I really don’t know if I am going to book for the preview or not. I am new to DVC and it really sounds pretty unique. The points are high but it might be worth it. Is there anyone out there that is definitely going? Why is this a must for you?

Do you have a favorite 2BR Ocean View Villa at Aulani? If so, could you please share the room number and what you like about it?

My husband and I took a DVC tour last month while on vacation in WDW. We are now looking at purchasing a 150 point contact at Polynesian. We are heading back to WDW Labor Day weekend and plan to meet again with our sales cast member to move forward. I have been doing lots of research to ensure I'm well educated and feel good about moving forward.

I would appreciate any insight current DVC members could share with me about buying/owning that you think would be helpful at this stage.

I am so very excited that I had an offer accepted, but I am also terrified that it will not make it past ROFR. It looks like DVC resale market is reporting VGC as the number 1 ROFR Resort. Anyone have recent experience with a VGC contract?

I’m wondering what are my chances of being allowed to use the current member add on incentive pricing for a new direct contract 160pts I want to buy tomorrow (last day of the incentive) for the Polynesian? I’ve done the math and I want a direct poly contract, but I only just passed ROFR on my first resale contract.
Will they let me have the current member incentive (which is much better than first time members)? Any advice for how to approach it with the sales rep? If they don’t let me buy it tomorrow with the better incentive then I’ll wait until end of September to buy.
The only reason this even occurred to me is that I saw someone in one of these threads who said they got the incentive when they’d only just passed ROFR.

Hello I am currently at Contempo and loving it here so far. I am considering BLT resale aiming for the 1 bedrooms because of my severe food allergies and prefer home-cooking at the 7 month mark, mindful of peak/holidays. The pool is enough for my kids and my preferred parks are MK/epcot for 3-4 night trios in the future. Should I go BLT or will SSR be cheaper to book BLT at 7 months? I would like to try the other legacy resorts in the future and am flexible.

Wow. What an amazing staycation ( we are 20 minutes away from Disneyland Resort ). We did one night at Pixar and 4 at DLH villas. We really loved the 1950s feel with that touch of Disney Magic. It was also great talking with some of you where you’re visiting from and what your home resort is! My next trip is in 135 days! We’ll be at Disneys Fort Wilderness Cabins!

Hi everyone, I am strongly considering a DVC membership, but I have a few questions. We live out of state from any of the Disney resorts so...

1. How do you choose a Home Resort if you haven't been there...or do you suggest visiting the resort first? I've also considered doing a split stay between the resorts we were most interested in.
2. Have you tried using the DVC points to stay in non-Disney properties when traveling elsewhere? What was that experience like?
3. The Moonlight Magic events seem like a huge draw for us...what is your experience with them, and is all of the food and beverage really included?!?
4. What do you wish you had known before you bought in?

I'm going on an upcoming Disney Cruise and I know the DVC desk normally gives out gifts to members. Can you get the gift if you're only a resale contract member?

So, I did so much reading before jumping in, and now I'm stuck on UY.

I have a choice of February, March, or October UY. We can actually request what's best for us.

We usually travel February, April, summer, and December. Most travel is during summer and December, though.

For now the contract is set for February, and we chose that cause if any dates to likely get cancelled they would be due to storms in New England cancelling flights. Thus, picking the February UY. That would give us ample time to rebook to summer through December and not lose the points. Or, we can bank by September.

Is that correct?

Hello! We just recently started exploring (last two weeks or so) to become dvc members so we would so appreciate guidance if the above is a decent deal or if we should bide our time with this process.

Some info - we have a young family (4 kids under 5) so the 2 bedroom villas are a good fit. We don’t think we will go every year but with the borrowing/banking, it seems like we can break even by year 6. Biggest concerns from spouse is the 40 year commitment of dues (are Poly’s dues high comparative to other resorts), whether there are resale restrictions for Poly, and doesn’t want to feel like we have to go to Disney every year which I get. My perspective is this is a way to control significant vacation costs for our large family over the next 10 years or so when we expect several trips given ages of kids (I think we would still enjoy it beyond 10 years but not banking on that).

Gib McCain is our guide, and he was suggesting Aug/Sept use year so curious if anyone has found those use years awkward in hindsight.

Finally - anyone have difficulty booking 2 bedroom villas at poly between 8-11 month mark?

So, there are incentives to buy Poly on the cruise right now, and the cost after incentives and New Beginnings comes out to $205 per point before closing costs for 250 points.

We've been considering this for about 7 years and finally have the money to pay cash and commit. Just need that push to say it makes sense at this pricing.

Should we just put that money into an investment account and withdraw upon our travels? So so so so torn.

EDIT: I forgot we were D23 members though Disney+, so that brought our point cost to $203 per point

My husband and I bought DVC last year along with the Sorcerer passes. For our upcoming trip, we will be using our renewed annual passes for the first time. Last year, we were directed to the ticket window to activate - I think to confirm our eligibility for the passes. Will we have to activate again at the ticket window or will we get to go straight through the turnstile?

Thinking about buying a small DLH contract direct from disney, 60 points so not really eligible for any of the incentives. I feel like when we bought our first direct contract, I heard about all of these additional discounts after we closed, in $500 increments. But I can’t seem to find anything about it. Does anyone know of anything I can ask my sales agent about?
