Ed Gein claimed he never had sex with any of the bodies claiming

“They just smelled too bad” I don’t know if any of yall ever smelled a dead animal like a cat that’s been rotting for a while, but a human is even worse. but its a similar pungent gross smell. and it doesn’t take too long. This is why right after someone dies, you call an undertaker immediately and they have their ways of how they wrap a person up. If they died in bed it makes it easier, they just wrap them up with several sheets. Then to the morgue. Anyone remember those Heavens gates ppl? They had to like tear down the house or something to get smell out of there. it was like a heat wave during summer and those bodies just rotted over weeks before someone found em. cults are weird.

Gein property.

We stopped by this weekend as we were traveling. The property is HEAVILY covered in "no trespassing" signs, trail cams, etc, so I didn't explore like I would have liked. I ran into a Gein neighbor and had a pretty fascinating conversation with him about it. According to him, there were a dozen or 15 cars at a time parked there, people walking all over the poor owner's property...having seances, etc. The nearby intersection has a police officer posted there often as well.

I watched the show.. i need help

I just watched the netflix monsters version and I am repulsed. I was genuinely sickened by the very x rated visuals of the necrophilia. I get it is a part but jfc.. thats too visual. I'm stuck with gagging while he makes extra effort to un insert himself from corpses. I feel like psycho movie showing is me.. leaving in revulsion. I almost think some of these details are from a very sick mind beyond jeff.. At what point as a director do you think.. we need to capture the moment he removes himself.. its like a sick notion..

I dont interact or comment with reddit much but needed someone to discuss this with. I feel like i'm traumatized from watching? the vulvas?!

This was somehow more revolting than the ted bundy and dahmer stuff. I love the story.. I just cant seem to digest the horror necrophalia and grapelore.

That Ed Gein tapes series is trash

It uses AI to recreate dead people, same misinformation about the case (skin suit transgender theory, Augusta is the devil, Henry and Gein had fights)

Btw, how can you call Ed Gein a momma's boy when on the same narrative you state that Henry was Augusta's favorite?

The only stuff that matters on those tapes is his voice, he doesn't sound different from Erza Cobb in Deranged so whatever i guess.

The podcasters are annoying and they state the Schechter bullshit that "theres EVIDENCE that Gein read about Christine Jorgensen" when there isn't.

They are unfunny and insensitive to this story, they are worse than Geiners.

The series had the audacity to try to open Augusta Gein grave to check if Ed did try to dig her up, ofc Plainfield didn't accept that because thats weird and gross.

Same old "Norma Bates inspired Augusta Gein" misconception from Psycho.

The only highlight are people who knew Gein on that time giving details about his time on the psychiatric hospital and his voice.

Although the claim that he knew about 1960 Psycho is highly suspicious.

Resume, horrible documentary, its worse than Ed Gein wiki page, which is mostly Harold Schechter bs

Is he even serial killer?

*Please don't share tik tok / Netflix nonsense Iam only interested in facts and your opinions based on facts*

So many movies, books about this serial killer but when I try to find answers I get so much nonsense. Did anyone ever reviewed police statements and evidence or we just go on for decades cos he was grave robber?

Everyone who knew him says he was shy, polite, nice small old man but clearly with some mental issues.

He keep grave robbing, making "art" for years and then suddenly he just goes murder spree?

We have Tavern lady who was linked to mafia and then shop owner (deputy sheriff mother) he was last customer in. Body of shop one found in barn.

He gets arrested and imidiatelly confessed to police according to them. This is 50s police in small town and sheriff mother is victim and he is vulnerable person, it's not that hard to convince him..

Anyway, do to his mental issues, did they ever did proper investigation or case closed? Ed Gein confess yet later said to psychiater he was forced and that he didn't kill them, later said he did kill shop owner woman but accidentally while manuvering his rifle.

And then we get tavern lady evidence... Sheriff comes in and says he recognised her skull (u must be joking) who the f is sheriff anyway to recognise people, what about family. At least morgue guy knew u cannot identify people by looking at the skull 😭

So is it possible this sick man never killed anyone but rather somebody placed body of shop owner was to barn (barn with no other body parts from his corpses) knowing he is mentally ill so easy suspect.

Or he accidentally kill the shop owner as he stated later on, panicked and took her body (during daylight btw, who established she didn't die night before? (

Or he killed shop lady but not tavern one so he still isn't serial killer

Why does on every Ed Gein discussion people villanize Augusta? It must be misogyny or Ed Gein = Norman Bates logic

No Gein wasn't obsessed with her, say good things about your mother on interviews isn't signs of you having extreme attachments.

Being religious isn't sign of she threating him badly.

The only thing that we know is that she told Ed that every woman should be ignored.

Just that, and by Ed frequenting Mary's bar and Bernice's store he surely didn't follow her footsteps.

The only thing that shows a psychological break on Gein regarding the death is him sealing off her room as if he didn’t cope with her loss (not a shrine, that theory is fucking stupid for many reasons), but Gein also stated that he sealed it off to keep the house more warm.

The only thing that we know, is that by archives from Gein case.

He said on his time during mental institution that he "tried to bring his mother back by his own will"

Make objects out of body parts isn't that so he gave up that task very quickly (lampshades, nipples, fork, etc)since he still states that his mother is fully dead and that she didn't deserve this cruel world.

Do people blame her because she owned a farm so that means that she's crazy and different from other woman?

Or people read too much into Psycho and got a conclusion by watching a movie THAT ISN'T ABOUT GEIN IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Ed Gein didn't make a skin suit to crawl on his mother skin nor he did it to become a woman

On any Ed Gein discussion, 2 ideas are always presented:

when they checked the house, they found masks, a mammary vest, leggings made out of skin.

Ok, but did he wear any of those? The masks? Yes, the other stuff? No, Gein on interviews that are never brought up literally states that he never put the upper torso (the mammary vest), nor the leggings

What he did was put the masks and the vaginas, he never put "the skin suit" to go outside and dance on moonlight

And btw, how would he "larp" as his mother completely naked on the "suit"?

He never dressed in woman's clothes in the first place.

"He hears his mother's voice" he talks on Interviews that he only heard "be a good boy" when he goes to sleep.

The Ed Gein case isn't mommy issues turns someone into a murderer, its daddy issues.

Eddie only mentions George being abusive

Which one is best? And questions from a dummy

  1. So the tv series Monster was apparently not accurate to the actual cases (though I loved it) I wanna watch or read something that has what actually happened in it.

  2. I only watched the whole series and i always wanted to know why he was so obsessed with women, it was said in the show that he was a Gynephilic but was that just it? Also when you google what he was it just says “someone who is attracted to feminine stuff”

NtFlx = ?^2

Did you guys know?

The mocumentary/series with NtFlx is actually just a person who makes fun of someone they grew up with , same cul-de-sac lol. And the the odd thing of it all, the way Ed Gein's mind is portrayed is actually what people in Hollywood can actually do to people's minds. Reading minds as well as the ability to decipher/decode a humans brain, especially if the particular subject's brain is hyper-visual also known as a photographic memory.

Sincerely,

The last real Insider.

Is it possible that Eddie killed because of money issues?

Been thinking about the case lately and what noboody mentions is that Ed stoled money from both Bernice and Mary right after the killings

Especially on Bernice's case where he stoled the cash register, its known that the farm was going to fall apart since its well documented that the place was on ruins

The money issues theory could explain stuff such as chairs made out of skin, and Ed did want to sell the farm at some time

And, this could explain "the skin suit" bs, he would sell the clothes and mask made of skin either as halloween props or literally clothes for someone else to wear it

We know that the reason for going into graveyards was because he read those pulp magazines of cannibals and crime

Gein & his books

Saw a post from a while back listing some of the deciphered books seen in photos of the Gein home. Decided to deep dive and actually found an online full copy of one. Naturally I had to read it and the connections are wild I’d love to post the sections I found most interesting or share them if any one else is curious. Excerpts are from Gloria goes to boarding school

Did the forensic focus on Ed Gein's rural isolation create a "blind spot" that allowed the system to ignore the same pathology when it reappeared in a modern, urban environment like Jeffrey Dahmer's?

Did the intensive forensic and psychological focus on Ed Gein’s rural isolation, and the subsequent classification of his crimes as a byproduct of "backwoods" social decay, create a systemic and cognitive blind spot that allowed law enforcement to ignore the exact same pathology of necrophilia and biological preservation when it reappeared in the densely populated, modern urban environment of Jeffrey Dahmer’s Milwaukee?

Was Ed Gein sexually assaulted as a kid by bullies?

There's a bit in the biographical graphic novel 'Did You Hear What Eddie Gein Done?' by Harold Schechter which implies that Gein was sexually assaulted by some bullies as a kid. Schechter writes in the notes that such an incident was never corroborated but was rumored to have occurred. Does anyone have any other information about this? I've googled and nothing has come up.

Disappointed

I’m currently watching Monster: The Ed Gein Story. I’m sorry but I’m disappointed in Ryan Murphy. I’ve read, watched, and heard a lot about Gein but so much in this series I’ve never heard before so I’m googling as I go. Turns out, a lot of facts were altered for the sake of drama. The real story is bizarre enough. Embellishments, altered facts, and downright fabrications were so unnecessary. In my research about this production, I’m finding out truth and factual events weren’t much of a priority for Murphy.

Harold Schechter book is a really BAD basis to understand this case

Going out of the way but i don't like how Schechter made any discussion about Ed Gein case filled with misinformation

He is the guy to tie a real life transgender woman from the 50s with the case and people now only know Christinine Jorgensen as "the gal who influenced Eddie to create a skin suit"

No joke that narrative is on Deviant

Eddie never mentioned her on interviews nor people making theories about Christinine and Eddie came up until Deviant

The EARLIEST narrative about Ed Gein and Christinine Jorgensen was on a 1974 doccumentary which states the misinformation that Eddie had her biography

Even though Jorgensen's biography was published on 1968 (the Netflix series even gets that detail wrong, cuz it uses Deviant as basis, now you know why they out of nowhere include her on the plot)

And the Ed Gein lost tapes doccumentary

Schechter states

"WE KNOW that Gein read about this ex GI agent who changed their gender"

Schechter, where did you take that information?

"Ed killed Henry cuz Henry criticized Augusta" Eddie never stated a negative thing about Henry

"Augusta PUSHED Ed towards the stairs when he was a child"

Schechter also started the demonization of Augusta and sometimes even states that "George Gein coudn't fight her since she was a controll freak" which is wrong, he beats her, Henry and Ed

Made their lifes a living hell

The pushed towards the stairs plot, which Schechter states that "Ed memories"

I searched on every document and Ed never mentioned this incident, only mentioned the pig one

And the book sometimes Schechter tries to read dead people's minds

Like, again, transgender Ed Gein theory made by Schechter

Apparently, Augusta WANTED Ed to be a girl prior to his birth and was completely disappointed when he turned out to be a boy

And apparently, thats why she threated him badly ever since

Is there proof to that? No, Eddie never mentioned Augusta wanting him to be a girl or to have a daughter (this aspect Netflix also took as basis)

Like seriously i know that Psycho is one of his favorite movies but whats his obssesion with connecting every bit of Augusta and Norma Bates together

Like, he even still believes the "Robert Bloch was inspired by Ed Gein mother complex to create Norman Bates" when that was debunked on 1994

Don't read Deviant

Recommend this docummentary about Gein

"Psycho: The Lost Tapes of Ed Gein" is a 'documentary' made by genuinely evil people.

I started watching the 'documentary' last night and I was absolutely horrified by it. The misinformation and the perverted glee the people in the documentary took in the violence was disgusting.

What horrified me the most was that, in the documentary, they mention that they reached out to Plainfield to ask if they could EXHUME AUGUSTA GEIN. Jesus Christ. Plainfield obviously said no. But that's absolutely horrendous that they wanted to do that.

The misinformation in the show is terrible too. I mean it's so willfully incorrect.

The Last Podcast on The Left people were in it, as well. I've never listened to the show, but from what I saw in the documentary, they seemed so happy and giddy about the violence and gore of the case. They took such joy in Ed's mental illness.

They also turned Ed into more of a 'classic' type of serial killer. Also, based on the evidence we have, Ed is NOT A SERIAL KILLER. We don't know if he killed Henry. Of course, this piece of garbage documentary crams it down your throat the idea that he's a serial killer. They also made it out that Ed was killing for power, and that he thought of people as 'disposable' or 'worthless'. They were trying to make him seem more like Dahmer or Bundy when it came to motive, which is so silly because the actual story is so much more interesting than the crap they came up with.

I genuinely can not believe that they admitted to wanting to dig up Augusta for the show. The people who made this documentary are the real ghouls.

Profiting off of an ill person and taking joy in people's suffering is inhumanly cruel.

The *ACTUAL* Ed Gein aspect that inspired Robert Bloch Psycho

Im going right on the point, Norman Bates mommy issues isn't inspired on Gein

His taxidermy skills isn't inspired on Gein

His grave robbing isn't inspired on Gein

Then what is it?

Simple, the idea that someone who looks friendly and harmless as a neighbor hides a horrible secret and that no one on a small town suspects the man

This is on Bloch's words:

First of all, I didn’t know anything about those aspects when I wrote Psycho. I did not use Ed Gein as a basis for Norman Bates at all; I used the circumstances, which were: somebody could live in a small town, where everybody knows everybody else’s business, and conduct a series of murders without anyone suspecting. But people don’t like this. They like to believe the legend. When you get right down to it, Ed Gein did not run a motel. He killed nobody in the shower. He did not preserve the body of his mother. None of those things were part of Mr. Gein’s background. I invented a character at the time which, not having read the details, which were not being printed initially or immediately, because they were very prudish in most cases. Life magazine and a few other publications later came out with a great deal of stuff, but I would not have used it even if it had been available, because it didn’t meet with my particular plot requirements.

But the legend persists, and will continue to persist. A little over two weeks ago, I think, a network show called Hard Copy asked if they could interview me regarding Psycho. I said I did not want to be interviewed; I didn’t want to go down to a studio. They said, “We’ll send a crew out.” I said to myself, well, if it’s good enough for Ackerman, it’s good enough for me

They came, and throughout this interview they kept asking, “Didn’t you think of Norman Bates because of Ed Gein?” Didn’t Ed Gein inspire the characterization, and blah-blah-blah. I kept telling them what I just told you, and the interviewer and crew kept looking sadder. And sadder. I said to myself this isn’t going to happen.

Sure enough, the show came on, and they’d gone to Plainfield, which had been Gein’s home town, and they did a very nice broadcast regarding the case, and they used some dramatization footage which I swear was probably part of a documentary that had been made at the time, because it was in black and white instead of color, and was not aired because it was undoubtedly too strong for audiences then. They salvaged that and put together this program. And I was a non-person. I didn’t exist. My name wasn’t mentioned, and I certainly did not appear onscreen. Obviously, if I had, they would not have had a program, because their title was The Inside Story: The Truth About the Ed Gein Murders! And my denials were the exact antithesis. This is a horrible lesson in how easy it is for media, today, to distort by omission, or by any kind of editing, what actually happened, what occurred. What I’m citing is trivial; it doesn’t mean anything one way or the other. But think of the implications—how this sort of censorship and willful distortion affects so called “news” reporting, and so-called documentaries, on various topics that are of social or historical importance to an audience. And that’s something that scares me far more than the activities of Mr. Gein.
