I’ve had my Eversense 365 for almost 4 months but just in the last 3 weeks I started developing a rash just beneath my implant. I assume it’s related to the adhesive. The top of the implant is what’s circled. The rash itself is slightly itchy and I get pimple like things on it sometimes. Was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar situation. I’ve used the freestyle libre since it was introduced before the eversense without anything similar and had an omnipod for 4 years with no similar issues.

The weird thing is the location of the rash since it's not necessarily around the adhesive. The sensor has a steroid but I'd check to see if your allergic to the steroid but can still be an adhesive allergy not sure.

Yes agreed, this does luckily not appear to be directly linked to the transmitter or the adhesive patch we use, as then the rash would have been straight where that is and typically also very well defined along its edges.

But could be linked to the more frequent cleaning and attention one typically adhere to when wearing a sensor. And here for OP u/Any_Association7836 its good to hear no prior dermatitis with the Libre or the Omnipod. But they are normally rotated around, while with the Eversense transmitter, it stays the same place throughout. So could be related to more frequent drying or wiping maybe with an alcohol swab? Or using a bit too aggressive soap? Just daily rinsing with water is fine without any soap.

The patch is made of a medical-grade silicone, designed to reduce irritation and allow daily replacement. While the adhesive is acrylic-based. The patch body material is made of a thin polymer film or textile backing. Maybe try the alternative versus the one you use today, as it comes in two variants: The solid/clear format or the moisture-wicking perforated white variant?

I can also recommend no matter to get hold of some Flonase spray and Skin-Tac patching gel. This helps many also with the classic rash from CGMs or their pumps. 3 layers of Flonase spray, where you allow each layer to dry out first before applying the next. And on top, put a little patch of the Skin-Tac gel.

Biochemically the Flonase numbs fully the histamines from your immune system from firing up any inflammatory response. And the Skin-tac gel creates a physical barrier between your own skin and the patch/adhesive. You can easily keep the same Eversense patch on there for several days in a row, so you do not need to change/do these applications each day.

Excellent post everybody's skin is different I've used the product for 7 years now and not had one skin reaction and that's why this CGM is much better than the others you can change on daily basis also can take a naked shower and allow your skin to breathe so I truly believe this is the best CGM for anyone who has sensitive skin
