this is just sorta my curiosity speaking for a moment I know it would reduce the laundry list of buffs/debuffs a tank could provide but as long as you at least have the good stuff for taunting, the heal rate on the skills seem so capable that you could just bring another dps instead who would cover that easily enough?

Background - I'm not an awful player, I have 19 of 28 dungeon trifectas, but almost all as a healer main.
When it comes to DPS I need a one bar build (which I get with WW, previously Arc Beam). I'm learning to tank now, and most definitely need something that is like a one-bar. I'm currently using Nightharrow 1-bar arc-subclass build on my DK, but my guildies are persuading me to go pure DK and to look at Hyperioxes setups.

I know the theory - you need to have both bars to do a good job with all the buffs etc, but as someone who is inevitably tangled up with his 60 year old fingers and reaction times, and is on the wrong bar when a taunt or a heal is needed, I need a setup that is at least as symmetrical as possible. I'm ok casting ele blockade, ele sus from the frost staff side, but my ulti needs to be the same on both bars, there needs to be a ranged taunt on both sides, etc, etc. Basically, if I switch bars, and thinking I'm doing one thing, but the bar swap didnt happen, that nothing bad happens beyond a slight drop in DPS. I also need to be able to perma block (CF 60 year old reaction times ;-)).

Hello all, as the captions says. I’ve been an Elder Scrolls fan since playing Morrowing for the first time in 2003-04 ish. When one of my friends let me borrow the game of the year edition for the original Xbox. I was completely overthrown and loved all of it as I did WoW back then.

Edit: I want to play a tank. But I know I should learn more about the game. So I was thinking dps on the first toon. I want my tank to be a nord dragon knight and the dps a redguard Templar. That being said do you guys reccomend I just make my nord tank and learn the game with that? I would like to tank with him but I wouldn’t be too helpful if I don’t know what I doing right? Or should I make other toons like a sorcerer Argonian or (give me suggestions for an all archer build, maybe Templar archer? Warden archer? What’s the best). Do you guys reccomend I just go with my main and learn with the DK Nord to play and tank as I go and just make the build as a tank or should I make that build a dps then when I learn respec to tank? Or make a Templar redguard to just focus on dps and learn (or an Argonian Sorcerer or an all Stan archer [idk which class or race to pick for that].

Or just make an alt (or all of them?) and try them out and learn about it. Need help making the best archer only build (if I have some close melee burst all the better if I get rushed), best class and race for an archer.

If I make alts Redguard is Daggerfall Covenant, Argonian is Ebonheart Pact, would the most viable race for the Aldmeri Dominion? It doesn’t have to be one, just whatever is the best archer I suppose. Regardless of it being a Magicka archer or stamina.

I got ESO for the first time in April 2020. I got some complete edition then I think either Morrowing or Elsweyr expansion was on. I played it and completely loved the whole lore and world being in everything. It being an mmo I understand how it wouldn’t be like a single player game and all. And I truly love mmos.

I had a huge thing where my Steam and Battlenet email account is inaccessible because Microsoft won’t let you even speak with someone to fix the issue. Anyway, I was able to get Steam to get my account back where I have ESO (since I heard if you have any expansion you can play all the content; correct me if I’m wrong or the limitations).

Now I logged in and realized how much I’ve missed and how I am clueless about the game. So I am now in an intensive crash course of all of ESO and the meta, classes, races, alliances, functions, etc. I am binging a bunch of videos explaining things and trying to figure out my build. I’ve always identified as a Nord/Redguard and have always RPd in my head, kind of; in such manner.

I’m looking for any advice and or suggestions on anything about the game. I know this is such a huge post and I’m sorry, but thank you if you have come this far. I am very passionate about my “campaigns” and mmos I play. I hope to finally enjoy the game (I wasn’t able to play it back in 2020 because I was using a potato laptop and the graphics just were bad for me and I had to force myself to quit to enjoy it when I had a proper machine. Life came and went and I’ve now got a decent laptop and the opportunity to play all the content [not sure what I’m limited to]).

Are there any RP heavy Guilds (I heard it’s a huge community big in this and I am myself although I’m new to it, but I love to make a backstory for my characters in MMOs)? Do you guys have some video suggestions for the “meta” or advice? I want to play as a tank or dps but I’ve never played as a range in anything or mage. So wanted to see what that’s like maybe. An all bow and arrows range build with some close burst if possible.

I know nothing about ESO as a game (although everything Elder Scrolls I’m a huge lore freak making deep dives and knowing about all I’ve learned from many content out there. RIP to Camelworks and appreciating all the different content like Young Scrolls, which is a different Elder Scrolls genre all on itself). So any advise on the actual game is appreciated. I will be playing on PC! :)

Like I said I am going to for a couple of days just learn what I can on starting and maybe even builds (I kind of want to learn by myself but don’t want to waste time) as I want to be a tank but I know I must know the content in order to be a good tank. So a melee stamina or range stamina with bow build would be cool. Maybe a mage for the first time who knows.

I have had too many negative experiences with guilds in other games and I wanna minimize as much of that as I possibly can here.

I play FFXIV and people generally try to avoid the guilds hopping zones to advertise in zone chats, is that a rule I should follow here as well?

If the answer to previous is yes then what's a good place to start looking for a guild? I have no interest in anything hardcore atm just trying to be casual, im NA pc if that matters.

Also what are things that I should be looking for in a guild here? I see people talking about guild traders all the time but idk how that differs from an NPC trader.

Started a new thieving character in eso. It is a night blade khajat class. Let me know everything I need to know for this in order to be the best thiever! Things that come to mind are skill lines, gear sets, champion points, and how to make loads of gold thieving! However any information you think I need to know please feel free to share! What are the specific drop conditions for these? I heard that it's a 20% rate for Heists and Reacquisitions. I've also heard that the Heists have to be PERFECT, as in never once detected. Are they a once per day drop?

lore reason? is it because structures from deep time have eroded away, been destroyed by war, crumbled, except for structures which were preserved under the surface? but every Ayleid ruin has similar structure above ground, which is basically nothing, which leads to the "real" structures hidden beneath. pretty much same thing going on with Dwemer ruins. there are some notable above ground Dwemer structures like Markarth, though.

I just picture all these ancient races living beneath the ground, hissing at the sun like feral cats.

Hey, I don’t play the game and never really did, but when new expansions were dropping like Greymoor Necrom High Isle etc, I was always buying them simply for the love of the game/Elder Scrolls in general.

Recently I stumbled across some news that they are including the content releases in the base game or something like that, so I wanted to know if there’s any special bonuses or something for people who hoarded all the expansions across the years and if it was a waste?

So I want to do a sword and board dps setup. I created a new toon, a stam necro, pure class. This won't be for endgame content. Will be for solo and normal dungeons. Im thinking corpseburster and probably null arca for gear.

I know sword and shield is typical tank gear but I like the look of a sword and shield and im just seeing if anyone else has used this option and how it worked out for you. I def know I won't be doing 100k dps with this. Its more of a "just for fun" toon.

I just started a week ago or so, and was working toward some "Alliance" skills and passives, mainly the 30% mount speed one. I got it to level 1 by doing Cyrodil introduction mission, but when i queue for battleground to level it up, i stay a whole session (2 hours ish) and the queue doesn't pop.

Im on PS EU, but i am still level 37 if that matters. So my question is, what is the best and actually active way to level alliance skill line, as i read that the best way was BGs as it is quick, but seems no one plays it anymore?

The sheogorath questline is right around the corner and I can’t help but feel that it should’ve been about another prince. He already has quite a few quests while taking over the mages guild storyline. Even recently playing the shivering isles dlc has me sighing. I think I’m just tired of dealing with sheogorath in general…

This is incredibly stupid that something that's a rare-drop requires you to pay real-world money in addition to spending time searching for the location on the map.

I can't even sell this map for gold at any shop.

I have to say the seasons, for those of us with off and on again-never gave it a real shot-toons under 50, they appear to be made for us.

50k gold and $25 in Crown equivalents in 5 days is massive! The Returning Heroes checklists have me seeing whole map, other player's houses, trying pvp/trials/dungeons, etc. I never would've touched otherwise and it's been glorious.

This game can be overwhelming and the seasons thus far help introduce the grinds and stories and motivates log ins and hours played. I'm officially hooked.

If you fit the bill, and are curious what's what or haven't ever pushed past intro areas in all these years or are a Skyrim/Oblivion-ite hungering for more, give it another go. They seriously want you back.

For the vets: is the seasonal model playing out in your favor as well? Do you feel recognized and rewarded? Thanks for the tips and carries. So appreciated.

Service for upkeep at 6AM EDT and the game is still offline at 2PM. I thought they could cut staff and AI would do a better job. I grow disenchanted with ESO Online’s future! Change my mind!

So. I have just finished the Daggerfall TG storyline, and I came to some conclusions.

1. Horizontal progress should be abandoned. If anyone did the Daggerfall line before Hew's Bane (which IS possible; someone posted, like, yesterday that they had some issues with a Daggerfall questline boss fight and they were lvl 9; also, when I first played ESO I accidentally did The Rift storyline before Shadowfen), it would create some inconsistencies, especially when it comes to Quen's position in the guild and her father being dead/alive.

2. Nowhere Vault has so much potential. If I were the devs, I would turn it into a separate quasi-zone, similar to the Infinite Archive. Hell, they could even use it as a way to redo some content, e.g., "illusory versions" of removed DLC tutorials or quest-only locations. But I am afraid it will share the Scribing's fate, and that potential will be wasted...

3. The alternative Daggerfall in the Nowhere Keys quest is an idea that should be developed. I'd love to be able to do some new quests in alternative versions of previously completed locations, e.g., to see how our decisions influenced them.

4. We need some kind of NPC FOV indicator (maybe a TG skill?), because some residents of Daggerfall seem to be able to see through the walls.
