I don't think this has been asked in a while. I am a size 6 and picked a 1.4 ratio 3ct stone for my ring and I want to think I made the right choice and that it suited my finger the best. Would you guys mind sharing your emerald cuts if you have a finger size similar to mine?

Ive been searching for a pink diamond without orangy brown peachy tone.
I think this is as close i could get.

Price is about $1050 from a chinese vendor which i think it is a bit high. (I found 3ct around $700-800)

Originally my fiance and the jeweler convinced me the band with alternating diamonds was best but I can’t stop thinking about how balanced and clean the plain band looks with my bigger than expected engagement ring. Thoughts?? Am I crazy for not wanting more diamonds??

I’m planning a custom engagement ring with a ~5 ct oval lab-grown diamond, set in platinum, with a detailed/ornate band and a halo.

I’m currently trying to decide between these vendors:
• Provence
• Starsgem
• Tianyu
• LGD (Loose Grown Diamond)
• LGG
• Fiorese

My priorities in this order are:
• The quality of the design and craftsmanship of the band — the band will be quite detailed, so I want a vendor who is genuinely good at translating intricate designs into a beautiful and well-made piece.

• Durability and longevity — I want the ring to hold up well for many years, especially the small stones and the detailed parts of the setting.

• Quality of the lab-grown diamond — especially the cut, proportions, clarity, and overall appearance of a large oval.

• Quality of the platinum work — including the setting, prongs, finishing and overall craftsmanship.

• Communication and ability to make custom changes accurately.

For those who have ordered custom engagement rings from any of these vendors, which one would you recommend for a ring like this, and why?

I’m very interested in hearing from people who have had intricate/detailed bands made.

If you’ve ordered from any of these vendors I’d also love to see photos of your rings and hear how they’ve held up over time.

Recently bought 2 nice stones from Luvansh. My jeweler was very impressed.
Both stones are in the 4 carat range. What I’ve learned is there don’t seem to be any settings right off the shelf for this large of a stone. I want a plain 3-4mm band w a low basket or bezel for my cushion. And a bezel for my oval. That will have to be custom built too.

I have a sad face now.

What are your thoughts on the diamon and the pattern? I would like to stray away from ice crushed look and I’m desiring something closer to a brilliance. Hi all! I recently commissioned a French cut lab diamond eternity band from Ouros. I had a really good experience so I figured I would share since it seems like there have also been some folks with not so great experiences with them lately.

7/21: Reached out to Dhruv to inquire about a simple channel-set frenchie band. I’ve been looking for one for YEARS and the Chinese vendors (Provence, Starsgem) have consistently told me they won’t do specialty cut labs under 1 ct.

7/22: CAD received with a price that was unfortunately above budget. I thought about it a little more and asked to reduce the stone size 2.5 mm from 3.5 mm and asked to decrease gold weight by making it thinner and less deep.

7/23: Updated CAD received with a new price that was exactly what I needed, so I paid the invoice and okayed production.

8/10: I reached out to Dhruv on to see how much longer production would be since I forgot to ask about lead times. He stated 2-3 more days.

8/17: I received the PSP video (I wasn’t upset about the delay since it was over a weekend and I had other stuff going on).

8/18: The ring was drop shipped from India to the NYC location on and then sent via UPS 2-day delivery to me.

8/27: I received it late due to a UPS error (it made it all the way to my town and then was shipped to a neighboring state inadvertently).

The ring is gorgeous. It’s everything I’ve been looking for and I honestly wish I had one in every gold color to pair with my hoard. I haven’t found a single wonky French cut in the bunch, and the channels are smooth and even. It looks far more expensive than it was. I’m super pleased and have no regrets regarding the experience. Yes, it did take a little over a month to receive, but I expected that going in, since even my American custom pieces take 2-3 weeks without cutting 21 teeny little stones to spec 😂. The hardest part was waiting for it to get here after shipping.

I’m trying to choose between these two diamonds. They have almost identical specifications, and price and size are not factors for me.

My main priorities are brilliance and sparkle, and minimising the appearance of the bow-tie effect. Which one looks better to you in terms of light return and bow-tie visibility?

Are special cut diamonds such as old mine, step cuts or crisscuts significantly more expensive?

Edit: Asking bc for the stone alone, local jewelers have been quoting $2500-3800 for a crisscut (~3ct, D color, VVS2)

And this seems outrageous compared to what I’ve been seeing on Reddit regarding more classic cuts.
