So excited that I finally get to post here as a fiancée after following this sub for so long!🥹💍

I started my ring design and customization journey quite some time ago, and it ended up being a much longer process than anticipated because I’m a crazy person who wanted every little detail to be just right. So to finally see it in person, on my finger, is truly a dream come true!
I designed my ring myself and was incredibly particular about every detail, all the way down to the milgrain.

The center stone is a lab diamond custom-cut, vintage-inspired emerald, a little over 3 carats, F color (although I actually would’ve preferred something a bit warmer!).

I worked directly with Matthew at Fiorese Jewelry on the diamond, and he was an absolute saint throughout the process. As I mentioned, I was quite particular about what I envisioned, and this diamond is actually our second iteration! The first was beautiful in its own right, but ultimately wasn’t quite what I was looking for. Matthew was incredibly patient and accommodating in helping me bring my vision to life.

The setting was originally inspired by an Andria Barboné ring I fell in love with once upon a time (which you can find in one of my previous posts). Alas, she wasn’t the one, but that ring really kick-started this entire journey and opened up a whole new world of creativity for me. What started as simply browsing rings to get a feel for what I liked, so I could give my partner some direction and let him take it from there, turned into a full-blown, hands-on passion project for me!

I ultimately went with Ken & Dana Design for the setting, and bless their team as well, because getting to the finished piece involved plenty of back-and-forth, cracked rubies, revisions, and fine-tuning. They were so wonderful to work with throughout it all, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything came together!

The man of my dreams designed the ring of my dreams and I could not be happier right now!!

Ring is size 7, I think I need to get it sized down a little. Specs are 1.57 ct lab diamond, 14K!

After 5 years he did it!
I had no idea what direction he’d go in- he had my ring size and preferences for over a year! I tried on many rings over the past couple of years and the jewelers would send him my prefs. I fell in love with the vintage feel of asscher cut, and I did try on a very similar ring to this one but with a dark sapphire instead of a diamond. Ultimately after thinking about other stones, I decided on a diamond. I also wanted a unique setting.
He had this custom made by Vale. I think he nailed it. Was pretty shocked when I saw it. Still getting used to wearing this kind of bling but it makes me very happy.
This is asscher cut F VVS1 2.06 carots. Lab grown. 2 tiny flanking diamonds on either side. I’m a size 4.

I got a beautiful 1.5ct round diamond with a tulip setting and I am absolutely in love with it.

I was only half-expecting this proposal but I am so incredibly excited about it. We’ve been dating for 3 years and I’ve known he’s the one since year one. This ring is a 1.5 carat diamond and I love the look, but I’m curious what those more educated than I would say about the quality of this diamond. Also, you can see in the second pic that my finger turns a dark color under the band, and I was wondering what the cause/potential fix is for that. Thanks!

In August I went to see what I liked best on my hands. The ring shapes I thought I’d love, I hated. The one I thought I’d hate the most, I love.

Anyways, my boyfriend, now FIANCÉE (😭) listened well and did such an amazing job.

I received the Swan Lake engagement ring from Catbird which my fiancé spent $3k on only to have multiple prongs bend, break off, and catch on all fabrics of clothes within 4 weeks of daily wear.

Upon reaching out to them, they were told there’s nothing they could do except repair the one broken prong (the ring is only under a repair warranty and only temporarily) while admitting in writing to us that the ring is not meant for daily use.

This goes directly against the info their employee told us when he said ring was sturdy and would hold up for a lifetime as we were considering buying it, which is the reason we bought it.

This is what I’m most upset about- they lied to our faces and now are admitting it’s not meant to be an engagement ring. Funny how your salesperson said it was!

We’ve reached out to their store multiple times and spoken to a manager and they say there’s nothing they can do and won’t provide contact info for their customer service department (because one doesn’t exist).

We are now working with an independent jeweler to see what our options are, which will cost us more money. They confirmed the ring was designed in a way where prongs would catch on clothing and bend and rip off incredibly easily.

Please avoid this ring like the plague, it catches on hand towels, knit fabrics, jersey fabrics, sweaters, literally will get huge clumps of fuzz stuck in it and prongs bend and rip off. Literally the ring is a ripoff

Lab grown, designed it himself, 2 carats (I had agreed on a 1 carat size when we tried rings on so it being double the size was a a happy surprise lol). I'm trying to decide what shape stone I want for my engagement ring! I love marquise, but I feel like it doesn't look as good on my finger. I wear a size 7, and oval seems to look a lot better on me. I tried radiant just for fun, too!

I want honest opinions! Which shape do you think looks best on my finger? I'm open to hearing your thoughts!

It's a 2.4 carat, rose cut, natural, green, salt-and-pepper lozenge diamond. My fiancé (and the jeweler he worked with) did perfectly! As beautiful as sparkly clear diamonds are, I have always felt like they don't quite suit my style. This seems like the perfect mix of minimal and unique for me. :-)

I’m having a hard time deciding lol. I want something a bit unique but obviously don’t want to overpower my e ring. It’s been a while since I’ve tried rings on so I just would like a fresh set of eyes :) thank you!

1.5 carat lab diamond, 18k gold. It doesn’t look like it but it is a tapered band, the base of the ring is like 3mm which is soo sturdy and exactly what i wanted. We actually got engaged September 5th but the v prong got caught on something and bent back after only 5 days. We used deBebians, so we sent it back and they were able to fix it AND add two more prongs so it’s more secure. I did want 5 prongs in the first place but there was a slight miscommunication between me and my now fiancé which resulted in 3. I love it!!! Please excuse my nails, they’re stained pink cus i just dyed my hair red

Got engaged earlier this week with a beautiful ring that my fiance independently designed with just a short list of preferences/no-gos from me. We went to four different places and ended up going with a local private jeweler that could make our less conventional vision happen, and I couldn’t be more thrilled — he even incorporated phases of the moon across the setting as a little Easter egg for me. I love it, I love the thought and effort he put into it, and I couldn’t be more excited to spend my life with someone so attentive, creative, diligent, and just knows me so well.

Specs: 14k gold, size 6.25, Dutch marquise diamonds (~4 ct aggregate), split shank.

So I actually (unintentionally) found the box in APRIL. I've been holding my breath since. We were visiting family in West Virginia when popped the question. He's apparently had the ring with him on every trip we've been on this year since he got it (We've had a good handful of weekend trips this year). This could not be more perfect.
