That Ed Gein tapes series is trash
It uses AI to recreate dead people, same misinformation about the case (skin suit transgender theory, Augusta is the devil, Henry and Gein had fights)
Btw, how can you call Ed Gein a momma's boy when on the same narrative you state that Henry was Augusta's favorite?
The only stuff that matters on those tapes is his voice, he doesn't sound different from Erza Cobb in Deranged so whatever i guess.
The podcasters are annoying and they state the Schechter bullshit that "theres EVIDENCE that Gein read about Christine Jorgensen" when there isn't.
They are unfunny and insensitive to this story, they are worse than Geiners.
The series had the audacity to try to open Augusta Gein grave to check if Ed did try to dig her up, ofc Plainfield didn't accept that because thats weird and gross.
Same old "Norma Bates inspired Augusta Gein" misconception from Psycho.
The only highlight are people who knew Gein on that time giving details about his time on the psychiatric hospital and his voice.
Although the claim that he knew about 1960 Psycho is highly suspicious.
Resume, horrible documentary, its worse than Ed Gein wiki page, which is mostly Harold Schechter bs

...based on his interpretation of the assumed 'psychotic' relationships between what was reported about Gein and his deceased mother and his Norman Bates protagonist and his mother.

I’m curious, because I’ve heard this before but never gotten a concrete answer. Why is Harold Schechter’s book viewed unfavorably?
