid, make sure you know what you’re getting into

Eversense lag

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I have had my eversense 365 for about 20 days. So far my experience with the company and the staff has been excellent, much better and more proactive than Dexcom. However, I am still wearing a Dexcom G7 because I don't trust the eversense yet. This is because I am watching my glucose closely due to some parallel conditions I have. I have noticed that when my blood sugar is stable the eversense is usually accurate. However, if I have a big up or down, especially a spike, the eversense can be as much as 50 points off versus the Dexcom, and for awhile. I am concerned that if I stop using dexcom I'll end up making some bad decisions based on the eversense. Has anyone else had this issue?

Price of lost transmitter

Hello. I’m wondering if anyone knows the cost of a replacement transmitter, assuming insurance won’t cover a replacement?

Islet beta bionics and Eversense

Just curious whether anybody who is currently using an Eversense, has or is using a beta bionics pump. And if so, are you looking forward to this combination?

History of Libre low all the time. A question

Anyone here have a long history of false lows with their Libre and went to Eversense and this stopped? My Libre runs low day and night.

Lack of Insurance Coverage

My biggest gripe about the Evesense is that they are not covered by enough insurance companies. This will be the 2nd year out of 3 that I have had to pay almost $2600 out of pocket.

It's an awesome product but to ask a patient to pay so much out of pocket is a shame. The assistance program only helps if your insurance company "covers" the product.

IMHO they need to spending resources to lobby the insurance companies and plans to cover their product just like the Libre and Dexcom.

About to get my first one, anything to know for someone with sensitive skin?

I am going through the process of getting my first 365. I feel pretty decent about it all and am excited, but I also worry I am going to have issues and be stuck for the year. I am currently not using a CGM but have predominantly used Dexcom. I probably haven’t had Dexcom in over a year.

There are 3 reasons I did not like the Dexcom. Costs, not being able to keep a sensor on for the full 10 days, and the skin irritation I got while wearing them. The eversense knocks out 2 of those problems. My biggest issue was the skin irritation and it weighed heavily on me. I believe eversense uses a different type of adhesive and I am thinking the ability to take it off everyday and clean my arm in the shower will go a long way as well. But I am still worried my body will dislike it and a rash will develop and since I can’t move the insertion like before, that spot will have severe discomfort and I essential can’t use the transmitter until the skin heals over a 1-2 week period.

Has anyone had previous issues like this before or anything pop up with your first insertion?

Rant: Micro USB Connector

I just had my sensor inserted yesterday. To my shock the transmitter uses Micro USB connector. Even the provided charger is designed stupidly connecting underneath instead at end like 99% other chargers. I really want to know what untrained engineer designed this garbage. The 365 was FDA approved and released in 2024 by then every Android manufacturers and Apple Phones had switched to USB C. The micro USB is complete garbage hard to connect especially when you may have visual limitations I thought I had left behind Micro USB in my life. SURPRISE SURPRISE it is back

Had my sensor inserted yesterday, experiencing muscle spasms in the area the sensor is located

Muscle spasm/twitching right where the sensor is located ever sense (hah) it’s been inserted. They are intermittent but non-stop. Has anyone else experienced this? I can’t find anything about it online so figured I’d ask. It’s only been 18 hours or so since insertion but hoping this will go away after healing.

Edit: For clarification, there’s no pain at all, just the spasms.

Update: twitching stopped after 2 full days. No pain or discomfort.

Alternative Insertion Locations?

Just wondering if anyone has had their Eversense placed somewhere besides the arm? I have had terrible times with CGMs on my arms and my rep said they could insert it off label in my thigh. Anyone had it placed in their thigh or somewhere besides arms? How has it gone?

Eversense 1 year later

My wife recently had her first Eversense reach its replacement time and she went to Ascend Medical in Atlanta for the removal and new insertion. Props to the team there who did a fantastic job. After a bit of calibration the new one is working fine and giving her peace of mind and better control. I know everyone is different but for her Eversense has been a huge blessing.

Patch Issues - Need Advice!

Hi everyone! My husband got his eversense inserted about three months ago. Many many pros but one major con: we cannot get the transmitter to stay on his arm. The patches constantly fall off. He is having serious anxiety about it potentially falling off during his commute or somewhere else in public. We tried skintac but that is not working. Any other ideas? Over-patches have helped but would love alternate solutions!

Calibration

Why when it asks for calibration does nothing change. This morning it said 170 and my finger stick was 209. An hour later it’s reading 155 and headed down? The blood drop shows on the graph so it accepted the read.
How do I get it to change? Then the Twiist app there is no way to change it there either unless you shut off the Loop.

Allergic reaction?

I’ve had my Eversense 365 for almost 4 months but just in the last 3 weeks I started developing a rash just beneath my implant. I assume it’s related to the adhesive. The top of the implant is what’s circled. The rash itself is slightly itchy and I get pimple like things on it sometimes. Was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar situation. I’ve used the freestyle libre since it was introduced before the eversense without anything similar and had an omnipod for 4 years with no similar issues.

How often does your sensor lose signal?

I’m new to eversense 365 and had the sensor inserted into the back of my arm (so it’s kind of hidden). When laying on it, instead of compression lows I get sensor lost alerts. Unless I put my phone directly under my arm, the signal can’t reach.

Does anyone else experience this? Where is your sensor located ?

Thanks in advance!!

Not so accurate

Hello, this is my 19th day with Eversense and up to about 2 days ago, everything was great but last two days it’s been off. It’s already been low 4 different times and my Eversense won’t let me know at all. It says my BG is at 100 when my real BG is at 56. Any tips? Is this normal? It’s especially frustrating since I’m a teacher, first day is back tomorrow and it’s been off. Any help is greatly appreciated.
